00:05Netanyahu prepares to meet President Trump in Washington to discuss the war.

00:16ban preventing her from taking part in the next presidential election.
00:21A ceremony was held in the German city of Weimar to commemorate the 80th anniversary
00:26of the liberation of the Buchenwald concentration camp.
00:31At least 32 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes across Gaza, mostly women and children.
00:37Israel resumed the war three weeks ago following the breakdown of a fragile ceasefire with
00:42Hamas.
00:43Daily strikes and ground operations have taken place since, killing more than 1,000 people,
00:48according to a UN report.
00:50More than 50,500 Palestinians have been killed so far since the start of the war in October
00:552023, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.
00:59On Sunday, Israeli strikes targeted a tent and a house in Khan Younis in the south, killing
01:04five men, five women and five children.
01:07Another strike on the Jabalia refugee camp in the north killed at least four Palestinians.
01:12A strike in Gaza City targeted people waiting outside a bakery, killing more than six people,
01:17of which half were children.
01:19The attacks come as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gears up to meet with U.S.
01:24President Donald Trump in the White House on Monday.
01:27Netanyahu says he'll update the U.S.
01:28President on recent developments and discuss next steps of the war.
01:36A few dozen protesters gathered outside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's home,
01:42calling for a deal securing the release of all hostages in Jerusalem on Monday.
01:49The rally marks a year and a half since Hamas militants attacked southern Israel.
01:54One grandmother of a hostage has a message for Netanyahu.
01:58Now the moment of truth has come, the moment of truth for you, that you need, you are in
02:09the right place, you are in the right time to sit down with your president and to complete
02:16an agreement that everyone will be allowed to leave the house.
02:19We expect this.
02:20Later on Monday, Netanyahu and Trump are set to meet in Washington, D.C.
02:26Last month, Israel broke the ceasefire with Hamas by bombing Gaza after pressuring militants
02:32to accept new ceasefire terms, a move backed by the White House.
02:37Israel has also hooted all food, fuel and aid supplies to Gaza.
02:46The death toll from a Russian strike on the central Ukrainian city of Krivyi Rih has risen
02:50to 18.
02:52At least nine children were among those dead in the attack, with the youngest aged only
02:56three.
02:58Ukrainian authorities say the Kremlin targeted a residential neighborhood with a ballistic
03:02missile.
03:03Moscow says it targeted a restaurant in the city where a meeting between military officers
03:07and Western instructors was taking place.
03:10At least 72 others were injured in the attack, about half remain in the hospital, 17 of which
03:15are still in critical condition.
03:18Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky says doctors are working around the clock to save
03:22as many lives as possible.
03:24The Ukrainian leader says the Kremlin's continuing attacks highlight their unwillingness to end
03:29the war, as he accuses Putin of stalling ceasefire efforts.
03:33He called on allies to exert more pressure on Moscow to force them into striking a peace
03:37deal, and pleaded for more military support to bolster air defenses.
03:42Convicted last week of embezzling public funds and banned from running for office, French
03:51far-right politician Marine Le Pen addressed a crowd of her supporters on Sunday in Paris.
03:56The National Rally Party leader said she had fought injustice for 30 years and was prepared
04:03to continue the fight.
04:04They are for us, they are for me, of course, an additional reason not to give up anything.
04:12And may everyone be reassured, I will not give up anything.
04:18Humiliation, just like revenge, or the concept of a court of law, all of this is the opposite
04:25of the idea I have of justice.
04:27All of this makes me horrified.
04:30Thousands of supporters gathered at Place Vauban near the tomb of Napoleon in Paris
04:35for what was billed as a protest, but observers said it had all the markings of a campaign
04:41rally.
04:42Last Monday, a court convicted Le Pen of embezzling EU funds.
04:47She was handed a partially suspended prison sentence and banned from running in elections
04:52for five years.
04:55U.S. President's Bologna adviser Elon Musk has said he hopes that the U.S. and Europe
05:01can create a very close, stronger partnership and eventually establish a zero-tariff free
05:07trade zone.
05:08Musk said this in a virtual speech at Italy's ruling far-right legal party Congress on Saturday,
05:14adding that he had advised U.S. President Donald Trump about a potential free trade
05:18zone.
05:19I hope, it is agreed, that both Europe and the United States should move ideally, in
05:25my view, to a zero-tariff situation, effectively creating a free trade zone between Europe
05:31and North America.
05:34And that would be my, that's what I hope occurs.
05:41And also, more freedom of people to move between Europe and North America, if they wish.
05:47If they wish to work in Europe or wish to work in America, they should be allowed to
05:51do so, in my view.
05:53Musk's comment came after China hit back at the U.S. with 34% tariffs, which caused markets
05:59to slide even further by margins not seen since the COVID pandemic.
06:04Meanwhile, on Sunday, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen reiterated the EU's commitment
06:09to negotiating with the U.S., while also saying it will defend its interests through proportionate
06:15countermeasures if necessary.
06:19Austria has closed 24 small border crossings with Hungary and Slovakia in an effort to
06:23prevent foot-and-mouth disease from entering the country.
06:27Slovakia declared an emergency situation on Tuesday after the disease, commonly known
06:31as FMD, was detected on three farms.
06:34Hungary had its first outbreak of the highly infectious disease in 50 years on Wednesday.
06:39The disease, which poses no danger to humans, mostly affects cattle and other cloven-hoofed
06:44animals, like swine, sheep and goats, causing fever and mouth blisters.
06:49Outbreaks often lead to trade restrictions and calls of some livestock.
06:53Austrian health authorities are conducting rigorous checks at the few open border crossings.
06:58Cars and pedestrians crossing on foot have to pass over an epidemic rug to prevent the
07:02virus from spreading.
07:04Police are also searching vehicles at border points for meat products which are restricted
07:08while this emergency persists.
07:11Authorities are also preparing contingencies in the case FMD is detected at an Austrian farm.
07:19Russia continues its Black Sea cleanup operation in the Kerch Strait after last December's
07:26oil spill from two storm-stricken Russian tankers, according to footage released by
07:33Russian authorities.
07:35The fuel oil spill of at least 3,700 tonnes happened in mid-December in the strait, which
07:42separates Russia and Ukraine's Russian-occupied Crimea.
07:47Two Russian oil tankers were caught in a storm.
07:50One broke in half and sank, while the other ran aground and also leaked oil.
07:55Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that more than 418 kilometres of
08:02shoreline have been cleared, over 154,000 tonnes of polluted sand and oil have been
08:08collected and an estimated €913 million has been spent on the cleanup.
08:20At least 18 people have been killed in torrential rains and flash flooding following deadly
08:26tornadoes as storms rage through midwestern and southern U.S. states, including Kentucky
08:33and Alabama.
08:34As the rain starts to ease in some of the hardest-hit areas of Tennessee, some are still
08:40trying to hear from their loved ones.
08:43I came here to check on my dad.
08:45He lives right over there by the baseball field.
08:48I really haven't heard nothing from him.
08:51I just wanted to make sure he was safe and out of here.
08:55Meanwhile, local media reported that the Ohio River would likely reach on Monday a level
09:01of flood only experienced once in the past 28 years.
09:06In Arkansas, a five-year-old boy died after a tree fell on his family's home and trapped
09:12him, according to police.
09:14Forecasters warned that flooding could persist for days and said that tornadoes are possible
09:20in Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
09:30The 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Buchenwald concentration camp was commemorated
09:35with a ceremony in the German city of Weimar.
09:38It was attended by the country's former president Christian Wolff.
09:42In a speech at the event, he warned against radicalization and a worldwide shift to the right.
10:08Wolff also criticized the rise of anti-immigration sentiment championed by the far-right Alternative
10:33for Germany party.
10:35The former president, who belongs to the Christian Democratic Union, called for active commitment
10:39to democracy and the preservation of humanity.
10:42The Buchenwald concentration camp was established in 1937.
10:47At its peak, the camp and its satellites housed close to 300,000 inmates.
10:52More than 55,000 of its prisoners were killed by Nazis or died as a result of hunger, illness
10:58or medical experiments.
11:00The camp was liberated on the 11th of April 1945.
11:06Pope Francis made a surprise appearance in St. Peter's Square on Sunday morning during
11:13a special jubilee mass for the sick and health workers.
11:17He was rolled into the square on a wheelchair in his first public appearance at the Vatican
11:21since being released from hospital two weeks earlier, after a battle with life-threatening pneumonia.
11:27In an angelus prayer read out by Archbishop Rino Fisichella, the pontiff prayed for doctors,
11:33nurses and health care workers around the world, and wished for peace in places affected
11:38by war as well as more aid for Myanmar and Haiti.
