00:01Analysts have dismissed claims that Pakatan Harpan is trying to dismantle Barca Nacional,
00:07arguing BN was already in disarray before the last general election.
00:12Azrul Hadi Abdullah Sani from strategic advisory firm ADA Southeast Asia said,
00:18UMNO's shift towards right-wing Malay-centric politics alienated non-Malay supporters, especially MCA and MIC.
00:26The recent tension was sparked when MCA Secretary-General Chong Xin-Wun called for the party to chart its own course,
00:33citing grassroots frustration with BN's lack of direction.
00:37In response, Johor UMNO youth's Noor Azlin Ambrose called this view short-sighted,
00:42while Johor MCA youth's Heng Ji-Li accused PH of dismantling BN from within.
00:48However, International Islamic University Malaysia's Shaza Shubi said,
00:53MCA fears becoming irrelevant as Chinese voters now prefer DAP,
00:57claiming that DAP and PKR are making room for BN to keep the government stable.
01:02Both analysts agreed that UMNO remains a strong force due to its strong grassroots support,
01:08with Azrul saying MCA and MIC are steadily losing relevance and must confront some pressing existential questions.
