00:00She is an inspiration to me. She's an amazing friend. She's a phenomenal talent. And of course, Matt Murray's giant man crush. How many people don't have a man or woman crush on the incredible Dorothy? Come on!
00:30Let us open the show with my favorite lady. Ladies and gentlemen, give a warm New Jersey welcome to Dorothy!
01:00She's on video talent all the time. And you know, it's amazing. We're almost a year to the day. Is it almost a year to the day that this came out?
01:07It actually just surpassed the year. We did the one-year-old innovation, which we did or whatever we did with Slack.
01:12I was going to ask you about that. Now let me tell you, you guys were like such a great rock and roll couple on stage.
01:21And I don't mean that in any kind of like a sexual way. I just leave it in an energetic way with a rock star and a guitar player.
01:31And he's such a big star. And let me tell you something. Your presence still is bright and sound.
01:36It's not that easy to stand next to a guy like that and still be bright and sound for your crowd. So that's, you know, your rock star. And you guys were amazing. The chemistry.
01:46It's true. It's so nice. So how did, did all of a sudden you just show that? Or you knew he was founded? Or was there a rehearsal? Or are you talking about like collaborating in some capacity?
02:03That's all I can say about that. But you know, and then, and then it was like, hey, you want to play a song or a show? You'll be there that you'll be around. You know, we'll be in town. So it's like, yeah.
02:13And he's like, yeah. And we've never done this. You're the one ghost. And we debuted it. It was awesome. I messed up the world.
02:18And I didn't even remember that. So, wow. And you know what I, well, you know what I love? Um, he plays with the most amazing, not only singers, but some people, you know, in bands.
02:29So like, I just thought that the two of you were absolutely magic to me. So congratulations.
02:34Yeah. And everyone was so happy. That's why I was saying how my favorite things were. And you're just so busy all the time.
02:42You are such a working musician. You're such a working artist. You're on every festival. You're doing, you know, your own shows.
02:49Talk to me about this last year or two. And, uh, you've just been falling bikes every day.
02:55Yeah. We did a few, we did a few, uh, we did some of the 90 runs. We did some runs with Dirty Honey, um, all throughout the month and about that.
03:02And I started filming for Access TV and I've talked to him with the show.
03:05I did a few music videos. I did several collaborations, which are going to kind of help.
03:12And that's all I'll say about that. Because now we're not going to blow surprise or anything for these awesome artists.
03:17Because you almost fell in the tea.
03:19I always love that. So I personally love that. Because you don't want anything to do anything.
03:24You know, I, I also think, like, now I've seen this interview now that come out in a right way.
03:31If Dorothy was here when MTV was, like, African.
03:37But you were apparel. You would've been like the Mazonia of the Pan Amount and stuff.
03:42You would've been a lot of guys who have been washing dishes, never would've made the chills.
03:46You wouldn't be a much better community to do.
03:48But, I think, right. You'd be, absolutely, like, you would've been the artist that they played as we are in here.
03:53There's no question about it. Because you, though, what happens, you know?
03:57She'd be like, she would've been back in the Middle East.
03:59I'm here now for the reason I'm just trying to tell people, absolutely, absolutely.
04:05Absolutely, absolutely. But I mean, you are just a cold and a complete backside of a whole total complete backside.
04:10So when I talked about your outfit, you look like a rockstar and you're all spugly and...
04:14Oh, thank you! You're so sweet!
04:16Well, it's a good reason so we don't lose tea, so we don't see it all the time of day.
04:20We're kind of at the present time at all times.
04:22It's very true. You have that great, genuine presence on stage.
04:25You know, you get on stage and I'm like, you're too, too.
04:27You have big energy. I'm kidding. You think that's...
04:30Yeah, me and you, me and you. So I also want to talk about the Dorothy Fernandez,
04:38especially here in New Jersey, because you kind of came here and all of a sudden, boom, you just took over.
04:44You, everybody just fell in love with her.
04:48I think that's your fault.
04:49I think you, you posted it.
04:51Yeah, you did work.
04:52All I did was play the music.
04:53I played the music and you did the rest.
04:57I was like, oh my gosh, you're going to make a great take.
05:01So thank you for going.
05:03And yes, I do feel like Dorothy Fernandez.
05:05I have a bunch of people that just are, you know, and I tell everybody, Dorothy's opening the show.
05:11And some people are like, oh my gosh, I'm going to make a great take.
05:13And I'm like, I just, that's not me. Dorothy's opening the show.
05:17Here's the bill that was presented to us.
05:19We love the bill, but she is opening the show.
05:21So make sure you get here early.
05:23And I know that we're going to have some people that are like, oh, we're still in traffic.
05:25It's horrible.
05:26I'm losing the link for that.
05:27Forget it early.
05:28I'm losing the link for that.
05:29Forget it early.
05:30You're going to have some 30 minutes set.
05:32So squeeze your roots.
05:33Make sure you get there.
05:34So let's talk a little bit about, I want to play Gifts Full of Holy Ghost, which I think we're going to do first.
05:37And I'm going to give you a little bit of, like, beautiful life.
05:39Yeah.
05:4030 minutes set.
05:41So squeeze your roots.
05:42Yeah.
05:43Make sure you get there.
05:44So let's talk a little bit about, I want to play Gifts Full of Holy Ghost, which I think we're going to do first.
05:47And I'm going to do beautiful life.
05:49Give me a little bit on those two songs because they get right down into your soul when you hear them.
05:55So tell me about that.
05:56I'm glad because that's what I wanted.
05:58Um, beautiful life is kind of a very personal story about myself, you know, and things I've dealt with them as a nice spiritual message.
06:05I think my favorite lyric is don't let the demons make a die.
06:08It's not a lot of my mind to them.
06:10And you sing it so bright.
06:12Like, there's a greatness in the way that you sing it.
06:14It's not just you're there.
06:15It's not.
06:16It's not.
06:17Don't get up.
06:18Yeah, no.
06:19We want darkness to them.
06:20Right.
06:21And so I, you know, and I guess what the Holy Ghost kind of happened is, like, we wrote it during soundcheck on tour with right of our fleet in Spokane, Washington.
06:28Wow.
06:29Because the road was done with so great.
06:30And, you know, my friend Eli and he was part of the part of the story kind of with.
06:33But then it took me full circle to the end of the album to finish the lyrics.
06:37And, you know, the title track and the albums work.
06:40And it's a rock.
06:41Take it to church some.
06:42Yeah.
06:43And he really is a rocker, but it's that real, amazing, spiritual feeling.
06:48Listen, I'm not gonna let you wear the voice out if you fall there any longer.
06:54But let's get a couple from Dorothy on.
06:56And I love you.
06:57And I cannot wait to see you on bringing you on.
06:58Sorry to open this panel.
06:59I would not.
07:00I will not let anyone else be able to do this one.
07:02Love you.
07:03I hope you see!
07:04I love you DHA!
07:05Always screaming for ourselves.
07:06I know, what
