00:00Wild 94.1, the Bayes Party Station.
00:02What up, what up?
00:02It's your girl, Babs, my guy, Young Pharaoh.
00:05And tonight, Young Pharaoh, we have a special guest in the building.
00:09And you know what's crazy?
00:10I don't think I've ever officially met him for real.
00:15First time for everything.
00:16Right?
00:17Like, we ain't never met.
00:18We like Instagram friends for real.
00:19Yes.
00:20Welcome to the station, Famous Kid Brick.
00:23Woo!
00:24I'm sorry.
00:24Hey!
00:26Yeah!
00:26Get out!
00:27Get out!
00:27Get out!
00:27Get out!
00:27Get out!
00:27All right, Famous Kid Brick, so you have been doing your thing.
00:32You always got heavy motion going.
00:34But who is Famous Kid Brick in 2023?
00:37Like, who are you mentally and as a person?
00:41I'm still myself.
00:42I'm a father now, which is the, like, most newest addition to everything that I've been doing.
00:47So trying to balance fatherhood along with music at the same time.
00:51And it's keeping me more focused.
00:52And I feel like that has brought a lot more success to me.
00:56So I'm going to just keep doing what I'm doing.
00:58Now, you know what?
00:59I just moved here three years ago.
01:01So tell me a little bit more about yourself.
01:02Like, when did you get started rapping?
01:04What part of the area are you from?
01:06Like, let me know.
01:07It's like, I was born in Tampa, raised in St. Pete, went to school in Tarpon.
01:13So, like, my fan base is ridiculous because I've basically been in, like, all of these markets.
01:18You know what I'm saying?
01:19So I've been everywhere.
01:21So I pretty much consider myself being from the Tampa Bay area because everybody just shows me an equal amount of love.
01:27And I've been doing music for about 10 years.
01:30And I feel like this year right here is, like, the closest I've been, like, since I've been doing it.
01:34Now, would you say, like, you really got your start in St. Pete?
01:37Because I did see something where you said, like, or they were talking about how your music used to bubble in the teen clubs out here.
01:43Yeah, for sure.
01:44Definitely started in St. Pete back when MySpace was popping.
01:47Like, I've been doing shows, like, since I was 15.
01:50You know what I'm saying?
01:51Like, I was a kid in school getting paid, like, $250 shows on a Sunday night and pulling up to school late on Monday just because I had a show.
01:58You know what I'm saying?
01:58So I've really been doing music, like, for a long time, never had no job, never had no 9 to 5.
02:04I tried to get a 9 to 5.
02:06Nobody wouldn't hire me.
02:07You know what I'm saying?
02:07I tried to work at shoe stores and stuff.
02:09It just never worked.
02:10So music is, I feel like that's my final destination.
02:13So why do you call yourself Famous Kid Brick?
02:15Like, you used to move bricks or nothing, did you?
02:18Nah, nah.
02:18I just wanted to be, uh, hell nah, nah, for sure.
02:23I just always wanted to be famous as a kid in my last name, Brick House.
02:27So I just kept it original like that.
02:29Um, I think people don't realize that you're a Tampa legend.
02:32Um, I was here on Monday.
02:34Um, I did my President's Day holiday, um, my shift, and somebody called in and said, I want to hear some Famous Kid Brick on it.
02:45And it was funny because when I was telling Babs about it, it's just, like, people don't understand, like, what you did for Tampa culture.
02:51Um, you said you started 10 years ago, 11 years ago.
02:55Um, your song shook the whole city like it never did.
02:59I feel like you gave, um, a lot of artists a platform.
03:02For sure.
03:03To actually believe in themselves.
03:04Appreciate that.
03:05Um, does that feel like a big weight to you?
03:07Like, you feel like, um, you started early, um, shining.
03:10Do you feel like you got a big weight to carry throughout that?
03:13Yeah, it's always, like, because that was then, you know what I'm saying?
03:18Like, now is a different time.
03:19So, you know what I'm saying?
03:20I know I always got those doubters who are like, oh, he ain't gonna do it again, or he not gonna do it.
03:25So, like, with me, it's like, I know what was done back then, but I can still do that now, plus more.
03:31You know what I'm saying?
03:31So, it's like, I just go off people's energy.
03:34And, um, that's why I want to give a big shout out to, like, everybody who's been supporting me since then and now.
03:39Because, like, I thrive off everybody else, along with what I got going on.
03:43Like, I feed off other people's energy.
03:45Now, you can tell you got people fucking with you and that you got a solid team.
03:49Like, who are the guys here with you today?
03:51Are they your day ones?
03:52Like, let us know who you got here.
03:54Um, yeah, a couple of these guys are my day ones, for sure.
03:57A lot of these guys are really talented artists.
04:00A lot of these guys are entrepreneurs.
04:02And, uh, I don't know if I can introduce and say everybody's name, but just know everybody here with me.
04:08They, like, they supposed to be here and everybody's bringing something to the table.
04:11Like, there's nobody around me that's not doing something.
04:15Even if it's something like, oh, Brick, I'll handle that for you.
04:18I'll go to the gas station real quick or something like that.
04:21Somebody's doing something.
04:22You know what I'm saying?
04:23So, everybody you see me with all the time is A1.
04:26Now, the first time I seen you perform was at the Ritz, right?
04:30And then was that a new sound that you have?
04:33Would you say you've evolved, like, in a new sound in 2023?
04:37Yeah, I'm more so now.
04:40I'm making people like what I like.
04:43You know what I'm saying?
04:44Like, opinions are cool.
04:46You know what I'm saying?
04:47But an opinion is just, like, what somebody thinks.
04:50At the end of the day, it's about what you want to do.
04:52So, right now, I'm pretty much just, like, unfiltered.
04:55Doing what I want, and I'm having fun with it.
04:57And people are starting to catch on to, like, okay, this is a Brick-type beat.
05:01Okay, I can hear Brick on this.
05:03So, I heard this song on the radio, it sounds like Brick.
05:05Because I'm creating a new sound, and people are starting to get used to it.
05:09So, I've just been working on it, and I'm just getting better and better.
05:12It was a vibe, but you got my eyelash wet.
05:14Because I like how you, like, wet the crowd up.
05:16You know, like, you really turnt us up.
05:18But you got my fake eyelash wet.
05:19Oh, yeah, oh, damn, oh, you're talking about the water day.
05:23Oh, damn, bro, that was, nigga, bro, I asked for, like, ten bottles that day, bro.
05:29I swear, oh, my God, I'm so sorry about that.
05:32No, it's cool.
05:33Like, I like the energy that you had, and you could definitely tell that you were up there having fun.
05:37Because in a time when it's all this, like, murder music and shit, like, it was just nice to appreciate, like, someone out there hyping the crowd up having fun.
05:44I appreciate that.
05:45So, aside from your energy that you bring to the shows, what differentiates you from different artists?
05:52You know, right now, it's a big area where Tampa artists or Florida artists overall are getting the chance to showcase their talent.
06:00What makes you different versus everybody?
06:02I think with me, I take my time, and I'm very strategic about what I do and how I present it.
06:10You know what I'm saying?
06:11Everybody know Brit Big on presentation.
06:13You know what I'm saying?
06:13Like, you was like, yo, bro, pull up to the station with ten people today.
06:17That was, like, an hour before the interview.
06:19I think I got more than ten people just off that.
06:21You know what I'm saying?
06:22So, it's like, I like to do things, and I like to do it the right way.
06:24So, I think with me, it's about how I take my quality serious, how I take, like, my visuals, how I'm not all music.
06:33You know what I'm saying?
06:33Like, I do promotions.
06:35You know what I'm saying?
06:36And I go take dope pictures and brand and stuff like that.
06:40So, a lot of artists, everybody not willing to do all of that.
06:44Some people just want to be an artist.
06:45So, I'm willing to do and be more than just an artist.
06:48You know what I'm saying?
06:48Like, I could probably get a deal for marketing that's bigger than a record deal.
06:53You know what I'm saying?
06:54So, it's like, I just move different, and I feel like whatever I want to do is going to happen.
06:59I mean, you got a marketing deal now, right, with, like, a couple of clothing stores and stuff.
07:03So, whatever you're doing is working.
07:05For sure.
07:05How did you, you know, what made you get into different bags?
07:10You know, because a lot of people just feel like they want to focus on rap.
07:13What made you realize that you wanted to venture out, you know, get Neiman Marcus on the team and all the different ventures that you have?
07:20It's weird because it's, like, it's stuff that I was already doing.
07:24And it's, like, people are starting to catch on to see, like, okay, we should listen to these people who are in the culture to promote our stuff.
07:33You know what I'm saying?
07:34Because we do it all the time.
07:35You know what I'm saying?
07:36But nobody ever wanted to, like, reach out to certain artists.
07:39So, I feel like people just like the presentation and people like the company I keep.
07:43And I know I got what it takes to make people pay attention.
07:46You know what I'm saying?
07:47If I put my face on it and I say, this is it, even if you don't believe it, by the end of the week, you going to believe it because you done heard so much about it.
07:54You know what I'm saying?
07:55And that's what these companies want.
07:56They want somebody who's going to be on top of their product.
07:58And that's why I feel like a lot of people trust me with their brand.
08:01Okay.
08:02Let's talk about Kid Break in 2023.
08:04We're early in the year.
08:06What can we expect from you?
08:08Any new albums?
08:10A specific song you're pushing right now?
08:12What's going on?
08:13I got a new single dropping March 3rd called Racks.
08:16And then I'm going to just keep doing what I'm doing, dropping song after song, getting the people familiar with famous kid, Britt, because I'm still new to some people.
08:24So I want to just give them a little bit before I just dump a lot and give them a body of work because I want the people to be familiar with at least like two to three songs.
08:32You know what I'm saying?
08:33I'll start to get bubbling the right way.
08:35And then I know they're going to be ready for a body of work.
08:37So the project is pretty much done, but I don't want to give it to them right now.
08:41So a lot of new music, a lot of new endorsements, and a lot of more success.
08:48Any like features of people that we know that you could tell us about?
08:53Can't tell you about the feature yet.
08:55We won't tell anybody.
08:56The new remix coming soon.
08:58Okay.
08:58It's going to be crazy.
09:00Yeah, they ain't going to see it coming.
09:02They just know it's coming.
09:02But yeah, we got that in wraps right now.
09:06Now, are there any Florida artists that you want to work with that you haven't worked with yet?
09:10Who are you listening to now from Florida?
09:13Who would you say is the five people that you're listening to from the Sunshine State?
09:17Dang.
09:18I really don't be answering questions like that because I always be leaving people out and people always be feeling a certain type of way.
09:25But I could just name one good one that I feel like that I just want to get up with is Kodak.
09:32Because he's just one artist who I feel like no matter where you put him at, he's unfiltered.
09:37You know what I'm saying?
09:38Just like me.
09:39You know what I'm saying?
09:39I could go, no disrespect, I can go to the white crowd.
09:43You know what I'm saying?
09:43I go to the black crowd, be corporate, be commercial, go chill in the hood, go post on the block.
09:48I could do all that and Kodak doing the same thing.
09:51So I like to rock with artists who I feel like I can relate to.
09:54I'm not always just like about the music and stuff.
09:56It's always about a vibe to me.
09:58So that's why people don't really see me do a lot of features and stuff like that because it's just like I go off the vibe.
10:04You know what I'm saying?
10:05And that's how I be.
10:06If I feel like an artist want to rock with me, like we end up rocking, but I don't really be like, I don't be on that.
10:10But you got any favorite cities outside of Florida?
10:15Cities.
10:16I like Las Vegas.
10:18I like going to Vegas.
10:19I like Cali.
10:20Why you like Vegas?
10:21For the gambling or for the bitches?
10:22This is the crazy thing, babs.
10:26I don't even gamble.
10:28It's just like the vibe.
10:29Like you don't have to leave Vegas for nothing.
10:31Like everything just lit.
10:32I remember like the last time I was there, it was like the hangover, the movie, no cap.
10:36It's just one thing led to another.
10:37And then we ended off at my dog, Kasky show.
10:40Kasky, a popular artist out of Orlando.
10:42We just ended up seeing Kasky in the casino.
10:44He's like, yo, what you doing tonight?
10:45I'm like, not much.
10:46He's like, yo, I got a show.
10:47And then we ended up going to his show.
10:49And that one thing led to another.
10:50After the party is the after party.
10:52And that's all we going to say about that.
10:54Tell us a little bit about it.
10:56We won't tell nobody.
10:57What?
10:57What is that?
11:00Next question.
11:01Bop, bop, bop.
11:03I mean, no, I love what you got going on.
11:07Like as of late, you know, I just moved here.
11:10I seen that you got your blue check.
11:12Now, how the fuck can we get a blue check?
11:16Do we have to sell pussy?
11:17Do we have to sell our soul?
11:19What is going on?
11:20Because there is a bunch of us here at the radio station that want a goddamn blue check.
11:24And we don't know how to get it.
11:27I got a solution for y'all.
11:28They about to drop a new feature.
11:30They about to say y'all could buy it for $11.99.
11:33No!
11:33But we want that shit to be official.
11:35Can we get on that real quick?
11:37Because, like, don't, Babs, don't do it.
11:39You know what I'm saying?
11:39If you hang around me, don't do it.
11:41You know what I'm saying?
11:41Because it's like I work hard for that.
11:44You know what I'm saying?
11:44So I'm going to feel a certain type of way about it.
11:47You dig what I'm saying?
11:47So I'm looking at it like that can't happen.
11:51But if you really want to get verified how I did it to keep it short and sweet, you got
11:54to get the press.
11:55You got to get the articles.
11:56You got to be active.
11:58You know what I'm saying?
11:58When you submit, they want to make sure that you're this person and you're doing what you're
12:03sending in.
12:04You know what I'm saying?
12:05So it's all about being active, being consistent, and having the right press and doing everything
12:09at the right time.
12:10So you ain't going to fuck with me no more if I buy the blue check, bro?
12:13I don't know, Babs.
12:16I don't know.
12:17But nah, I mean, they doing it for a reason.
12:20So I know a lot of people going to do it.
12:22It's just they better separate it to where they know who had it and who just got it.
12:27That's the only thing I'm mad about about it.
12:29You know what I'm saying?
12:30Because it's like, dang, we done caught up this quick, bomb for $11.99.
12:33Like, no, bro.
12:35It can't be that easy, bro.
12:37Like, come on, express what?
12:41So every time we touch in with an artist, we always get in the subject of the snitching
12:45situation.
12:46You know, it's a big subject in the industry.
12:50A couple of days ago, Boosie jumped on an interview.
12:54He said that T.I. is considered a snitch for blaming a...
12:58His dead cousin.
13:00Yeah, a crime on his dead cousin.
13:02Would you consider that snitching?
13:05Bro, first off, can we laugh about that real quick?
13:08That is crazy.
13:10Oh, that's like, nah, bro.
13:14Like, this is dead man's.
13:17You know what I'm saying?
13:18Like, you got to leave that alone.
13:20You know what I'm saying?
13:21But I don't really know too much about the situation and how it even got to that.
13:25So I can't really speak on it.
13:27But the instant logic, the smartest about it is like, okay, the dude's gone.
13:33So why are we even talking about it?
13:34Exactly.
13:35You know what I'm saying?
13:35I don't know.
13:36You know what I'm saying?
13:36Boosie.
13:36I fuck with Boosie.
13:37I ain't trying to get, you know what I'm saying?
13:39I fuck with Boosie.
13:39You know what I'm saying?
13:40But nah, bro.
13:41Yeah.
13:41So do you think your snitching gets deleted?
13:44So like, if I snitch at 15 and now I'm a grown woman, am I still considered a snitch?
13:50If you snitch at 15?
13:52Like, does it count?
13:52You asked me, does it count at 15?
13:54Yeah.
13:54You know how Drea said?
13:55You're like in the 10th grade.
13:56Okay, so it still counts.
13:58Yeah, it's that snitching.
13:59You get a bit in trouble at 15.
14:02Well, because you know, Drea said like your wholeness deletes after a while.
14:06So I was thinking about like how your snitching deletes.
14:10Once a hoe.
14:11For real, right?
14:13Once a hoe is a hoe.
14:14At 15, you can still be a snitch.
14:17End of discussion on that.
14:18That's crazy.
14:19Okay.
14:20Let's talk about your trip to Atlanta.
14:23Tell us about it.
14:24I was doing a writing camp.
14:26Okay.
14:27Yeah.
14:28A lot of people don't know what a writing camp is.
14:29That's when you link up with different producers and songwriters and get the best vibe.
14:36Like you guys create bigger records than what you were already doing.
14:39Like my dogs know.
14:40I go in the booth.
14:41I freestyle songs.
14:42I get songs done in 15 minutes.
14:44But I went to Atlanta for a reason.
14:46I wanted to create bigger records.
14:47So I linked up with some songwriters who worked for like Chris Brown, Ty Dolla Signs,
14:52and a whole bunch of other bigger artists.
14:53And we all just was throwing ideas back and forth and came up with some crazy records.
14:57And they more so sound like album records.
14:59So you guys probably going to hear those till like May.
15:01Now, you got any like people in a building that you've signed or that you are looking to like,
15:09you know, make music with or who have you that you have made music with?
15:13Yeah, I got my producer, Skills, my bro Chris Streets, Heavy Lyrics.
15:18They got their own motion going on.
15:20But we all just, you know what I'm saying?
15:22We busy, but we get together when it's time to get together.
15:24Ben Frank and my dog right here.
15:27We got Pretty Boy Kia Artist, Philo in the cut.
15:30Catch Moolah in the back.
15:31He a director.
15:32All these guys are my friends.
15:34They music artists, directors, everybody just doing their thing.
15:37As far as me getting a label, I do have that in mind.
15:41But I know the attention, like I'm an artist myself.
15:44So I know what people think when they feel like, okay, I'm about to get picked up by Brick.
15:48It's going to go from here to here.
15:50Just like this, I'm going to be doing everything Brick do.
15:53No, you dig what I'm saying?
15:54I want to be able to do that for people, though.
15:57So whenever I'm in a position to like just push the green light instead of just a cosign,
16:01you know what I'm saying?
16:02Then I have my label.
16:03Now, how do you stay safe?
16:06Because, you know, they say like being a rapper is probably one of the most dangerous jobs now.
16:11What are the steps you take to make sure you don't get put in walkie situations?
16:16I ain't gonna lie.
16:17I be scary, but no cap.
16:19Like, I move different.
16:21Everybody say I move weird, but I move weird for a reason.
16:24I pull up with security to like the most weirdest places.
16:28Like, oh, they be like, you ain't even have to do all that.
16:30But I do.
16:31You know what I'm saying?
16:31Because it's just a different time right now.
16:33I feel like I ain't have to have security today because I pulled up like 20 people.
16:38But any other time I'm pulling up like that, like I'm extra as hell.
16:42Like I go to the mall with my daughter and my wife and you know what I'm saying?
16:45I'm pulling up like with security.
16:46I don't be playing that because I don't got time to be like even me having to do it myself is putting me in danger.
16:54You know what I'm saying?
16:55Like, if I got to do it for myself, I'm going to stand on that and I'm going to have to do it by myself.
17:00But if I can prevent it, I'm going to prevent it every time.
17:03You know what I'm saying?
17:04So that's how I move.
17:05You got to move like that.
17:07It's just that type of time right now in this rap game.
17:09You just never know who want to get you.
17:11You know what I'm saying?
17:12I feel like I don't got ops.
17:13I don't got beef with nobody.
17:14You know what I'm saying?
17:15But it'd be the people that you might not even see it coming.
17:18Yeah.
17:19And it's crazy because like, you know, a lot of the past couple of rappers really didn't have ops either from what we know.
17:25Yeah.
17:25Yeah.
17:25For sure.
17:26You know, so it's just it's real scary.
17:27So I'm glad that you taking steps to stay cautious.
17:30I know a lot of, you know, dudes that I know they'll say, don't post me right now.
17:35Like we going to post where we at after the fact.
17:37Yeah.
17:37We be doing that sometimes for sure.
17:39I just won't post at all.
17:41Right.
17:41I think what people don't know about you is you're pretty direct with your videos.
17:48Let's talk about your production team, who they are and who you work with right now.
17:52Trenches Media.
17:54That's my boy Keshe sitting behind me.
17:56Devin and my main cameraman, MidKid6.
18:00I've been working with MidKid for like seven to eight years.
18:04And that right there says enough because we work well together.
18:08He lets me do me and he does what I need out of him.
18:11And I'm very hands on with my work.
18:13I would say I direct damn near everything.
18:16You know what I'm saying?
18:17But I just that's just how I am.
18:19I just know what I want out of my vision.
18:22So that's how I give it 110 percent every time with the visuals.
18:25Who gives you inspiration when you go back home on a bad day and you got to regroup your thoughts and who you are as an artist?
18:33What do you look up to and be like, yo, like that's that's that's where I see myself or that's where I'm trying to head to?
18:38Like, um, I don't really be looking up to people like that.
18:42It's like as weird as it sounds like I'm just at the point right now I've been doing this so long.
18:47Like, I just it's just how I feel about it.
18:50You know what I'm saying?
18:51Like, if I know I got to do better, I'm going to do better.
18:55You know what I'm saying?
18:55And I may scroll through some of my IG and be like, yo, that was hard.
18:59I definitely want to do that.
19:00But I don't really be having nobody to like I don't just like go look at something because that's what I'm I know what I want.
19:06You know what I'm saying?
19:06Like, I know I want to be that.
19:08So any fault is on me at the end of the day.
19:11You know what I'm saying?
19:12So it's like I don't ever want to let myself down.
19:14So anytime I just get in that mode, I'll just be like, break it tight enough.
19:17You know what I'm saying?
19:17And just get up and just do what you got to do.
19:19Well, we're just coming off of Valentine's Day, and I heard that you said you were married.
19:25OK, so I know your boo probably give you inspiration.
19:30So shout your boo out.
19:31You know, she give you inspiration.
19:32Shout out to little Chels, man.
19:33You already know what the fuck going on.
19:38So when it comes to wifey and this whole 50-50 conversation, how do you feel about that?
19:44Do you pay 100% of the bills or she got to pull her half of the weight?
19:47I mean, see, this is the thing.
19:51You got real girls, and you got little girls, and you got girls' girls.
19:56See, I got a real girl.
19:57OK.
19:57Even though I'm down to do everything, she might be like, hey, baby, I got this this month.
20:03Or, hey, I got this.
20:04You know what I'm saying?
20:04Just because that's what she want to do.
20:06I'm already doing it.
20:07You know what I'm saying?
20:08And it's like, damn, you want to help?
20:11I'm going to let you help.
20:12Like, what the fuck?
20:12Like, nigga ain't finna be like, hey, you keep don't worry about it.
20:15Sometimes I do say don't worry about it.
20:17But this is the thing, though.
20:19I've been with my girl for 10 years.
20:21So it's like, niggas ain't really on the type of time that I'm on on this relationship shit
20:26because I done been through all that little shit.
20:28You know what I'm saying?
20:29We here with it now.
20:30So it's like, we know how this shit go.
20:32You know what I'm saying?
20:32Like, she going to do it.
20:33I'm going to do it.
20:34You did it.
20:35That's 50-50.
20:36You know what I'm saying?
20:36Like, she look at it like, nigga, you ain't got to do everything for me.
20:39I got my shit together.
20:40You know what I'm saying?
20:41I got my shit together.
20:42So why the fuck we ain't making the ends meet?
20:45Facts.
20:46You know what I'm saying?
20:46No, I feel that.
20:47Holidays be coming up.
20:48You know what I'm saying?
20:48You ain't doing everything your girl want to do shit for you.
20:50It's the same shit with the bills.
20:52Now, you also have a daughter.
20:54Have you changed, like, the way you speak about women, talk about women since having a baby girl?
21:00Dang, I wanted to say something real funny right there.
21:03So I was about to take off, but, um.
21:06Oh, my God.
21:07No, say it.
21:08Go ahead.
21:08Oh, no.
21:08These bitches are still bitches.
21:10Oh, no.
21:11For real.
21:12Take it back.
21:13That's what it is.
21:14I swear.
21:14My girl, my girl still.
21:16My girl be like, you got to stop doing that.
21:18But it's like, now it's a different type of time.
21:21These girls are doing things, like, where it's like, they're asking for it.
21:25You know what I'm saying?
21:26It ain't like how it was where the morals are there.
21:28It's like people selling shit online, people doing this.
21:31And I ain't knocking it.
21:32You know what I'm saying?
21:33That's cool.
21:33Everybody got to do what they do.
21:34But it's just a different time and time.
21:36You know what I'm saying?
21:36So they still get deserved to call out of their names sometimes.
21:39They calling us out of our names sometimes, making us mad.
21:43So it's the same energy both ways.
21:45No, I feel that me and Farrell had a conversation with Jimbo World and Golden Boy.
21:50And they kind of aligned themselves with how he thinks.
21:53Like, they rather keep it real with their daughters versus, like, sugarcoat and stuff.
21:57You know?
21:58So they tell their daughters the real about how dude's going to be out here in the street.
22:02So that kind of sounds like where you're going with it.
22:05Yeah, yeah.
22:05For sure.
22:06Definitely got to keep it real with your kids when they're able to understand, like, the definition of realness.
22:11You know what I'm saying?
22:12Because it's like, it's a different type of time.
22:14Like, they can't get raised like how I was raised back in my day.
22:17You know what I'm saying?
22:18Like, everything's happening so fast.
22:20You know what I'm saying?
22:21Like, these little 13-year-old girls looking like they're 22 and stuff now.
22:25Like, back when I was in school, everybody was looking their age.
22:27Everybody was wearing certain clothes.
22:29And everybody was happy, happy, happy.
22:31Now they in school with racks.
22:33You know what I'm saying?
22:34Car, cars, selling weed, doing everything.
22:38Like, you really got to talk to your kids at this time.
22:41At this time.
22:42Because it's a whole different time.
22:44You know what I'm saying?
22:44As an artist from Tampa who's traveled outside of Tampa, what do you think we're missing here in our music community?
22:52In our music community?
22:54Music community, I feel like everybody good.
22:56Everybody dropping hot music.
22:58I feel like we more so missing the business in Tampa.
23:01And not just an outlet for the talk about business things to go down.
23:07Just, like, the hub of consistency of business.
23:11Like, people doing more things to bring more attention to the area.
23:15Sometimes it's not just all about the artists.
23:18Everybody else got to step it up, too.
23:19You did.
23:20Like, we need to have the promoters doing, promoting things that make sense.
23:23You know what I'm saying?
23:24Like, especially, like, if we from the city, like, we could book something where everybody can come together and benefit off of it.
23:31You know what I'm saying?
23:31But it's, like, I don't know.
23:33I just feel like everybody not going to get on the same page until somebody does it the right way and projects it when they in that position.
23:42Yeah, no, I absolutely agree with that.
23:45And I also feel like it has to be something where, you know, someone checks shit.
23:50You know, I don't know if I'm saying it right.
23:52But I know there is a big artist who signed.
23:55I went to their album release party in Miami.
23:59Why the fuck wouldn't you have it in Tampa?
24:01You know what I'm saying?
24:02Like, that stuff needs to be brung to her or his attention.
24:06Also, I feel like a lot of times a lot of these big artists come and run rampant through the city where I'm from Detroit, right?
24:13So a lot of times, like, trick, trick.
24:15Like, I'm not saying, like, you got to do the no-fly zone, but he wants to make sure that artists are breaking bread with the up-and-coming artists in Detroit, whether they open, you know, open up for you at the arena or you do a song with them.
24:27So it needs to be some type of culture.
24:29And I don't know who would do that.
24:31But I think you're right.
24:33It needs to be somebody that gets on that'll make that happen.
24:36Right, just something for the city.
24:38Like, we know it's for the city, and, like, we expecting it on a consistent basis, and we know, like, this guy's doing this for that.
24:44It's got to be somebody who, you know what I'm saying?
24:49And we benefit off of it.
24:51Yes.
24:52And I'm not from here, so I know people are like, what the hell is she doing speaking of open culture?
24:56But I just think that it'll help.
24:58Like, I feel like it'll help.
24:59Once one person gets on, it'll help us all get on.
25:01But we all just got to stick together and none of this, like, division shit, you know?
25:06It's all it's going to take is the right person trying to be one of them guys.
25:10Yes.
25:11So Famous Kid Break, 10-plus years in the industry.
25:14What would Presidente Break tell himself if you could go back in time and have a conversation with yourself?
25:21Go back in time.
25:23I just feel, I mean, if I would go back in time, I just wish it would have happened sooner.
25:29But I look at it like God don't make mistakes.
25:31And I feel like he's giving me all those years of momentum back right now.
25:37So it's like I can't really complain on it.
25:39But I just wish back then it just would have kept going.
25:44You know what I'm saying?
25:45I never was like, I didn't go back down.
25:47It was like I always was working.
25:49You know what I'm saying?
25:49And who stuck with me is still with me.
25:51You know what I'm saying?
25:52So I ain't lose nothing.
25:53But I just wish it would have happened sooner.
25:56That's it.
25:56I just had dinner with Joey Franchise yesterday.
26:00And he told me that you guys are working on some stuff this year.
26:04And he just talks so highly of you.
26:06And I was like, oh, my God.
26:07Like me and Farrell are interviewing him tomorrow.
26:09Because, you know, from the outside looking in, like you kind of look like a stuck-up person.
26:14But you're cool.
26:15Like the vibes, you know.
26:17That's the, um.
26:18The vibes are great.
26:20Like you're open.
26:20Yeah, that's the vibe I like to give off, though.
26:21Great interview.
26:22Like, I'm not accessible like that.
26:25And that'd be a problem to a lot of people.
26:28They can't get next to me.
26:29So that's why a lot of people be mad.
26:30Or you just, like you said, you see me on Instagram.
26:33And I know how I'm giving it up on Instagram.
26:35You feel what I'm saying?
26:36So I'm cool with that.
26:38But it's like when you meet me, that's how I get people to rock with me.
26:42Because I'm totally not that guy.
26:45I'm a family man.
26:46I keep good company.
26:48And I'm approachable.
26:50I know how to communicate with people.
26:51Like, I'm a cool dude.
26:52I don't be on none of that.
26:54It's just like, that's what y'all think.
26:56Then, you know what I'm saying?
26:57But when you get with me, that's the shocking factor.
26:59He's not like that.
27:00And then you go tell this person, nah.
27:02He wasn't like that.
27:03I was just with him.
27:03Like, that's what I'll do it for.
27:04I can't wait to tell my friend who wanted me to ask you some, like, sock questions.
27:08I'm like, girl, he is married.
27:09We talked about his wife, okay?
27:11Oh, yeah.
27:11Yes.
27:12So, no.
27:13Oh, yeah.
27:14I'm fine with that.
27:16No, but, all right.
27:172023 is a big year for Famous Kid Brick.
27:19We are so proud of you here at WOW 94.1.
27:22I was actually going back and looking at some of the beginning videos that you did coming
27:26through to the station.
27:27Max, it's my little home right here.
27:29Little stomping grounds.
27:30I done been through everybody.
27:32I'm like a little WOW 94.1 whore.
27:35Everybody who was here, I done probably did an interview with that.
27:38Yeah, so, excuse my assumptions, but that's why they say assumptions and, you know, are
27:43like assholes, but everyone has one.
27:46But meeting you, it definitely has changed my perspective on everything, and this was
27:51such a good interview.
27:52Appreciate it.
27:53And proud of you getting into all your bags this year, and you are going to be that person,
27:58like you said.
27:58For sure.
27:59I appreciate it.
28:00Thank y'all for having me.
28:01Yes, sir, man.
28:02Definitely, I want to give you your flowers, what you've done to the industry, what you've
28:08done for Tampa.
28:09I feel like a lot of people are not comfortable giving somebody the flowers and letting them
28:15know, hey, listen, you paved the way.
28:17And a lot of artists that are here in this room are fans of yours and still are fans of
28:22you.
28:22So, thank you for coming to the station, man.
28:24Yeah, I appreciate it.
28:25Famous Kid Break and the Bad with Babs.
28:27Ay!
28:28Woo!
28:28Ay!
28:29That's what I'm talking about.
28:30Oh, yeah.
28:31Thank y'all.
28:34Good job.
