00:00Hi, I'm Lily Collins and this is Would You Wear It Now?
00:14Oh boy.
00:17Little Lil.
00:19This picture is from the Oscars
00:25when my dad was nominated for You'll Be In My Heart for Tarzan.
00:29So I was, I think, about 10 years old.
00:31Wow.
00:32The crimped hair was something I was very, very into.
00:35And the frosted blue on my lips as well and my eye shadow.
00:41I can't help but laugh when I look at this photo.
00:43Honestly, I don't even think that these are designers
00:48that I would be able to name.
00:51What I do remember, though, is that shawl came from my mom's closet.
00:57I needed a little something extra to add to my silk outfit
01:00and I ended up finding that in there.
01:02So that was a nice little touch.
01:05Would I wear it today?
01:08No.
01:09I'd wear the clip, though.
01:11I'd wear the clip and I would definitely have my hair look like this,
01:13which is a little bit maybe similar-ish.
01:21This right here is Oscar de la Renta.
01:25And this was my first Met Ball.
01:28I think I was about 18 years old, sat at the Teen Vogue table.
01:32I went alone.
01:33I was not given the opportunity to have a plus one,
01:36so I walked into this massive room, not knowing a single person.
01:41I was terrified.
01:43And I ended up having the best night ever.
01:46I loved every second of it.
01:48I kind of feel like this is exactly how I looked every day at the age of 18
01:54with my hair behind my head, my hair was so long.
01:57But yeah, this was a terrifying and exhilarating evening that I will never forget.
02:02I know that the feathers ended up all over the Met, I will say that.
02:06I would totally wear this again.
02:12Oh, I remember this night so well.
02:16The premiere of Mirror, Mirror with Julia.
02:19This is a vintage Dolce & Gabbana dress.
02:22I remember the second that I saw it on the racks.
02:25There was no question that this was going to be the dress for the premiere.
02:27It felt special and it felt very appropriate for Snow White and me at the time.
02:35Any story, I now have real bangs, but this was a piece, so these were fakies.
02:42This was back when I was testing the waters.
02:44Didn't fully commit yet, but I'm glad that I have now.
02:48I would wear this again.
02:50I would wear probably different shoes and style it a bit more rock and roll,
02:53but I wouldn't say no.
02:56Okay, this next one is Paul Ka.
03:01And I remember also seeing this one on the rack and only from the front though and I hadn't
03:06experienced the magic of the back.
03:08And then they swung it around and I went, oh, well that's a no-brainer.
03:11I loved that this I wore right after, a little after Mirror, Mirror and it felt like a nod to
03:19the Snow White of it all.
03:20But at the same time, I graduated past that a few years ago.
03:24I had just cut my hair kind of to the length I am now and I just thought that the elegance of
03:31the black and white was very chic, but then the back had a little bit of pizzazz and sass to it,
03:38which I loved.
03:39It's obviously at the 15th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards and I was presenting an award.
03:45And yeah, I would definitely wear this today.
03:48Again, I would maybe funk it up a little bit, but I loved it.
03:55This next one is Zuhair Murad and it's probably one of my all-time favorites,
03:59not only because of the dress, but the night.
04:02It was at the Golden Globe Awards.
04:04It was nominated for my role in Rules Don't Apply and it was a dream to be included,
04:11a dream to be there, an amazing dress that I never thought that I'd be able to wear to
04:17something like this.
04:18It was magical and the way that the mesh on the material fit my skin tone so perfectly that
04:25it just looked like it was laid on me was magic.
04:29I tried it on and again, it was like a no-brainer.
04:32I don't know if I'd wear it again because of the memories attached to it the first time.
04:37I wouldn't want to repeat something that already was so magical, but I definitely don't regret it.
04:42I love it.
04:44Sassy.
04:46This one's Elisab.
04:48I'm just going to start off by saying I would 10,000 times wear this again.
04:52I don't care if I've worn it once, I'd wear this thing like a hundred times.
04:55I love it so much.
04:56I loved belting it.
04:57I thought that was a really cool touch.
04:59It added like a hardness to the soft feathers and the sheerness of the dress.
05:04Strategically placed beads, I might add.
05:08I loved the hair and makeup.
05:09It was at the Vanity Fair Oscar party so it felt like an ode to old Hollywood glamour was appropriate.
05:16And I, yeah, I just loved every part of this dress.
05:21Again, I have a running theme of leaving feathers all over the place.
05:24I'm pretty sure people stepped on me all night and there were little bits of me floating around the party.
05:29I mean, Jean-Baptiste de Vallée.
05:31This goes down in the books as one of my favorite outfits of all time for me, for memories, for aesthetic.
05:40I got to wear the most incredible Cartier jewelry with this as well.
05:44It was the most magical costume fashion moment.
05:50It was for the Met Ball, the Met Gala, and it was the camp theme.
05:55And we paid tribute to Priscilla Presley's wedding dress.
05:59And my incredible glam team extraordinaire, Gregory and Fiona, helped create this amazing aesthetic.
06:08I loved every second of it.
06:11Yeah, I mean, let's talk about being stepped on though.
06:14I definitely was stepped on many a times wearing this train, but it was, it was worth it and beyond.
06:21It helped me channel my character for the evening and I loved it so much.
06:26So I would, I would wear this again, but you know, I'd switch it up and wear a different shoe
06:31and we could come up with a whole different glam look.
06:33I've been to a fair few Met Balls throughout the years.
06:40I want to say upwards of six.
06:43I've actually, I mean, I say that, but I've like, I, to me, every single time I get invited,
06:48I pinch myself.
06:50It's a huge honor to get to go and to be able to wear different designers.
06:54And I've been able to attend with Cartier now for a long time.
06:57And I'm so grateful because I love being surrounded by the photographers, the models,
07:04the designers, I geek out getting to be in the same room as those artists.
07:08And there are people that I don't get to ask questions of very much.
07:12So to be able to see the exhibits and to soak in all that creativity and wear something magical
07:17is such a dream.
07:19And each time you get to play a different character.
07:21And like I said, my amazing team collaborates each time on creating a new look and a new character.
07:28We do rehearsal runs.
07:30We have fun with it.
07:31And it's one of my favorite nights.
07:33Okay, another Jean-Baptiste Vallée.
07:37This was from the Tolkien premiere in London.
07:39Fun fact, our flight was delayed.
07:42We got in very rushed to the hotel and had about an hour to get ready for this.
07:48So we really, I think, pulled it together quite quickly.
07:52I remember this belt being kind of the little cherry on top because I didn't realize it had
07:57a belt at first.
07:58So when I tried on the dress, I thought it was utterly magical.
08:01It felt like a painting.
08:02It felt very appropriate for the premiere.
08:04And then bam, we put on this belt and it was like an ode to the elven queen,
08:09which is what my character kind of represented to Tolkien.
08:13So it was a nice little nod there.
08:15Also, sneak peek of some crimping in the back, which little Lily also loved.
08:22So this dress I loved.
08:23I remember having to have some help splaying out the bottom of it to look kind of perfect.
08:30But yeah, I love this dress so much.
08:32So I would definitely rock this again.
08:36Okay, Elie Saab from the Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile London premiere,
08:43which was the same week as the Jean-Baptiste Vallée from the Tolkien premiere in London.
08:49So wow, that was that was quite a week, quite a fashion week.
08:53It was also very cold this night.
08:55This is very sheer.
08:56So fun fact, I was freezing.
08:59I love this as well.
09:01This the the beads yet again are strategically placed beautifully put on the body.
09:06I loved the top the pop of blue in the earrings and the eye shadow.
09:11I always like to try and play a little bit with color and have it pop somewhere else on the outfit.
09:17I did not know that evening that the carpet would also be blue.
09:21That was just a real fun turn of events when I showed up.
09:26But yeah, I love this one.
09:28Again, though, I feel like this is one this is like a showstopper you wear once.
09:33And and you don't need to repeat it.
09:35I love it.
09:37But I feel like once you've done this, you've kind of got the memory.
09:46All right.
09:46This one's Valentino from the premiere of season two of Emily in Paris.
09:51I thought it was a top when I saw it on the hanger.
09:55Then I was told it was a dress.
09:57I didn't believe my stylists.
09:59And then I put it on and then I slowly realized that, yes, it's just a very short dress.
10:03But it has pockets.
10:05A dress with pockets is a girl's best friend.
10:07I love this look so much.
10:10We actually and I never know what each other is going to wear.
10:14And somehow we oddly always coordinate.
10:16I just think that's because we're connected.
10:19And I loved adding the tights.
10:22I feel like that was a little bit of like a French chic quality to the outfit.
10:26I loved the hair and makeup.
10:28Gregory and Fiona killed it with that.
10:30Fun fact with Gregory and Fiona, my amazing hair and makeup team,
10:34I never look in the mirror.
10:36I let them do their magic.
10:38And then I look in the mirror at the end and I just trust them implicitly.
10:43So it's always fun to see what I end up looking like at the end of the day.
10:47And this was an amazing memory.
10:51We didn't get to really celebrate season one's launch because it was during COVID.
10:55So this was kind of the first premiere moment that we got for the show.
10:58And yeah, I would totally wear this again.
11:01I love it.
11:01This fun orange moment is Gabriella Hurst, who kills a suit.
11:07I love Gabriella Hurst's suits and her colors.
11:10This vibrant orange was such a fresh air pop of color for me mixed with the Cartier jewelry.
11:18For me, it felt very sophisticated and chic.
11:21And I was really going for a pantsuit kind of vibe for the press tour for Windfall.
11:25And again, this was kind of the first press tour, I think, in person that I'd done in a very long time.
11:31So to even put together looks to me walking around the city felt so odd.
11:36But it felt like me and who I wanted to be and who I am.
11:40And I just loved the boldness of color and yet the sophisticated chicness of the suit.
11:44And I would totally wear this again.
11:46All of her suits I live in and love so much.
11:50It was a very hard choice.
11:52But my favorite is the Ely Saab.
11:56I just feel like now that I have bangs, I need to try it again.
11:59You know, bangs change everything.
12:01And I feel like this dress needs to come out of the closet.
12:05Thanks so much for tuning in.
12:07Let me know your favorite look in the comments below.
12:12Great.
12:13That's a wrap on video.
12:15Whoop whoop.
12:16All right, now we're going to shoot this look.
12:18Yes.
12:19Sorry, don't do it again.
