00:00Dave is here with Quick Sports right now on the Rat Race. Dave, what's up?
00:04Okay, let's start with baseball where the Yankees lost to the Orioles last night, 6-3.
00:09Yankee reliever Nick Ramirez gave up three runs and he receives the loss.
00:15The Yanks dropped to 48-39 for the season, still nine games over .500, but they want to win tonight.
00:20The rubber match between the Yanks and Baltimore is this evening in Yankee Stadium.
00:26I'm hoping to get a win because the Orioles right now in second place.
00:29They're the team directly ahead of the Yankees and below the Tampa Bay Rays.
00:34Got to climb up.
00:35Meanwhile, the Mets took down the Diamondbacks 2-1.
00:38Mets got a home run from Francisco Alvarez in the ninth inning that tied the game.
00:44And then Mark Hena drove him home with the winning run.
00:48He hit a triple and that was that.
00:50The Mets win and they improved to 40-46.
00:54Exciting finish for the Mets.
00:56Who now have won four in a row.
00:58I believe four in a row.
00:59Since their owner said, hey, you guys got to do something.
01:03Yeah, because the team's been underperforming.
01:05Not to throw cold water, we're still games, six games under .500.
01:08But you know what?
01:09Let's see if they can make something out of it going forward here.
01:13Phillies defeated the Rays 8-4.
01:15Tywon Walker won his sixth straight start for the Phillies.
01:19And they are 46-39.
01:22So if the Mets want to pick up their game, they have to understand there's six games under .500.
01:27Philly right now, there's seven games over .500.
01:30That's a difference of 13 games.
01:32Yankee cameraman and a Met cameraman, by the way.
01:35And he's from Long Branch.
01:36He was hit in the head by a wild throw from the Baltimore Orioles rookie shortstop, Gunnar Henderson.
01:45Wow.
01:45You okay?
01:47His name is Pete Stendl of the Yes Network and SNY.
01:52He was taken to the hospital.
01:54He was carted off the field.
01:55He did do a kind of like a thumbs up, hang 10 type of situation saying that he was all right.
02:01Oh, good.
02:01But still, he did have to undergo tests at a local hospital and no further updates have been given yet by the network's basketball.
02:10The final four of the NBA's new in-season tournament will take place on December 7th and 9th in Las Vegas.
02:17Say that again.
02:18It's a new in-season tournament that is being patterned after the style of European soccer, like the English Premier League, which hold tournaments midway through their actual regular season.
02:34Is there a prize for this?
02:36I don't know.
02:37They have to release a lot more details.
02:39They simply have announced that this will take place.
02:42It will take place December 7th through the 9th in Vegas.
02:45All teams will participate, of course.
02:48And, yeah, I would like to know what exactly you get because I'm interested if you get something cool.
02:56Like if you get a bye, maybe if you win the tournament, you get like two byes if you make the playoffs.
03:02If it's in-season, I'm going to assume that the games count towards your season total.
03:08I would hope so.
03:09Right?
03:09In college basketball, they do.
03:11You know, when you have a college basketball, before March Madness begins, when they have their conference tournaments, like the Big East tournament, that counts to your record.
03:22Yeah.
03:22So I would hope both so and logically that would make sense.
03:26But I'm interested.
03:27It's probably just going to be a cup that goes around to whatever winner.
03:30Yeah.
03:31I mean, if it's just like some silly little trophy, I mean, you know, okay, I guess.
03:35I don't know.
03:36And then finally, Wimbledon right now.
03:38Andy Murray, the legend, hometown favorite, won his first round.
03:42He is undefeated 15-0 in the first round of Wimbledon, which is something pretty remarkable.
03:51He's a two-time Wimbledon champion, so let's see if he continues.
03:55He would certainly be the story of that tournament.
03:58That's your quick look at sports.
