00:00Now, for folks when you head out towards Lake Orion, or this morning, I forgot we got them here today, and I kept saying Lake Orion on the air is a smartass.
00:08Boy, that's going to bite me, guys.
00:10The Veterans Memorial is stunning in Lake Orion.
00:14Hey, Chris, come on up.
00:18Our friend Chris here, I want to tell you more about this memorial, how you can get involved, and what it means.
00:23Thank you, Jim, and thank you, everyone.
00:25My name is Chris Barnett, I have the Orion Township suit, oh, Orion, Orion, I threw you, I'm sorry, that's it, Orion, that's it.
00:35We're actually working with the Constellation, we're trying to change the Constellation to Orion's Bounce.
00:41We're in some process.
00:44We live in the greatest country in the world, and it's not because of what happened yesterday.
00:52Anybody know what happened yesterday?
00:53Anybody like me stay up until like 2, 3 in the morning, like a nerd, me?
00:58It's not because of those people, it's not because of me.
01:03Electeds, I'm not saying like, it's because of you.
01:06I am so grateful to be here today.
01:09You guys are heroes, and as a country, we don't thank you enough.
01:13So, first of all, thank you.
01:15Thank you all for serving.
01:16There is a lot of noise in our world, especially when you tune your radio dial.
01:26But it is so refreshing that these guys, Big Jim and Orion, actually use their platform for so much good.
01:34So, I'm honored to be here.
01:36Thank you for what you do, for looking out for the people that need to be looked out for, that deserve to be looked out for.
01:43And I'm from Lake Orion, and we have, I'm a little biased, but we have the nicest, but mostly, most well-kept memorial in the state.
01:54It is beautiful.
01:55Raise your hand if you've ever been to our memorial.
01:57A few of you.
01:58So, homework for the rest of you.
02:00It's only about 30 minutes from here.
02:02It's beautiful.
02:04It's on Lapeer Road.
02:05It's right as you enter downtown Lake Orion.
02:08And we have had so much support over the years.
02:10And I'm joined today by Steve and Ron.
02:14And these two gentlemen literally have given thousands of hours of their time and taken zero dollars and, in fact, donated so much of their time, talent, and their own treasure to make this memorial one of the greatest memorials in the state.
02:31It really is.
02:32It's beautiful.
02:32We just renovated these two guys, basically, and one other gentleman, Bob, with their own time and money, built a new victory guard that we're celebrating, the contributions of women in war.
02:43There's a really cool tribute to Rosie the Riveter.
02:46So, we'd love to have you come visit, because only three of you have been there.
02:50But today, very briefly, we want to celebrate someone that is so deserving.
02:55We have over 2,000 bricks that people can purchase to remember someone that served, someone in their family.
03:04But today, we're recognizing someone in our extended family, and that's the gentleman right behind me, Big Jim.
03:10What are we doing?
03:11Well, we're doing something.
03:12Come on up here.
03:16You're already here.
03:17Stand it up.
03:18So, we are going to be adding this really cool brick in honor of Jim O'Brien, Radioman, 2nd Class, sub-qualified, USS John C. Calhoun, six patrols of 60 days underwater.
03:39That's why he's a little bit pride runs G in the submarine service.
03:45So, Jim, you have been such a great friend to our veterans, but also us in Lake Oregon at our memorial.
03:52So, this is just a small tribute, and these two gentlemen are the brains behind this, so you can thank them, not me.
03:58So, Jim, thank you so much.
03:59God bless you.
04:07Thank you, sir.
04:08God bless you.
04:09I need a good picture.
04:10Thank you, man.
04:10Thank you, buddy.
