A gloomy afternoon for some with the cloud holding on in the southeast, Midlands and parts of South Wales into tonight. A front will bring persistent rain to the far northwest. Clearer elsewhere with temperatures generally above average for the time of year, although cooling down this evening where skies are clearer. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the afternoon of 15/01/2025. 00:00Hello there, good afternoon. Well, after quite a foggy frenzy for some of us this morning,
00:05it is going to be brightening up, but not quite everywhere, particularly across the
00:08far south and south east, where yes, we do have high pressure dominating, but there's
00:12lots of moisture trapped under this high, so lots of cloud and foggy conditions here.
00:16And also starting to see some rain and drizzle later creep into the far north west as this
00:20frontal system starts to move in here, and a bit windier here too. But as I say, there
00:24should be plenty of sunshine around by the afternoon, particularly across Northern Ireland,
00:28parts of Scotland, northern parts of England and Wales too, so should see plenty of sunshine
00:33by this afternoon. But that cloud is going to be sticking around, particularly across
00:36the south east, some quite murky and grey conditions lingering on here. And also more
00:41cloud across the far north west too, as we do start to see that frontal system edge its
00:45way in. Could also see some drizzly conditions by the afternoon. But on the whole, temperatures
00:50widely above average, so it is going to be feeling mild for the time of year.
00:55Heading into the evening, we're going to see fairly similar conditions, a mix of clear
00:59spells and also some cloud. Once again, the bulk of that cloud across the far south and
01:03south east. Once again, some quite grey and murky conditions developing here, likely to
01:08see some fog through the early hours of the morning too. And also a bit more cloud still
01:12across parts of Scotland. And where we do see those clearer spells across Wales, northern
01:16parts of England, it is set to turn rather chilly. But across the far north west of Scotland,
01:21still remaining very mild overnight too. Then heading into tomorrow, a fairly similar day.
01:27Once again, likely to see some foggy conditions across the south and south east. Perhaps a
01:31bit more across central and eastern areas of England too. Also more in the way of cloud
01:36across Northern Ireland and parts of Scotland. But there is still going to be lots of dry
01:40weather around. Once again, brightening up across parts of Wales and northern England,
01:43where we're likely to see some sunny spells. But still mild in places. Once again, the
01:48far north of Scotland still seeing relatively mild conditions for this time of January.
01:52But elsewhere, it is going to be a slightly cooler day on offer. That is everything from
01:57me. Don't forget for day-to-day updates to subscribe to our YouTube channel. Otherwise,
02:01bye-bye for now.
