00:00Well, on to Everton and in terms of their summer window.
00:06Now, we've mentioned it's going to be, you know, a lot of change,
00:09a lot of decisions to be made from Moyes and his team as to who stays.
00:13You know, so many players on the edge of their contracts expiring as well.
00:18How do they sort of navigate?
00:19You know, we mentioned the priorities of keeping that core group to try and make a big push
00:24because, you know, at the end of the day, they've been really struggling down the bottom
00:28with the Premier League for too long now for Everton standards.
00:31And Moyes has come in and, you know, he signed the contract
00:34and he's made sure it's a good length contract as well to really push Everton forward.
00:38You know, the new stadium, so much is changing at the club.
00:41They don't want to be settling for less this season, you know, next season.
00:45They want to really make a, you know, a strong push.
00:47And the summer is so important for them.
00:50Yeah, it's going to be, we've discussed a few times,
00:53it's going to be an interesting summer.
00:55It's going to be interesting in terms of what funds are going to be available.
00:59Now, we know that Everton have complied with PSR for the latest accounts.
01:05So they don't have to worry about that.
01:07But they still have to be careful.
01:08They can't go out and obviously spend money like they have done in the past.
01:13So David Moyes is going to have to try and prioritise.
01:17He's going to maybe have to come to a couple of compromises as well
01:20when it comes to his recruitment, as we say, Eleven.
01:22I think it's 13, very hard.
01:24Now it's a contract now.
01:27The current squad, 12 or 13.
01:30But regardless, it's a lot of players, isn't it?
01:33And you're going to have to try and keep some of those.
01:38You're going to have to, without a doubt, try and keep some of those.
01:41Do you try and tie down just a gallon of gay?
01:44I think everyone would say yes, you have to,
01:46because he's been so important.
01:47And Abdullahi Dekore, I know some supporters would like Everton to move on,
01:52but he is part of a core group.
01:55And you've got to have a squad and you've got to have players that you can rely on.
01:59And that's something that every Everton manager seems to do.
02:05Jack Harrison has had a disappointing season, one goal, no assists.
02:13But he is Premier League proven.
02:16Can David Boyd get more out of him than Sean Dykes did?
02:20Because there is a player there from what he did at Leeds.
02:23And he's had a couple of good games in Nottingham Forest and Man City.
02:28So there's decisions to make.
02:31And as you say, it's a balancing act.
02:33If you get rid of these players, who else can you bring in?
02:36Who else can you bring in for the money and the wages?
02:39Because if you got rid of, say, an Abdullahi Dekore,
02:42could you get two players in who are on his current wages?
02:45Or do you try and offer him a longer-term deal for more security?
02:49But it might not be as much as Lucas or Fim financially.
02:55And you can go and stretch your budget a little bit more.
02:58So there's all these different things for David Moyes and his recruitment staff to consider.
