00:48Una delle cose più difficili per gli italiani che stanno imparando l'inglese è la pronuncia di alcune lettere o di alcuni suffissi della lingua inglese.
01:01Oggi ci concentreremo sul suffisso ISM che in inglese è pronunciato ISM.
01:08Questo suffisso è presente nelle quattro parole che sto per elencare.

01:29If you want to check in into an hotel, I've got four sentences that you'll find useful.
01:33The first one is you go there and you say I have a reservation under the name and then you add your name of course.

01:58We're going to talk about some English idioms that people don't usually understand because they also have a literal meaning.
02:05The first one is to throw in the towel and it literally means that you get a towel and you throw it into something.
02:12Instead, the idiomatic meaning of it is to surrender and so it's when you stop doing something.
02:19So for example, this exercise is so difficult, I decided to throw in the towel.
02:25The second one is back to the drawing board and even if it makes you think of somebody drawing on a board,
02:32it's actually something that happens when a plan goes to a failure and you have to go back to the moment in which you were thinking of the idea
02:41because you have to come up with a new one.
