04:40It's slowly getting a little bit better as we work through the week.
04:42Partly cloudy today.
04:4443.
04:44Windy, but not like crazy windy like it was yesterday.
04:47Yesterday was crazy.
04:48In fact, breezy is more what they're calling it.
04:51So it's still going to be a bit cold, but we will see more sun than we did yesterday as well.
04:54So that should be nice.
04:56Tomorrow, clouds.
04:5742 the high.
04:58Now, we're going to warm up over the weekend, but we have some rain, unfortunately, coming in as well.
05:02Saturday, afternoon rain, high 48.
05:05Sunday, 65 degrees.
05:07Oh, perfect.
05:08I can't even for Sunday.
05:08It's going to rain in the morning, so that's what's happening.
05:12But, you know, figure it out.
05:14You'll work through this.
05:15Let's take a look at traffic, see what's up.

06:04And now, Preston and Steve's news update with Kathy Romano.
06:09Today is Thursday, and it is November 29th.
06:13Good morning, Kathy.
06:13Good morning.
06:14In the news this morning, two women were arrested following a violent altercation in a Cherry Hill Wawa.
06:19A video posted to Facebook is central to a police investigation to the November 17th fight between two younger women and a middle-aged female, which ended in the arrest of the two aggressors.
06:29It's a full-out brawl, if you see the video.
06:30Yeah, it was.
06:31It's crazy.
06:32I mean, and do you know why it happened?
06:34Yeah.
06:35Okay.
06:35So, do you know why?
06:36No.
06:36Okay.
06:37No, I'm interested because Wawa's like, it's like Disney.
06:40It's like the happiest place ever.
06:41Yes, everyone's happy, but not this time.
06:43I wonder if it's because there was a lady in line, and then they opened a new register.
06:47No.
06:47Well, they'll tell you.
06:47No, that's not it.
06:48That's not it.
06:49Destiny Davis and Diamond Howard were arrested by Cherry Hill Police in the parking lot of the Wawa on Route 38 following the incident.
06:55The pair were charged with disorderly conduct and other related offenses.
06:59In court Tuesday, both Davis and Howard were fined $200.
07:02The victim was in line at Wawa case and heard the two females repeatedly using profanity, so she asked them to watch their language.
07:11That's when one of the females started speaking louder, acting extremely aggressive, climbed onto the counter of the store,
07:17knocked over the gift cards, and then started spitting at the victim.
07:20Yeah.
07:21The second woman then...
07:21It's all caught on video.
07:22The second woman then started verbally assaulting the victim.
07:25As well, yelling at her using profanity and spitting at her.
07:29The victim was then physically attacked, knocked down, and repeatedly punched in her head and face.
07:33Wow.
07:33So she kind of doubled down on that.
07:35Yeah.
07:36Absolutely nuts.
07:37But you know what, Case, you mentioned, you know, Disney.
07:40When you and I were at Epcot, we were walking through this area, and there was a group of people,
07:46and they were just F-bombing, I mean, loud, all over the place.
07:49It's a family plan.
07:50And that's where, you know, listen, I'm no, you know, my virgin ears.
07:54Right.
07:55But, I mean, there's a time and place where you just pull back on that stuff.
07:58Just a bit.
07:59Sure.
07:59I really, I wanted to go over and say something to them.
08:02I didn't do it, because these guys look like they would have started doing this type of thing, you know?
08:06It's like, shut up.
08:07What is your problem?
08:08I mean, you do understand that there's some decorum.
08:12Yeah, yeah, yeah.
08:13And basically, you're in a children's amusement park.
08:17That's where you are.
08:19Yeah.
08:19All right?
08:20Like, it was at Epcot, though, so they serve alcohol.
08:23Well, that's the difference.
08:23That's part of it.
08:24You said they seem to be lit up a bit, right?
08:27Yeah.
08:27Oh, yeah, yeah, for sure.
08:28Oh, and like the worst part is.
08:29They were talking about football, too.
08:30They were talking about NFL football.
08:32I was like, oh, man.
08:33Of course.
08:34But they weren't Eagles fans.
08:35But I've been in, you know, not necessarily Wawa, but in a public place like that, and
08:39it's like, you don't have to do that here.
08:41What do you...
08:42Well, also talking loudly.
08:43That's part of it, too.
08:44And people at the Wawa said they were...
08:46It's not like they were just, like, cursing as they were conversing with each other.
08:49They were very loud.
08:50Idiots.
08:50And that's what started the brawl.
08:52In the video, a Wawa employee is seen coming to the victim's aid and breaking up the violence.
08:56A Wawa spokesperson said they are cooperating fully with police.
08:59Cherry Hill Police Chief William Monaghan said police are hopeful that charges will be upgraded
09:04to simple assault by the end of the week, because as of right now, they're just charged with
09:07disorderly conduct.
09:09The cashier was able to fashion two cow's tails into nunchucks.
09:12And, yeah, it's amazing.
09:14I don't know why it cracks me up every time you mention cow's tails.
09:17Well, you only see Wawa.
09:19You do.
09:20What else do you like?
09:21All right.
09:21So in that little...
09:22There's little double bubble gums.
09:25Oh, yeah.
09:25They're always there.
09:26Are they, like, even...
09:27Like, I feel like they're hard.
09:29No, no, no, no.
09:30They're really...
09:30They're good?
09:30Yeah, yeah.
09:31They're really good.
09:31Former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane on Wednesday lost an 11th-hour request
09:37to be given more time before she must report to jail and begin serving her 10- to 23-month
09:42perjury and obstruction sentence.
09:44A county judge moved quickly, turning down Kane's motion about an hour after it was filed.
09:49Kane had sought a hearing or conference saying a brief extension would help her nail down
09:55arrangements for her high school-age sons.
09:57The judge's denial repeated her direction, issued a day earlier, telling Kane to report
10:02by 9 a.m. Thursday to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
10:05Do you know what she tried to use as a reason for staying out, Kathy?
10:08What?
10:09Who is going to move the elf on the shelf?
10:11Aww.
10:11Yeah.
10:12You know what, though?
10:12It makes me sad.
10:13Like, they are...
10:14I know they're teenagers and they're in high school, but, like, they're still...
10:17Their mother is still caring for them.
10:18I mean, she did something wrong.
10:20She's got to go.
10:20But it's sad for them.
10:21It's sad for the kids.
10:22By the way, Steve, those elves move by themselves.
10:23They do?
10:24Yeah, yeah, yeah.
10:25They go back to the North Pole every night and then they come back and...
10:29I had no idea.
10:30Yeah, yeah, yeah.
10:30Well, then send her ass to...
10:31She doesn't need to be out.
10:33Kane was serving as the first woman and first Democrat to be elected Attorney General in
10:38Pennsylvania history when she was convicted in 2016 of leaking grand jury material and
10:42lying about it.
10:43She resigned after being convicted.
10:44She has remained free on bail since her 2016 sentencing, but on Monday, the state Supreme
10:52Court denied to take her up on an appeal case.
10:5652-year-old Kane argued in seeking the delay that she has primary custody of her 16 and 17-year-old
11:02son.
11:02She said the additional time would allow her to solidify arrangements with her ex-husband
11:06and family.
11:07She lives in Scranton.
11:08Apparently, the ex-husband was on board for this as well.
11:11But the judge denied her request, and she is expected to arrive at jail today at 9 a.m.
11:15Wow.
11:16A New Jersey town is threatening to shut down a family's famed holiday light display that
11:21has drawn a lot of attention over the past 15 years.
11:25Tom Apruzzi is going head-to-head with Old Bridge officials to preserve his massive light
11:29show.
11:29The town has told him that he and his wife, Chris, will have to pay $2,000 a night for
11:34security or the town will shut them down.
11:37That's crazy.
11:38Yeah, last year, Old Bridge police received many complaints, mostly regarding traffic congestion,
11:43about the holiday display at 18 Central Avenue.
11:46As a result, the police set up extra detail on the block to help manage the traffic.
11:50Now they want Apruzzi to pick up the tab for this.
11:53The Apruzzi's have been putting on the display at their home for 15 years, which includes more
11:57than 70,000 lights synchronized to music.
12:00Town officials say the increase in crowds and parked cars have led to unsafe conditions
12:04in the area.
12:05Tom calls the fees bureaucratic baloney and a First Amendment issue and has started an
12:10online fundraiser to pay them.
12:12But he says the show will go on starting Saturday, whether or not the fundraiser meets its goal.
12:17Did you see the display?
12:18No, I didn't see it.
12:19It's pretty amazing.
12:20Very impressive.
12:21And Preston and I were watching it.
12:23They have the, he has a number of these trees and the trees will scroll all sorts of images.
12:28Images and, and words and it's, it's pretty impressive.
12:32Pretty amazing.
12:32Yeah.
12:33But you can understand, I mean, if your neighbors, like the, you have these competition shows
12:37on TV with these decorated homes and they're fantastic, but you can understand if you live
12:41on a block where that's going on.
12:43They've spent over a hundred thousand dollars on that display alone.
12:48So yeah, they begin in September setting it all up.
12:51You're right.
12:51They've spent a hundred thousand dollars.
12:53Um, and they say that I think it's just, it's more so the, they're complaining about
12:57the traffic, not necessarily that they're putting on this huge light display.
13:01Yeah.
13:01It was the traffic.
13:02And then they also have to like dispatch people out there.
13:04Well, that, yeah, that's what the police are saying is last year they had to send people
13:07out to help direct the traffic.
13:09So now they're telling this family they got to pay for it.
13:11The light show happens every 30 minutes.
13:13It's free of charge and runs each night from five 30 until 10 PM.
13:17Last year, donations from visitors of the light show went to support homes of homes for our
13:22troops, a privately funded nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom
13:27homes nationwide for severely injured post nine 11 veterans to enable them to rebuild their
13:32lives.
13:33And by the way, each show, each light cycle runs 30 minutes.
13:36Yeah.
13:36Wow.
13:3730 minutes.
13:37Yeah.
13:37So we'll see what happens, but they're, um, they have, I guess, uh, you know, a fundraiser
13:41set up to try to pay for the police to come out and direct traffic in sports this morning.
13:47All sacks are younger.
13:58All sacks are younger.
13:58Joel Embiid had 26 points and 14 rebounds
14:08while leading the Sixers to an easy 117-91 win
14:12over the New York Knicks last night at the center.
14:14I was there for a lot of it,
14:16and I had said to my friend that I was sitting with,
14:19I said, this is really great in the fourth quarter.
14:20I got to see a Philadelphia 76ers game live
14:23and a Bluecoach game as well
14:25because by the end of the game,
14:26there was, like, not one starter on the court.
14:28There was some guy I had never heard of,
14:30this guy Jackson, number 11.
14:31Like, there were all these people I had never even heard of.
14:34I mean, they were just, and those guys were dominating.
14:37That's awesome.
14:37Yeah.
14:38And then Steve heard the post-celebration, right?
14:40Oh, yes.
14:40Everybody leaving.
14:41Oh, I heard everyone.
14:42They were in rare form.
14:44Embiid finished with his NBA best 21 double-double,
14:4721st double-double,
14:48and helped the Sixers improve to 11-1 at home.
14:51J.J. Redick hit four threes and scored 24 points,
14:53and Ben Simmons added 14.
14:54They're home again tomorrow night with a game against the Washington Wizards.
14:58Tip-off is at 7 o'clock.
14:59In other NBA news,
15:00the Cleveland Cavaliers have traded guard and former Sixer Kyle Korver
15:03to the Utah Jazz for guard Alec Burks
15:05and two future second-round picks.
15:0737-year-old Korver has been one of the most pursued available players
15:10on the trade market,
15:12but it looks like he won't be traded back to Philly.
15:14The Flyers are off until Saturday night
15:16when they'll travel to Pittsburgh to play the Penguins,
15:18and the Eagles are still the Super Bowl champs.
15:20And that's what I have for you this morning.
15:22Thank you very much, Kathy.
15:24May I say...
