00:00Hey, what's up y'all? It's Dub hanging here in, uh, and actually what is the soundproof

00:06booth for, uh, for Can't Beat Cody. Anyway, uh, we're getting closer and closer to Kix99's

00:11guitar pull. And of course, one of the guitar pull stars we're welcoming back this year

00:16is Scotty McCreary. Today is Scotty McCreary's 30th birthday. So I wanted to share with you

00:21a pretty cool Scotty McCreary story about the first time he ever played Kix99's guitar

00:25pull back in 2011. So earlier that year, Scotty had won American Idol and man, he was just

00:32one of the hottest artists in country music. So we were super excited to have him at Kix99's

00:37guitar pull. Of course, everybody was so excited to see Scotty McCreary that year. And it made

00:43for an interesting time for me trying to leave the building that night. So the show was over,

00:48everybody had gone nuts for Scotty and Martina McBride and Gary Allen and Jared Neiman and Corey

00:54Smith, who were also on the show, but everybody wanted a piece of Scotty McCreary. And I had

00:58never seen anything like this before. So, uh, I was going to leave and I was getting ready to head

01:04out and I was talking to some, some security buddies of ours, some, uh, Richmond County police

01:08officers. And they were like, are you trying to leave right now? And I said, well, yeah. He said,

01:12listen, if you're trying to leave right now, you may want to stick with us because we're trying to

01:16get Scotty McCreary out of the building. Now, after the show, if you've ever stuck around,

01:21you kind of know that the ramp where all the artists come up, usually a lot of people after

01:26the show are there trying to get pictures and autographs and stuff like that. Well,

01:30this was one of the craziest crowds around that gate that I've ever seen. I mean, there were people

01:36probably 20, 30 deep around this gate. And so getting out was going to be a bit of an issue. So

01:44it was kind of nuts because I was walking with Scotty and his dad and there was like three or four

01:51cops. And I felt like I was in Elvis's entourage. It was, it was nuts. And so they get Scotty in the

01:59back of this car and they're driving it up the ramp and they're making everybody move out of the way.

02:04They're like, go to one side, go to one side. We don't want anybody getting hurt. And so they

02:08finally pull Scotty out in this black SUV and people are running down the sidewalk chasing after

02:15this SUV that's got Scotty McCreary in it. So it was one of the only times that I've ever felt like,

02:23hmm, this must've been what it was like to be around Elvis, which Scotty would find that really

02:28funny because he's a huge Elvis fan. So that's one of my funny guitar pull Scotty McCreary stories.
