A slow start to the window for EFC.
Transcript
00:00In terms of the transfer window, a lot of talk going into it from the likes of Sean
00:08Dyche saying how tough it is to juggle Everton's finances, obviously with the takeover situation
00:12hanging over them as well. Is there any sort of links, rumours, updates that you can offer
00:18at this early stage in the window that Everton can maybe look positive going into that new
00:24season?
00:26Yeah, it's been quiet. It's expected to have been quiet, especially when you factor in
00:32the Euros as well. It always happens and now the tournament's about to start, I think
00:36that things will go a little bit quiet. A lot of talk has been about Jarrett Brantford's
00:41future, whether Everton have to sell him before the deadline on 30 June when the PSR rules
00:48reset or whether it be Abdul-Onan who's come out and said basically he'd like to move
00:54to another club and maybe showcase his talent in the Euros. Dominic Calvert-Lewin's obviously
01:00been linked to Newcastle. In terms of players coming in, it's been quiet enough. There have
01:05been some links, Calvin Phillips being one, Centre Midfield. I think it's an area that
01:11Everton will look to recruit in, definitely. Andre Gomez has left the club and even last
01:17season they're looking at the options. Everton never has enough of them and if Amazon aren't
01:23going to leave, they'll definitely need another one in there. So Calvin Phillips is an interesting
01:26one. He has a really disappointing Lonsveld in near West Ham but maybe one of Sean Dyche's
01:33infamous pre-seasons with his gaffer's days can get Calvin Phillips up to speed. He's
01:38come out in the past and really spoke highly of Calvin Phillips, so one there. Armando
01:46Broggia from Chelsea is another player linked. You would have to think that that would depend
01:52on Dominic Calvert-Lewin's future. Chelsea's financial situation is interesting. He's an
01:58academy product, so that would be pure profit for Chelsea. Maybe Everton, if they can finance
02:04that the right way, £30 million as the moves are priced at, it's a lot of money for Everton
02:11to be quite honest. But yeah, those are those ones. Obviously, Jack Harrison would like to get
02:18back on loan. I think Jack Harrison is hopeful that he could come back. Obviously, he's still
02:23in the championship and Jack Harrison has a long clause that he can't go out on loan, so that's a
02:30boost for Everton. But yeah, I think that we'll be quiet for another couple of weeks as Everton
02:38plot things and they look at what they can do budget-wise, maybe what's going to happen with
02:43takeover. But there will be again, I think, a few free agents loans as well.
02:48Sean Dyche may be assessing on the market loans, maybe come up a little bit later when clubs come
02:53back for pre-season and then clubs decide who they want to keep around or not. So yeah,
02:59it will be an interesting summer certainly.
