00:00Hey there we are live in Plymouth City of the Week with WCSX. Plymouth is rolling up on the

00:06Plymouth Ice Festival. It's been going on since 1984 and it basically started out with like

00:12culinary students that were like hey we had to carve ice to decorate food so let's just have an

00:16ice festival and they've been doing it ever since. This is Tyana of Ice Dream. This is your office

00:21right? It's in the freezer. And what's the what's the temperature? It's nine degrees. Literally I

00:29don't think I've ever seen you when you weren't wearing a snow suit which is smart. That's why

00:32she's still alive otherwise it'd be like one cold after another. So you just finished up a big show

00:37they did how many blocks did you use for Dexter? About 135 blocks. 135 blocks and you can see

00:44the blocks behind us that it's crazy and you're doing you said what like another 50 for the Plymouth

00:51Ice Festival? Yes it's coming up this next weekend and so that's where we're carving

00:58already preparing. Yeah for sure so it's like a crazy amount of pieces that get

01:03done. Tyana's not the only artist but certainly you know 50 blocks like she's

01:08holding some down and then you've done bigger pieces but you're grounded for

01:11this year right? Some days you gotta carve the smaller ones. You know yeah yeah so

01:18Tyana's trying to stay on the ground right now because she's had some knee issues

01:22which I got to tell you lady for how physically demanding and the

01:26temperatures that you work in like you're holding it together pretty good.

01:30We trying. You know definitely and then Joel what the hell are you doing? Oh I'm

01:35assisting I'm assisting. Did Tyana ask for your assistance Joel? Well she didn't say put

01:40anything down yet. So on the sculpture what actually is the next step other than not

01:45using that big giant saw that Joel is using? Would you be brushing it off? Oh yes we can

01:56You can feel the call that sheds off. This is great. Like before we took the video Tyana

02:01went and shut off the air conditioning jet engine thing that is like polar blasting

02:07this room at all times and you can see her shavings from doing the ice filters like

02:12she's got her own her own snowstorm going on. Such a pleasure to see you and it's

02:17amazing every single time. So there you go.
