00:56Out of the early days of our western frontier have come many legends.
01:01Some of these stories are based on fact.
01:04Others, no doubt, were conceived in the minds of grizzled old prospectors,
01:08too long alone in the hot barren wastes,
01:11consumed by their one dream, the dream of finding gold.
01:15Each one convinced that he would one day hit the biggest bonanza of all.
01:20Many of these stories, as you know, concerned Indians.
01:22They were the large tribes or nations in Arizona,
01:27such as the Apache, the Navajo, Hopi, Zuni, Papago, and many more.
01:35California's Indians were divided into smaller tribes.
01:38There were a good many of these groups that were all but extinct when the first Spaniard landed.
01:44Most of them were far more primitive than their brothers in other territories.
01:48Their culture was that of the Stone Age.
01:50This story deals with the last days of one such tribe.
01:56Already small, when Spain first claimed California as their own,
02:00their numbers steadily dwindled as they waged an unending war against the white man.
02:05They refused to be converted to Christianity by the paddies of the missions.
02:09The white man was their mortal enemy, to be killed on sight.
02:15While their number was decreasing, the number of their enemy was increasing.
02:20The Anglo or Yankee had migrated west and was embarked upon the feverish search for gold.
02:25The remnants of this tribe had been driven back into the hills in an area which was thought to be rich in gold.
02:34Individual prospectors and parties of men had gone into these hills never to return.
02:39There came a time when the only remaining members of this tribe were women.
02:45Their men had been all killed in their ceaseless battle with the white men or had died of pestilence.
02:51Ironically, the leader of these women was herself white.
02:57She had been captured as a baby.
02:59And the only reason she had been spared was the fact that their hair was the color of yellow gold.
03:04To the superstitious minds of these primitive people, this was a symbol.
03:09She had been sent to them by the sun god, and they treated her as a goddess as she grew to young womanhood.
03:16Since she had known nothing but the ways of these Indians, their enemy became her enemy.
03:21And she fought and killed her own people.
03:24This is the story of one party of white men and one white woman
03:28who, in their search for gold, encountered these Amazons of the West.
03:33You can fill bags with it.
03:40Why, there's spots in that creek where the nuggets just reflect the sun at you.
03:46Why, doggone it, man.
03:48You must be the richest man in this whole territory.
03:50Where you got all them bags of gold here?
03:53I had them bags of gold, mister.
03:55But don't you think for one blame minute them ornery redskins was gonna let me take them out?
04:01Lucky to be standing right here.
04:04Plum lucky.
04:05Just got out with my high.
04:08Never even got out with the price of a drink.
04:13When you plan on going back, ain't right, you know, let all that gold just go away.
04:18As soon as I give me a grub steak and a party of men what's men,
04:22and ain't afraid to take on the engines, I'm going back.
04:25Guess you believe that, mister.
04:27Why, goggone it, Pam.
04:29Ain't we been believing you for the past five years now?
04:32Hey, Pam, come on back and get your drink.
04:50Come and get it, Pam.
04:53Back it up.
04:54What's going on, Don Man?
05:05Oh, that's the boys.
05:06They have quite a time with Pam.
05:08Pam?
05:08Pam Taggart.
05:11That's, uh, Pam.
05:12Pam for Panhandle.
05:13But, uh, I don't know what his name is.
05:16What about this story he's telling about the gold?
05:20Well, uh, I, uh, don't reckon you've been around here very long, have you, mister, uh...
05:25Uh, uh, Potter, Malby Potter.
05:28Uh, the wife and I just got in yesterday afternoon.
05:30We're staying at the Harley Gordy now.
05:32Oh, well, that explains everything.
05:34Yeah, Pam, he's been telling that story around for years.
05:37Why, I'm surprised he hasn't already told you the story, uh, uh, you know, strangers are his best customers.
05:44He sure tells it like it was the truth.
05:46Well, he's been telling that story so long, I think he believes it now.
05:51Yeah, I, uh, I guess it could be that way.
05:54Now, what do you have?
05:55Oh, uh, nothing, thank you.
05:56I'm not a drinking man.
05:59In fact, his wife doesn't allow it.
06:02Uh, I was going to ask you if you knew of some little business a man might get into.
06:08You get to hear about everything that goes on in town.
06:12Well, if you've got the right kind of money,
06:14I happen to know that you can pick this place right up.
06:19You put some music out there,
06:22and you'll get some nice shapely, uh, entertainers.
06:28And then you'll cut that red eye in half with, uh, you know, cheap alcohol.
06:34Of course, with me as a partner,
06:37you know, sort of look, uh, keep an eye on things around here for you.
06:41Mister, you'll be riding high on the horse.
06:44Well, uh, how much will it take to have it?
06:48Five thousand.
06:49Oh, no, no, no, no, you're talking way over my head.
06:51I haven't got that kind of money.
06:55Well, mister, you go out there and see old Pan,
06:59and for a few dollars, he'll make you rich.
07:02So, how much will it take to have it for three months?
07:13Well, dang well, depends on how many you got in the party.
07:16Now, to get in and out of Gold Creek,
07:18that's the name I gave it, you know,
07:20you gotta have upwards to six or seven guns, and...
07:23Well, what would we need with all of those guns?
07:25There'd only be two or three of us.
07:26It's a blasted old man, I'm talking men.
07:30Six or seven of us, what can handle guns?
07:33Well, isn't that cutting the gold a little thin?
07:36Oh, it'd take a small army to cut that kind of gold in.
07:40I've never seen such gold in all your born days.
07:45Oh, all right, all right.
07:46Now, plan on six or seven.
07:48How much for three months?
07:49Well, let's say, by the time you figure horses,
07:54guns,
07:59rub,
08:02ammunition,
08:05a little liquor.
08:11You got a tab, let's say, $1,000?
08:15We might be able to see that down a bit.
08:17We can't.
08:19If you was around at a party,
08:21wanted to share expenses.
08:23Yeah.
08:24Yeah, that might be the way.
08:27I'd hate to pay the whole bill
08:28to make somebody else rich.
08:30Who is Pam Taggart?
08:33He's that prospector I told you about.
08:36The one that knows about the gold.
08:39I sent you out
08:40to try and talk a deal
08:42with the owner of the saloon,
08:44and you come back
08:45without talking to him.
08:47Another gall to tell me
08:48you wasted your time
08:49talking to a stupid old fool?
08:52But, but, Ruby...
08:54I want that saloon.
08:56Do you understand?
08:58For once in my life,
08:59I want to be somebody.
09:01I want to run that place
09:02and be the queen of the beehive
09:05and have all the people
09:07come to me for favors.
09:08I want to make money.
09:13Big money.
09:14Ruby, Ruby, you've just said it.
09:16That's exactly what's been on my mind.
09:18Big money.
09:19Well, then go out and buy the saloon.
09:22Ruby, honey, forget about that saloon
09:24for a minute.
09:25That's not what I'm talking about.
09:27Besides, if,
09:28if you were to be the queen
09:30around a place like that, honey,
09:31I just couldn't stand it.
09:33All those men pawing at you.
09:38Ruby, honey, listen to me.
09:40Hear me out just this once.
09:43Now, we both want big money,
09:45but I'm telling you again,
09:47I just haven't got the wherewithal
09:48to buy a place like that.
09:49Before you married me,
09:53you sold out a freighting business
09:55in Illinois.
09:56What did you do with the money?
09:59Well, I,
10:00I sold out the place
10:02because I couldn't make a go of it.
10:04Now, if you've got a place
10:05that isn't doing very well,
10:06you're not going to get
10:07very much for it, are you?
10:09Now, Ruby, listen.
10:11This tiger swears up and down
10:13that the gold is there,
10:14and I believe him.
10:16Why?
10:18Well, if it wasn't there,
10:19say he made up this whole story
10:22just to mooch a bottle
10:23and some food,
10:24he wouldn't be willing
10:26to risk his life now,
10:27would he?
10:28Much less three months
10:29of hard work and a long trip.
10:31Oh, no, no, no.
10:32He can get a bottle of food
10:33a lot easier than that.
10:37Where's this gold supposed to be?
10:39At a place he calls Gold Creek.
10:42It's deep in India territory.
10:45Now, honey,
10:46it's no picnic to get there,
10:47but we can be rich.
10:48Real stinking rich.
10:50And we won't have to sweat it out
10:51in that lousy saloon
10:52for the next 15 years.
10:55Listen, Ruby.
10:56All we have to do
10:58is bag it up.
11:00Bags of gold.
11:06Look, Mike.
11:08It's just a matter of time
11:09before some joker
11:10will drift in from Texas
11:11and spot us.
11:12When that happens,
11:13we're either on the run
11:14or rotting in jail.
11:16Now, listen, Wade.
11:17You know I never had no stomach
11:19for battling injuries.
11:21Whoever says we're going to have to get
11:23to where we have to battle, huh?
11:24You mean we're just...
11:25No, I mean we're getting
11:27$300 a piece cash.
11:29We're getting grub
11:30and plenty of ammunition.
11:32When we decide to cut our own trail,
11:34you tell me
11:34who's going to stop us.
11:37Well,
11:38$300 ain't much of a stake.
11:40Not unless you're planning
11:41on going in for that gold
11:42by yourself, Condon.
11:44No, I'm not.
11:45But I figure
11:47friend Potter
11:48for the rest
11:48of a real good stake.
11:50Potter's the only fool
11:51I know
11:51who'll believe Pat Tacker.
11:55Oh, how do, Mr. Potter?
11:57It's a friend of mine,
11:58Mike Horton.
11:59He's in on the deal.
12:01Howdy.
12:02Well, good.
12:04Oh, uh,
12:05those other two men
12:06you told me about
12:07they don't want to come in.
12:09Looks like we'll have
12:10to spend some more time
12:10getting the party
12:11up to full force.
12:12Potter,
12:13I gave you two days.
12:15You're up.
12:16Either we go now,
12:17it's going to cost you
12:19$2,000 for me
12:21and Horton.
12:22I just haven't got
12:23that kind of money, Condon.
12:25Party's up to five.
12:27Either we go now
12:28or we don't go.
12:30Well,
12:31maybe we should just
12:32forget the whole thing.
12:34Well, Taggart,
12:35you're not going to like
12:36going in shorthanded.
12:37Well, you just tell Taggart
12:39then Condon and me
12:40make up four men.
12:42Yeah,
12:43could be.
12:45Could be.
12:46Could be.
12:46Could be.
12:46Could be.
12:46Could be.
13:15As we gained the top
13:33of the pass,
13:33I couldn't help
13:34but take a last look
13:35at the town.
13:36There was a feeling
13:37of security down there.
13:38Well, ahead of us.
13:42But Ruby,
13:43with Ruby it was different.
13:44All she wanted to know
13:45was whether I was coming
13:46or not.
13:48When I told her
13:49that it might be a long time
13:50before we saw the town
13:51again,
13:52she looked off a moment
13:53then said,
13:55we'll see it again.
13:57I hope.
14:06Hey, Pan.
14:07Oh, Tony.
14:09Pan.
14:15When do you plan on
14:16stopping for the night?
14:17Ruby and I aren't up
14:18to this type of travel.
14:20We're beginning to hurt.
14:21You city people
14:22ain't quite up to Pan Taggart,
14:24are you?
14:25Well,
14:26reckon I should take it
14:27fairly easy on you
14:28because when we hit
14:29engine country,
14:30you're going to need
14:31all the fish you can muster.
14:32There's water a couple
14:33miles ahead.
14:34We'll make camp
14:35when we hit it.
14:36We're going to take
14:50over this outfit tonight?
14:52It's probably been a day
14:54out.
14:54Too risky.
14:56Besides,
14:56I have to look
14:58into something.
15:00I've been seeing you
15:00getting cozy
15:01with Potter's wife.
15:03You ain't planning
15:04on anything
15:04whether, are you?
15:05Look, Mike,
15:07you let me decide
15:08what's best.
15:08Then you better
15:08do some fast deciding
15:10because I ain't getting
15:10my scalp lifted
15:11for nobody.
15:14All right.
15:15All right.
15:15We'll do it tomorrow night.
15:18Be a lot safer
15:18all around,
15:19but it's got to be
15:20tomorrow night.
15:30We'd only been
15:30a few days
15:31on the trail,
15:32but it was long
15:32enough to overhang
15:33the party
15:34with the smell
15:34of trouble.
15:36From the way Taggart
15:37was watching
15:37the trail,
15:38I figured he was
15:39expecting trouble
15:39any time.
15:41And from watching
15:42Condon and Horton,
15:43I had a feeling
15:43something was brewing
15:44there also.
15:46I didn't like
15:46their little secret
15:47powwows.
15:50I got to worrying
15:51that if it all
15:52exploded at once,
15:54nobody would ever
15:55get to see
15:56Gold Creek.
15:56I didn't know
15:57the truth.
15:58I didn't know
16:00how to get to
16:02the dark.
16:02I'm going to be
16:03the dark.
16:03I'm going to be
16:04the dark.
16:05I'm going to be
16:05the dark.
16:06So, let's go.
16:36What is it, Taggart?
16:43We aren't getting any of this quick, are we?
16:45No, don't reckon so.
16:48It just caught a twinkle or something back in the hills.
16:51What do you think it was?
16:53Sun hitting a bit of mica, most likely.
16:56Could also be the sun hitting on a rifle barrel, huh?
16:59Could be.
17:02Move out.
17:06I can't understand why it's so cold.
17:24You were roasting all day.
17:26We've climbed about a couple of thousand feet since yesterday, Ruby.
17:30A higher altitude makes it colder.
17:32Oh, shut up.
17:33I don't need an explanation from you.
17:45And that's another thing.
17:47You better keep a closer watch on your investments.
17:51A couple of more days, and you won't know what direction he's going in.
17:54Well, I think I'll go to sleep.
18:10Good night.
18:11How do we know Taggart ain't putting on this Indian scare just to keep us in line?
18:34As far as he knows, he's got nothing to worry about us.
18:37You know, I caught him giving the hills some pretty sharp looks where he thought no one was looking at him.
18:41And that's all the more reason for us to get it over with now, before somebody moves down on us.
18:46Something that Potter's wife said.
18:48Makes you doubtful who's got the money.
18:50What difference does it make who's got the money?
18:52We get everything, don't we?
18:53Could be in town, you know.
18:54Who with?
18:55A bartender?
18:56What?
18:56You've heard of a banker, huh?
18:59Oh, yeah.
19:00Well, there's a chance we'll have to take, that's all.
19:05Because I ain't going another step into no Indian country, I'm just a chance of more money.
19:08All right.
19:10What about Ruby Potter?
19:12Same as the rest.
19:13What?
19:13You don't think we're going to take her along, do you?
19:16I don't see shooting a woman, Mike.
19:18Well, if it'll spoil your breakfast, Condon, leave it to me.
19:22Because I got an idea that money-grabbing witch is planning on coming out of this alone.
19:27All right.
19:28Let's get it over with quick.
19:30Let's get it over with quick.
20:00We saw your fire and thought you might be able to spare us a little grub.
20:07Doesn't the United States Army feed its cavalrymen anymore?
20:10Well, we got separated from a hot fit in an engine ambush, a day or so ago.
20:15Near Skarsin is Fortifacture.
20:17That's about a hundred miles away, isn't it?
20:20Well, how'd you get here so quick?
20:22Well, we were on a scout mission.
20:24Yeah, about two days out when it happened.
20:26No.
20:26Well, Staggart, we got some company.
20:30Seems like they want to bite a grub.
20:31You two have been trailing us during the day?
20:41Well, I know.
20:42We just spotted your fire about half an hour ago.
20:46Why?
20:46You having an engine trouble?
20:48Not that we know of.
20:49What can you tell us?
20:51We got ambushed by a strong party at Anvil Rock.
20:53You reckon Curtin and me here is the only two that got away.
20:56We've been running from them after a sentence of them.
20:58Sure could use some grub.
20:59Well, come on, I'll poke up the fire.
21:14Yeah, I don't like the looks of this.
21:17There are two men that have been on the run for a few days.
21:20They and their horses look pretty doggone good.
21:24But, but they're cavalrymen.
21:26Yes, and no.
21:28Oh, what do you mean?
21:30They're gears army regulation.
21:32But part of what they're wearing has been picked up elsewhere.
21:37Look, we better go tell Condon.
21:39Now, don't go flying off the handle.
21:41How do we know they ain't in together?
21:43It seems to me Condon and Horton accepted these two pretty easy.
21:48How will we find out?
21:50Well, tomorrow morning,
21:55we'll tell Condon and Horton
21:57that we're aiming on asking the cavalrymen
21:59to stick with us to Gold Creek.
22:02That'll smoke them out in the open.
22:06How so?
22:07Well, if they're in cahoots, they'll agree.
22:09If they ain't,
22:10they won't want to share grub and gold.
22:17Yeah.
22:18Anything keeping you two from riding?
22:41We figured I'm going your way.
22:42Oh, the wrong direction for Fort Apache.
22:46We didn't know.
22:48You know now.
22:51We ain't exactly no hurry to get back to Fort Apache.
22:54Your court-martial for deserting.
23:02Harsh words.
23:03Here's some more to go with them.
23:05You ain't riding our way
23:06because we don't need you.
23:07Now, let's get all our cards up on the table.
23:12The drunken old fool you've got leading you
23:14talks a lot when he's drunk and asleep.
23:16Now, we know what you're out after
23:17and we want in.
23:18You ain't got a chance in hell.
23:21After we overheard you two planning last night?
23:26I think you'd better count us in.
23:29I think.
23:30You've pressed your luck far enough, soldier boys.
23:34Now, let's start riding.
23:35Nice and easy.
23:37Let's start riding.
23:47Horton and me seem to think
23:48there might be something
23:49to what them two were saying
23:50about the engines.
23:51So we decided we'd do a bit of scouting around.
23:54That's a good idea.
23:55We'll catch up later.
24:07Here they come.
24:35Like a couple of prairie dogs
24:53just waiting to be picked off.
24:56Here's where General Horton
25:00passes sentence
25:01on a couple of berserters.
25:02Let's go.
25:04Here you go.
25:06Here you go.
25:06Now, let's go.
25:08Now, let's go.
25:10Mike.
25:41What?
25:44Give me a sign if you're still alive.
26:10Let's go.
26:12They've run out on us.
26:14I'm not putting a thing past them.
26:16We'll know but...
26:20They've run out on us.
26:22Well, I ain't putting a thing past them two.
26:24We'll know but...
26:28They've run out on us.
26:29They ain't putting a thing past them two.
26:31We'll know but...
26:40What happened?
26:44Where the devil have you been?
26:46Oh, shit!
26:56Who got him?
26:57I don't know.
26:58The arrow just came out of nowhere.
27:05Apache!
27:10What happened, Condon?
27:18What happened?
27:19I don't know.
27:21The arrow came out of nowhere.
27:22I didn't see a thing before.
27:23I didn't see a thing after.
27:24That's the Apache's idea.
27:26A fair play.
27:27Then you don't know if there was one or a hundred.
27:29There was only one.
27:30Or Condon wouldn't be.
27:32I knew we should've hung on to those two army men.
27:35What chance have we got now?
27:37Stop your whining, Potter.
27:41Still with us.
27:42How do you know?
27:44Here they are.
27:51Seems like they heard Taggart here talking in his sleep about the gold, huh?
27:55You're dang well making that up, Condon.
27:58Cause I got a notion you were in cahoots with them two.
28:01Condon!
28:02Better save your fighting for the Indians.
28:07You can't gun us down.
28:09You need us now.
28:10He's right, Condon.
28:11He's right.
28:12We've got to take them on.
28:13From here on in I call all the bets, Potter.
28:14So don't tell me what to do.
28:15Could be the party doesn't need you, Condon.
28:16You've been trying to run this show ever since we left.
28:17Maybe I oughta let you find gold, Creek.
28:18Stop it!
28:19If we're ever going to reach that gold, we're going to need all the guns and wits we can muster.
28:26Any of you want to argue against that?
28:28No.
28:29No.
28:30No.
28:31No.
28:32No.
28:33No.
28:34No.
28:35No.
28:45No.
28:46No.
28:51No.
29:01Who are you on, Mrs. Putter?
29:16Why, the side that offers the most.
29:19Would you care to make a bed?
29:21I might.
29:23I have to write it out or I bring it in person.
29:27Try it in person, don't you?
29:31You're a cheap grimp.
29:57This money belongs to me.
29:59He didn't earn it.
30:00Do you know of a harder way to earn it, Putter?
30:03Well, it's not any good to him now anyway.
30:06And what are you acting so righteous about?
30:08You were coming here to get this money yourself.
30:18What have you been up to?
30:20Nothing that concerns you.
30:22No.
30:22What did he do?
30:29Taking this money back from Horton.
30:31Seems like your husband doesn't like people getting killed before they earn their pay.
30:35I don't know.
30:35The price song.
30:43You're right.
30:46You're right.
30:57Let's go.
31:27Let's go.
31:57Let's go.
31:58You run anyway.
31:59If anybody's got any ideas on going back, they're going back without me.
32:03I'm moving ahead, fast as I can.
32:05Let's go.
32:06I reckon we've reached it.
32:16I reckon we've reached it.
32:29Well, checked all my bearings.
32:32And listen, I'm plum mistaken.
32:34We've come to the gold.
32:36Let's get unpacked.
32:38I think your friend Taggart had a few too many to drink along the way.
32:57What do you mean, Ruby?
32:58Well, I'll explain it to you.
32:59Have you found any gold yet?
33:00No, none.
33:01Exactly.
33:02That's right.
33:03Where is all this gold he was talking about?
33:05And where is he?
33:06Out in the bush?
33:07Dead drunk?
33:08I knew it.
33:09I knew it.
33:10I knew I could find the gold here.
33:11Gold.
33:12Gold, gold!
33:14Here it is!
33:15Gold!
33:17There it is!
33:22Gold!
33:27Gold!
33:28There it is!
33:32Gold!
33:37Gold!
33:39Here it is!
33:41Gold!
33:54Hold it.
33:56Hold your fire.
33:58Let's move his body to the brush.
34:07Ruben, you stay here.
34:13We'll go search the brush. Come on.
34:37Let's go.
34:39Let's go.
34:41Let's go.
34:43Let's go.
34:45Let's go.
34:47Let's go.
34:49Let's go.
34:51Let's go.
34:53Let's go.
34:55Let's go.
34:57Well?
34:59Did you find something?
35:01Nothing.
35:03They're all right.
35:05Nothing.
35:06They're all right.
35:07There must be somebody out there.
35:09It doesn't make any sense.
35:10Don't be waiting around for an engine to make sense.
35:12Especially when he's out to kill you.
35:16Old Koo tries for ten years to convince somebody of his gold up here.
35:20When he finally makes it back, he gets one minute to feel it between his fingers.
35:25And he collects himself a tombstone.
35:28I'm...
35:30I'm sorry it had to be him.
35:33Yeah.
35:35I could use a drink.
35:37I'll join you, Jones.
36:03I'll join you.
36:05Keep it up.
36:07I'll join you.
36:08I'll join you.
36:09I'll join you.
36:10I'll join you.
36:14I'll join you.
36:15You'll join me.
36:16Bye.
37:47Hey, Jones.
37:53Jones, wake up.
37:58What did you wake me up for?
37:59There ain't nothing about.
38:01What do you make of it?
38:06Well, one thing for sure, they ain't having no squirt in.
38:10Will they attack?
38:11I don't think so.
38:12How can you be sure?
38:13I ain't.
38:15I'm just going on the superstition that they believe if they're killed at night, they'll never find their way to the happy hunting ground.
38:22It's a lot of consolation, Mr. Jones.
38:24Well, take it or leave it.
38:26I'm going back to sleep.
38:27I don't know.
38:42I love you.
39:12I love you.
39:42Did you ever see anything like this?
39:59We're rich, Ruby.
40:01Rich.
40:01We will be if you'll shut up and keep working.
40:09Look at this nugget, Ruby.
40:10Look at the size of it.
40:11That'd look good on your finger, wouldn't it?
40:13Kevin!
40:15Kevin!
40:19Everybody, don't let me know.
40:20Come on!
40:21Come on!
40:22Come on!
40:23Come on!
40:24Come on!
40:25Come on!
40:26Come on!
40:27Come on!
40:28Come on!
40:29Oh, my God.
40:59She's dead.
41:06Let's get her body out of here.
41:13No use in making targets of ourselves.
41:16Come on, let's go.
41:29Don't you think we ought to put up some kind of marker?
41:37What for?
41:38What?
41:39Because it's usually done, I guess.
41:42Great.
41:42Seems kind of lonesome without a touch of somebody cared.
41:45Oh, you do it then.
41:47I'll go look for Jones Gold, huh?
41:49What are you planning on getting out tonight?
41:53I'm planning on getting out as quick as I can.
41:56How quick is that?
41:58As quick as I can round up all the sacks of gold, Mr. Potter.
42:02Mr. Potter.
42:32Oh, my God.
42:46Oh, my God.
42:51What are you doing there? Watching me.
43:10I wasn't watching you. I just came over to have a little talk.
43:16Well, you talk.
43:17Well, it looks like we're the only two left.
43:22We've got all the gold in the gear.
43:25So?
43:27Well, you've got to admit we're a long way from out of here.
43:30I think we're going to need each other to get out of here with our scouts.
43:34Well, maybe so, and maybe not.
43:39Just getting here cost us two men in the face of a party of seven.
43:42That's where we're coming in. Now we're going out.
43:45Well, I have a strong feeling those Indians aren't going to let anybody out of here that easy.
43:50Not with this gold, they're not.
43:51What use have they got for this gold, huh?
43:54Well, it might be sort of a god or a spirit or an omen to them.
43:59You're a superstitious fool, Potter.
44:02And a coward, besides.
44:07Condon, you know we'll never make it out of here if we try to go it alone.
44:11Yeah.
44:13Now, look, Condon.
44:14You promise me that I go out of here with you and I'll pay you a thousand.
44:18Make it fifteen hundred.
44:22Two thousand.
44:25Condon, you're not leaving me out here to die.
44:27I'm getting out with my globe and I'm getting out.
44:29Do you hear me?
44:29Hold up.
44:30Hold up, Mr. Potter.
44:32Hold on now and relax.
44:35Easy, Potter.
44:37Get yourself down.
44:40We're going to travel light.
44:42We're going to travel fast.
44:43But we're still going to need some handy guns and four good eyes, huh?
44:53You know what I'm going to do when we hit town?
44:55Huh?
44:56I don't know about yourself.
44:57I'm going to buy that saloon.
44:58Yeah.
45:00Can't you like drinking that much, huh?
45:02Oh, no, no, no, no.
45:03I'm going to buy it because of Ruby.
45:06She wanted to buy that place real bad before we came out for the gold.
45:11Yeah, I can just sit around.
45:13Imagine Ruby, all dressed up in a silk dress, walking over to my table and sitting by me.
45:21And I can see all those men just staring at her with envy in their eyes.
45:26Yeah.
45:28Hey, yeah, I'm going to buy that saloon.
45:40I'm going to go to your saloon, Mr. Potter.
45:42I'm going to have that drink.
45:44For old time's sake, huh?
45:53Clondon.
45:54Clondon.
45:55Clondon.
45:55Let's go.
46:25Let's go.
46:55Let's go.
47:25Let's go.
47:55Let's go.
48:25Let's go.
48:55Let's go.
49:25Let's go.
49:55Let's go.
50:25Let's go.
50:55Let's go.
51:25Let's go.
51:55Let's go.
52:25Let's go.
