00:31Ukrainians are in mourning after at least 35 people, including children, were killed in a Russian attack on the city of Sumi on Palm Sunday.
00:42It was the second large-scale Russian attack to claim civilian lives in just over a week, striking an area housing a number of religious buildings, according to Ukraine's emergency services.
00:55The attack has sparked international condemnation, which was welcomed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who called for more pressure on Russia to end the war.
01:15They are in Moscow right now. And if there is not enough pressure on Russia, they will continue to do what they are used to. They will continue to fight.
01:30Meanwhile, Russia has claimed the missiles were targeting Ukrainian military commanders and their Western colleagues in Sumi, insisting its forces only strike military targets.
01:42The European Union has announced a financial aid package of up to 1.6 billion euros to support Palestinians and fund development initiatives in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.
01:59Over the course of two years, more than a third of the funding will go directly to the Palestinian Authority, aimed at improving financial sustainability, democratic governance and private sector development.
02:13A program aims to support the Palestinian people in building sustainable future.
02:19It's about governing capacity. It's about advanced economic recovery. It's about strengthening the resilience of the private sector.
02:27The announcement came as Israel expanded its offensive across Gaza over the weekend, striking a hospital in Gaza City and forcing patients to evacuate as attacks intensified across the Strip.
02:43Israel's military said in a statement it has struck more than 90 militant targets within 48 hours, including command centers, tunnels and weapons.
02:55Greece has signed an agreement with France for the purchase of 16 anti-ship missiles as part of its mission to bolster its defense through arms procurement.
03:06Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias formally signed the deal in Athens on Monday alongside his French counterpart Sebastian Le Corneau.
03:16It's the latest in a series of purchases of military equipment from France and comes as Athens has said it will space for the 18th century.
03:23Greece is the latest in a series of purchases of military equipment from France and comes as Athens has said it will space for the 18th century.
03:31It's the latest in the next decade to modernize its military.
03:38The program is largely aimed at addressing tensions with neighboring Turkey amid their long-standing disputes over boundaries in the Aegean Sea and Eastern Mediterranean.
03:51Hungary's parliament has passed an amendment to the constitution that allows the government to ban public events by LGBTQ plus communities.
04:16The amendment declares that children's rights to moral, physical and spiritual development supersedes any right other than the right to life, including the right to peaceful assembly.
04:28The amendment, which required a two-thirds vote, passed along party lines with 140 votes for and 21 against.
04:37Legal scholars and critics are calling this another step towards authoritarianism.
04:43It was proposed by the ruling Fidesz-KDNP coalition led by Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
04:50Hungary's centrist Momentum political party MPs and activists attempted to block government MPs from entering parliament to vote, but police intervened.
05:01The amendment upholds a ban on public LGBTQ plus events, including Budapest Pride.
05:08Libby Morales, U.S.
05:11I think this has a fundamental thing that I realized that in my mind,
05:16I can't believe that I have a strategy that I have to do with it,
05:20and I can't do it as a national system,
05:23and I think that is what we think of it as a society.
05:26I think that Hungary has already experienced it at the moment,
05:29that we have to move on democracy.
05:32I think that it will be the most convenient,
05:34but that we have to move on to a society.
05:35It is not a good way.
05:41Budapest's mayor, who spoke at the protest, called on people to gather for pride, which
05:50he said will be bigger, freer and prouder than ever before.
06:00US President Donald Trump claims he's fixed inflation, despite the recent market turmoil
06:06triggered by his enactment of global tariffs.
06:09We have to solve problems, and we already solved inflation, if you look at the numbers, the
06:14numbers are incredible actually, stock market's up, and we're not letting other countries take
06:21advantage of this country like they have for the last 40 years.
06:25His remarks follow the release of the latest monthly consumer price report, which shows
06:30a 2.4 per cent inflation rate for March.
06:33It also comes after the US President offered an exemption to Apple and other technology
06:39companies, prompting global stock rises after another tumultuous week.
06:44Trump has since announced he might temporarily exempt the auto industry from tariffs to give
06:49car makers time to adjust their supply chains.
06:53However, many economists remain reluctant to view a single consumer report as evidence of
06:59a broader trend, and continue to fear that Trump's tariffs will raise prices and harm the economy.
07:06Trump has since announced that Iran is a global economy.
07:08Talks between Iran and the US over Tehran's rapidly advancing nuclear program appeared ready
07:14on Monday to leave the Middle East for Rome.
07:17The confirmation comes after Italy's foreign minister separately told journalists that the
07:22Italian government has given its go-ahead to host the talks.
07:26The first talks ended in Oman, a location Iran has confirmed will not hold the next round
07:32of talks.
07:33On Sunday, US President Donald Trump said he expected to decide on Iran very quickly after
07:44both countries said they held positive and constructive talks.
08:00Saturday's talks were the first high-level dialogue between US and Iranian officials in eight years.
08:06US officials have said Oman will continue to mediate between the two sides.
08:15China's leader Xi Jinping has arrived in Vietnam for a two-day state visit.
08:19He received a high-level welcome in Hanoi, including a formal ceremony with Vietnam's Communist
08:24Party leader, Thao Lam.
08:26The visit kicks off Xi's tour of Southeast Asia amid ongoing trade tensions with the US.
08:32Vietnam is one of the biggest beneficiaries of countries trying to decouple their supply
08:36chains from China, with many businesses choosing to relocate to Vietnam.
08:41That's why the US views Vietnam as a backdoor for Chinese goods.
08:45It was hit with 46% tariffs under Trump's order before the 90-day pause.
08:51In an editorial, Xi stressed his commitment to global trade, warning against tariff wars, referencing
08:56recent US moves under President Trump.
08:59There are no winners in a tariff war, Xi wrote.
09:03The trip is seen as a chance for Beijing to shore up alliances and counter American trade
09:08law.
09:10Xi is scheduled to visit Malaysia and Cambodia next.
