00:11It is First Responder Friday. We have Christy on the phone. Good morning, Christy. How are you doing?
00:16I'm doing well. How are you?
00:17We are great. So we get to honor your husband, John, today. Let's talk about John.
00:22How does he serve our community as a First Responder?
00:25He's a lieutenant with Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.
00:27And how long has he been doing this job?
00:30Oh, goodness. I'm going to guess 15 years.
00:34Okay, gotcha. And this is something he went into right out the gate, right out of high school, right out of college?
00:40He was originally a volunteer, and then he went to the culinary world and then came back to the fire department.
00:46Okay, gotcha. So I just felt that calling and had to come back. That's great.
00:50Well, Christy, obviously you are married to him. You know him very, very well. What do you think makes him great at his job?
00:55He just generally cares about people. His daughter is actually the one who heard this on the radio and wanted to nominate him.

01:04She just knows that he dedicates his work to helping people, and she is very proud of him.
01:11That's awesome. I love hearing that.
01:12I'm sure he's pretty tired after coming home from his shift. What things does he like to do on his time off?
01:18He loves to cook. He cooks most of the meals for our family and just really enjoys spending time with his friends.
01:27I feel like you've got a keeper here, Christy, because John not only cooks, but also he can take care of people if there's any trouble going on at the house.
01:35A hundred percent. He's a keeper.
