00:00The vast Bering Sea, over a million square miles of the world's most violent and
00:11unpredictable waters, and home of the deadliest catch, Alaskan crab.
00:19It's a new king crab season on Alaska's Bering Sea.
00:22A handful of adventurers will battle the weather, rogue waves, and deadly steel, for a chance
00:36at big money in this modern-day gold rush.
00:41In the past two decades, these waters have claimed more than 90 lives, and this season,
00:51that toll is climbing.
00:53Whoa!
00:54Whoa!
00:56Whoa!
00:58That's what makes Alaskan crab the deadliest catch.
01:03Whoa, whoa, whoa!
01:05Yeah!
01:21Whoa, whoa, whoa
01:48Welcome to The Last Frontier.
01:59This is Dutch Harbor, Alaska.
02:04Every October, a handful of adventurers return to Dutch Harbor with hopes of striking it rich in the Bering Sea.
02:14The best of the fleet return for the start of the king crab season.
02:17The Time Bandit.
02:21The Northwestern.
02:25The Maverick.
02:29The Cornelia Marie.
02:32The boats and the fishermen are back, but their greeting is less than welcoming.
02:37The capsized hulk of the 600-foot Cougar Ace cargo ship has been towed into Dutch Harbor.
02:43This boat is six times the size of the average crab boat.
02:47It's a grim reminder of just how dangerous these seas can be.
02:58Out here, being prepared for the worst-case scenario is not always enough.
03:02We're laying way over on our side. Five people on the boat. Repeat, five people.
03:10Images of disaster at sea capture the very real risk.
03:14The Bering Sea is a numbers game, and this year, at least one fisherman will not return alive.
03:27It should be vital, though.
03:28The first should be found in water.
03:30Sherman Stempson, that's a negative, no vital signs.
03:33You know, you just hope it isn't your time, you know.
03:36But every day you're out there, it's just more risk and more risk.
03:39We just want to get in, get it done, and get the hell out of there.
03:42This year is going to be exceptionally rough. That we do know.
03:48With only 48 hours until the season officially opens, crews work around the clock to finish last-minute preparations.
03:55I'm taking a little fuel today. A little bit is 5,000 gallons.
04:005,000 tons of steel have been waiting like rusty skeletons for seven months, and will now be craned and stacked on the boats.
04:10And 1,000 tons of bait will be loaded on board.
04:16For some, this job may be deadly, but for everyone, it's painful.
04:22The injury rate is nearly 100%.
04:25I think I hit myself with a hatchet.
04:28You see all the way in there.
04:31Knock it off. God.
04:33That's going to hurt.
04:34Look at it! Look at it!
04:36But you've got to be able to do it long hours and in pain.
04:40And if you can do that, you've got to make it.
04:42But for 100 years, brave souls like these have returned to Dutch Harbor, seeking adventure and their share of the $62 million crab fortune.
04:52We're heading for the hills. Go make some money.
04:56In the last two years, the fleet has dropped from 258 boats to only 81.
05:02That means fewer spots available for fishermen.
05:05In this elite fraternity, many positions on deck are going to friends and family.
05:11The crew member on the Northwestern is cousin Stan Hansen.
05:15He's our new man.
05:18On the Cornelia Marie, Captain Phil Harris has given his son Jake a promotion from bait boy to deckhand.
05:24Jacob's going to have a lot more responsibility because he pissed and moaned about a raise.
05:30You tell me you could do the job. Yeah, you can. You could probably be an astronaut if you wanted to.
05:36You've got the brains for it, but you ain't done it. You want to be top dog. You earn it.
05:41For Jake, it's time to put up or shut up. His deck mates won't make it easy on him.
05:47Hey, look what you got going on over there. You better stop that before it burns his water hose. Babysitting.
05:55That was not a full share of move.
05:57What did I tell you about playing with matches?
06:00Wow. Wow.
06:03Yeah, we expect a little more than that.
06:05This red crab season, Jake's not the only one of Captain Phil's kids who will be under close scrutiny.
06:11His older brother Joshua has come aboard as the new bait boy.
06:15There's something about coming up here and risking your life.
06:20Sounds weird, but it makes you feel alive.
06:24Josh has always been the older, stronger one.
06:27And Jake's been the one that feels no pain.
06:31I'm working with the best people in the business. My brother, you know, my dad.
06:36Joshua wants this bad. We'll just see how bad he wants it.
06:40It's just like a dysfunctional family. One big one.
06:47Across the dock on the early dawn, Greenhorn and owner's son Brian Message is preparing to carry on a family fishing tradition.
06:55My dad's dad was a fisherman. His dad was a fisherman. My dad was a fisherman.
06:58He's been doing it ever since we've been dated back. That's our family culture, I guess you could say.
07:05We're wired up.
07:07Sons and brothers are the usual new additions to the fleet.
07:10But over on the far west leader, the captain's wife is the newest member of the crew.
07:15This is very challenging.
07:18This will be her first fishing trip on the Bering Sea.
07:23These are the ones that I'm going to wear.
07:25These boots out of that.
07:28Aboard the Maverick, it's not family, but long-term friendships that bond captain and crew.
07:33As far as Mike and Marvin and I and Blake, we all went to high school together and pretty much grew up together.
07:39The young Maverick crew begins loading their pots as 26-year-old rookie captain Blake Painter watches.
07:46Blake's going to be good.
07:48I've been around for quite a while, so I don't fish with anybody I don't feel safe with.
07:54The Maverick's owner, Rick Quashnik, had promised Blake the captain's job last King season.
07:59But at the last minute, he changed his mind.
08:04When you were a little kid, what did you want to be?
08:06You know what I wanted to be when I was four years old?
08:09Captain of a red crab boat.
08:13And for the last two years, I thought that was the plan up until today.
08:17Apparently now I'm not going to be.
08:20So I'm real for it, yeah.
08:22But this year, Captain Rick followed through on his offer and handed over the keys to his 92-foot, multi-million dollar baby.
08:29Now, Blake finally has a chance to prove that he has what it takes.
08:34I got all the faith in the world in Blake.
08:36If Rick will trust him, I can trust him.
08:40Blake hopes to benefit from the partnerships Rick's cultivated during his 18 years of running the boat.
08:46This is Blake's first go-around. I want to make sure he does well.
08:49I'm sure he's going to make some bonehead moves.
08:51Somewhere.
08:52But, you know, that's part of the learning process.
08:56So we'll see what happens with him.
08:58While the fishermen finish final prep work, their guardians, the United States Coast Guard, mobilize to the ready position.
09:0624 hours a day, helicopter crews are there to answer the call for help.
09:13And in the past 15 years, 114 Alaskan fishermen have been spared a certain death by the Coast Guard.
09:21As this season starts, they'll answer the call once again.
09:32A Coast Guard team boards the Time Bandit to assist Captain Jonathan and crew in preparing for the worst-case scenarios.
09:39Fire at sea.
09:41Good! Fire is out! Fire is out!
09:43Abandon ship.
09:44At what point do you want to activate that EPIRT, buddy?
09:47Immediately.
09:48For man overboard.
09:55Captain Jonathan and his crew know firsthand the value of man overboard drills.
10:01Ten years ago, they were able to save all the crew of a sinking vessel except for one.
10:07It was just as the guy was sinking, my brother grabbed ahold of him.
10:11We had him aboard instantly.
10:13And we gave him CPR for like two and a half hours.
10:16It was terrible.
10:18His body temperature was too cold to save him.
10:23And they pronounced him dead at the dock.
10:25And, man, we just hit you.
10:27I started crying.
10:28I didn't even know the guy.
10:29It was just terrible.
10:31Across the harbor, Captain Corky Tilly of the Aleutian Ballad has his crew donning survival suits.
10:36Safety is number one issue on this boat.
10:39We had a close call last year.
10:42Last year, a 60-foot rogue wave crashed into the Aleutian Ballad while she was steaming between strings.
10:56Within seconds, the 100-foot vessel was on its side.
10:59We just took a wave.
11:01Clabberds sheared from the deck.
11:05A wheelhouse window shattered.
11:08All navigational systems crashed.
11:10And the crew?
11:11The crew survived.
11:12But they were broken and bruised.
11:20They were lucky.
11:21The boat righted itself.
11:23But Captain Corky is not taking any chances, especially with his daughter, Nicole, on deck.
11:36Would you like to have your daughter working out here?
11:38For a newcomer, it all comes down to thinking as fast as you can.
11:42Because in these big parts, there's no second chance.
11:46In addition to extensive safety precautions, crews are also busy stocking up on provisions.
11:51The Time Bandit crew hits the market like a band of mercenaries.
11:55Get in, get out, take no prisoners.
11:58Rognild Moncrief, cook and den mother for the Far West leader, shops with recipes and carefully prepared lists.
12:05Red pepper, celery, avocados, milk, sour cream.
12:15We don't have any.
12:17Some canned soups, fresh fruit.
12:21Strawberry, strawberry, strawberry shortcake.
12:24Lots of coffee.
12:25They drink a lot of coffee.
12:26I'd say seven or eight watts a day.
12:33Vegetables.
12:34And different spices.
12:36Top road.
12:38New plan.
12:39A ladder.
12:42Where are we going?
12:46Fresh produce and milk and egg.
12:48We're going to be throwing some eggs at the other boats.
12:50A lot of these eggs don't make it to our dinner table.
12:5730 dozen eggs.
13:01No matter what the shopping style, the results are always the same.
13:04It takes a small fortune to feed hungry fishermen.
13:11It's 5 p.m.
13:12Dusk Falls on Dutch Harbor.
13:15While crews work through the night, captains gather for a final toast before the season.
13:19This year, the youngest skipper in the fleet, Blake Painter, has a spot at the captain's table.
13:26There's over a hundred years of crab fishing experience gathered here, and Blake is eager to pick up as many pointers as he can.
13:33So do you need any advice, or do you think you're good to go?
13:38You can just give me all your hot spots.
13:41You don't need hot spots.
13:43Just keep your cool.
13:44That's all you got to do.
13:46Never be greedy or desperate.
13:48That's what happens when guys stop us.
13:51Keep your cool.
13:53No radio crab.
13:54Yeah.
13:55Because they're going to lie to you anyway.
13:58After a few drinks and friendly advice, it gets competitive.
14:02Okay, who pulls the less amount of pounds for a hundred thousand pounds?
14:04Me too.
14:06Fine. Less amount of pounds for a hundred thousand pounds.
14:07That's fine.
14:08All right.
14:09Okay.
14:10I'm in.
14:11Don't lie.
14:12Don't lie.
14:13You're lying or dying.
14:14Who's going to tell the truth on that?
14:15Fisherman's honor.
14:17Which two?
14:19I want it to the money, Hanson.
14:22So throw in a hundred bucks and shut up.
14:24You're loaning some too.
14:25There's yours.
14:26All right.
14:27I'm in.
14:28Up square.
14:29We'll pay you right up.
14:30Shut up and put the money in.
14:32The winner will have to average more crab per pot than his rivals, and the house will hold the $800 pot.
14:38To a safe season.
14:40Yeah.
14:41Go get them.
14:42Let's go.
14:43Stay safe.
14:44To all the men that lost this evening, they're told how we should go to heaven.
14:47Go get them, Blake.
14:50Dinner and drinks with the other captains is only the beginning of Blake's initiation.
14:55Sig has a plan to welcome Blake to the wheelhouse.
14:58A plan that involves rotting fish.
15:02That'll work.
15:05That a nice one.
15:08Just want to play a little prank on Blake and the Maverick.
15:11If we can get it somewhere near his chair, his new throne.
15:16After a few days, hopefully this stuff will just ferment and rot.
15:21Welcome to Skipper Hood.
15:23We've had the fish in the bunk.
15:26This will be the fish in the chair.
15:28It already stinks.
15:30Tell that.
15:31We'll let that cook for a while.
15:43As the Maverick crew relaxes in the galley, Edgar makes a stealth entrance into the wheelhouse and leaves a smelly surprise behind for Blake.
15:51I swear to God there's somebody on board watching TV.
15:55There's somebody downstairs watching TV.
15:57It's 10 a.m. Sunday.
16:04Boats are set to leave, but a forecast of hurricane-force winds for the afternoon have captains holding a dock.
16:11Here is the forecast for the Dutch Harbor area.
16:14High wind warning in effect until 12 p.m. Alaska daylight time Monday.
16:18Tonight, rain showers.
16:20Areas of fog.
16:21North winds 45 to 50 miles an hour with gusts to around 75 miles an hour.
16:26Rain showers likely.
16:28Two massive storm fronts are spiraling over the Aleutians on a collision course with Dutch Harbor.
16:37This time of year, what can happen is if the storms start tracking the wrong way, they start blowing right through our fishing grounds.
16:46I mean, we've got 30 to 40s, 40 plus, you know, the backside of this thing, there's hurricane-force winds developing, and it's all, you can see the storm tracking right there, it's going right through there, and this is where we fish, right here.
17:01So, it's not the best day to leave town.
17:04Some years we get a good over, some years we get a bad over.
17:08Alaska is just like a roller coaster, you know, you just gotta pick your timing.
17:14The storm may be bearing down, but right now there's a weather break that Captain Phil plans to capitalize on.
17:21Okay, you guys, cut them loose.
17:24Experience has taught him, there's no guarantee it's going to get better.
17:28We are untying the boat to get the hell out of Dodge. It's time to go.
17:35Kinda hoping we slip in between two storms to get up there.
17:39We gotta pay attention to the weather till we get some of this gear off.
17:42But, knock on wood, the yacht is running good.
17:47And we're out of town, the first ones for a change, so we'll see how this goes.
17:54Within hours, the building storm front, carrying 65 mile an hour winds, tears into Dutch Harbor.
18:00Most boats stayed behind to avoid the weather, but now, even the docks are unsafe.
18:13The wind and seas slam massive crab vessels together and into the pier.
18:22They're gonna end up coming forward and probably ripping off this part of the stern right here, you know.
18:27We're slacking off the bow lines.
18:29This wind should push us forward.
18:30When it does, we need to tack up the slack on these lines here.
18:31Extreme bumper boats in the very sea.
18:32Don't stand there like an idiot with a bag in your hand.
18:33Get the hell away from him.
18:34You're not gonna be able to do anything.
18:36After some careful maneuvering by Captain Keith.
18:39Just keep taking up your slack as we go.
18:43The wizard gets clear from the wharf and the other boats.
18:44All right, Crosby, make it fast.
18:49There's a little bit of excitement every night.
18:53With weather this severe inside the safety of the harbor,
18:58the ship will be able to be able to do anything.
19:00All right, Crosby, make it fast.
19:06There's a little bit of excitement every night.
19:08With weather this severe inside the safety of the harbor,
19:12of the harbor these fishermen know that once they reach the crab grounds things will only get worse
19:25by morning the storm has passed and the remaining boats prepare to leave
19:31deckhands phone home to loved ones and then head out to an uncertain fate
19:37attention all mariners please stand by for the blessing of the fleet and safe fishing to every
19:44one of you we bless and praise you oh lord our god in all ages you desire that your people live
19:52together in peace and that they share the goods of the earth which your creative spirit has provided
20:00you ask us also to be good stewards of the earth's riches
20:03we now ask you then for your blessing of safety upon those who go down to the sea and ships
20:11as we share all this may we be reminded that of all good gifts that give us life and health
20:17are for our common rather than for our personal good
20:29so
20:32back down the hatches and here we go
20:35going the line money money money let's go make some money fill these empty pockets
20:50going fishing
20:53letting the rodeo begin my friend
20:55everything we needed to do in dutch is done we're signed off we're good to go
21:25all right now i feel pretty solid about the way things are going to go we've got youth we've got
21:31endurance uh nobody on here really has any bad habits nobody smoking eight packs of cigarettes a
21:36day or doing drugs there's none of that everybody's friends everybody grew up together but it's a crab
21:43boat you know it's not it's not a democracy there's one guy in charge and now i'm that guy
21:49that's just the way it goes
21:54208 miles northeast of dutch arbor coming in the cornelia marie is already at the southern end of the
22:01fishing grounds
22:05captain phil's gamble to brave the elements has paid off
22:09he skirted the storm and with more good weather on the horizon phil drops the first string of the season
22:21okay first pot in the water right now we got 185 pods on board and i'm going to spread them out into
22:27six different strings covering about 40 miles on deck jake harris is starting his first king crab season
22:34has a full share deckhand while his older brother joshua has assumed jake's old job as bait boy yeah
22:42ding and dong get along well you know but when you get 30 40 hours under your belt we'll see and
22:48it's rough in hell we'll see how they get along then when they're dead tired
22:52going over first couple of days these two you know they're both doing a new position so you know
23:07josh a long time a few years ago he was on here for one two-day king crap season so he has a general
23:12idea of what's going on we'll show him what to do keep our eye on him
23:15good
23:32rock and roll
23:36After we get this one, we'll take two out of deck.
24:06Basically one speed they have to go, and no matter how much it hurts, they've got to keep up.
24:13Just getting started, baby.
24:14Just getting started, huh?
24:21For this part, I'm always kind of on edge when we're setting it off with a big load like this.
24:26Deckhand Dave Millman is Captain Phil's most experienced hand,
24:30and the most dangerous job on a crab boat working the stack falls to him.
24:35You're sitting on a razor blade.
24:37You know, you're just waiting for something to happen that you've got to react to.
24:41They can suck a pot up into the crane and bust the line that the pot's up to and it falls on them.
24:47800 pounds, squishy guy.
24:49You can have a pot go flying across the deck and hit somebody.
24:52You can launch a pot and have the line wrapped around your leg.
24:58The only thing you can do is go over with the pot and hopefully we can get you back.
25:02There isn't one scenario that's any good.
25:05The stability report indicates that the 128-foot Cornelia Marie can hold 180 pots with no crab in the tanks.
25:14That's 72 tons of swaying steel nearly three stories off the water.
25:20I don't know about these guys because they're so used to it and they're like thoroughbreds,
25:26but for me it's one of the scarier aspects of this.
25:30Player swing!

26:19220 miles northeast of dutch arbor the northwestern plows through rising seas
26:39always an innovator captain sig hansen decides on a strategy he's never used before
26:46fishing 300 pots instead of his normal 200 we have 152 pots on board we can carry up to 200
26:55but we went out with 152 these are a lot larger than what the typical boat will use these are
27:01seven foot wide on the door by eight foot in length on the tunnel they fish well if there's a lot of
27:07volume they fish more i think they're 960 70 pounds a piece so they're a lot heavier than most so we can
27:16get the gear soaking and let that do its job and then return back to dutch and load on another
27:23150 170 pots more and bigger pots should mean more crab but the trick is knowing where to set the gear
27:32you know we use all the information we can get a lot of times you're going to get information from
27:36other fishermen that's golden information as long as i can decipher if they're lying or not
27:41you just never know information on the best crabbing is cheap and plentiful on the bering sea
27:48what separates the vets from the newbies is the art of deciphering it's all about the crab
27:53you guys ready you might have to head up a harriet for good luck now it's your turn
27:59eat it it's too hard look at all my teeth i ain't doing it
28:04give me a nice soft one i don't know
28:06yeah let's look good luck
28:09getting the pots in the water obviously that's that's the biggest deal to where you can read
28:27your pots and decipher what you see that's the key a monkey can go out here and set pots
28:33but you got to read what you see you have to understand what you're looking at
28:3837 miles to the south southeast the maverick is set to start the new king crab season
28:46the crew is ready and anxious to drop their pots
28:49got a chain coming down
28:52today's the first day we're going to start setting some gear
28:55get rid of some of these pots start making some money finally
29:00i think you need to guide this one out of there
29:02spin it
29:04greenhorn captain blake painter is searching for the perfect spot to set his gear
29:13well what do you know you got the hot scoop where are they all at
29:19it's really up and down man it seems shallower is better
29:23but i don't know how much too shallow is
29:26we're going to grind up some bait we're going to start putting these on the bottom
29:31what do you got planned for your income this year scott
29:37i'm going to pay off the irs
29:40while the crew toils over a mountain of herring and sardines
29:47their captain is still trying to get some inside info on the crab
29:52well what do you hear you talk to anybody what's uh what's the scoop i know one thing for sure
29:58i gotta get the hell out of where i'm at right now
30:01back in the shelter of dutch harbor blake was confident about finding the crab on his own
30:06when we win that 900 bucks i'll probably split it between me and the guys
30:12and maybe take a picture of us with the money send it to each one of the other guys
30:16now facing the limitless choices of where to fish the vast bering sea
30:21he's grasping for guidance from the veterans
30:24you got recommendations or uh reports of big full pots
30:28where you at now anywhere
30:30you know the kids got to take notice
30:33i've told them this information already
30:36it'll be nice getting these pots off the boat
30:43it all said he had some gear down in that neck of the woods and it was
30:50it was some of the better fish that he'd see
30:53when you're up in the wheelhouse you get uh you get thinking way too much
30:58especially me and blake's first season he's gonna be second guessing everyone
31:02it's a hard hard decision to make
31:04right now that's looking a little more appealing i think
31:09clear up to that
31:11the sun sets on the maverick without a single pot splash
31:20the yellow book crab count is currently at zero for all the boats as they prepare to pull their first pots
31:28231 miles northeast of dutch arbor
31:31captain keith colburn on the wizard has just landed on the crab grounds
31:35fishermen will do two things one they'll either try and chase the crab they're on the survey
31:38which they give us from the summer or they'll chase last year's crab
31:42see all these red bands right through here
31:44that's pretty much where the hot spot was the last two years
31:48all the way from here over to here
31:50you know the last few years the water's been so warm
31:53the crab has been running deeper just to get into some colder water
31:57so this year with the water being a lot colder
31:59my guess is they're gonna be laying up here in this purple band this year
32:02which is pretty far north
32:03down in the galley nick marrer is buzzing with anticipation
32:07and caffeine
32:08straight black

32:19i'm just having too much anxiety
32:20nice new rain here for the opening set
32:35okay be good let's go ahead and pop this one chain down
32:37and we'll get these out of our hair okay
32:39one of the largest boats in the fleet
32:41the 155 foot wizard has 250 pots on board
32:45it'd be nice to get this stack knocked down to where i can actually see the crew
32:49deckhand art peterson heads to the top of the stack to start untying pots
32:58the wizard is top heavy and the weather is picking up
33:01they need to get 200 000 pounds of stacked steel off the deck to stabilize the boat
33:19when junior deckhand crosby takes it on himself to climb the stack and help out
33:29it only takes a minute for him to make what could easily become a fatal mistake
33:34you put on the top
33:36is that the last tide
33:37is that the last tide
33:41yeah

34:02and this boat takes a surge because i'm kind of in the ditch
34:05it's going to slip right off of there and take you for a ride
34:07so you want to leave that tie on to the last second okay
34:12there's more to it than just tying a knot untying a knot
34:15you got to know where the crane is which way the pot's going to swing
34:18you got it you got to have a feel for it
34:25okay i'm going to slow down just a bit here um and we're going to start slapping out a real train here in about about 60 seconds

35:58Not wanting to worry his family,
36:28Keith ends the conversation with no mention of the sinking ship.
36:32All right, honey, I'm going to run upstairs with them.
36:34I love you.
36:35Call me back in a while.
36:36Maybe you need to shut their door so they can't hear you talking.
36:39All right, bye-bye.
36:46It sounded like a beeper went off down below the chain.
36:50Somebody had a bay day and a potential abandoned ship.
36:56The fishing vessel Ocean Challenger has radioed a mayday.
37:00A Coast Guard rescue helicopter launches from Cold Bay, Alaska,
37:03just 20 minutes away from the distress signal.
37:06There's a fishing vessel capsized.
37:08They were abandoning ship and getting in a life raft.
37:11All right, we're rolling.
37:13Roger.
37:14Good luck.
37:15One hundred two miles away, the Ocean Challenger mayday continues to relay throughout the fleet.
37:29A 460 megahertz distress beacon from the fishing vessel Ocean Challenger has been detected.
37:36A vessel in area says they were abandoning ship.
37:39All stations keep a sharp lookout for signs of distress.
37:42Assist if possible.
37:44The crabbers are too far to lend a hand.
37:47All the skippers can do is stand by helplessly and pray.
37:55But every skipper listening in knows the window for surviving these frigid waters is mercilessly short.
38:01Hopefully they're all sitting in the life raft, waiting for the chopper.
38:20Unless the Coast Guard locates the Ocean Challenger crew in their life raft, or at least in their survival suits,
38:27the chance of rescuing them alive is drastically reduced.
38:33Just five minutes out.
38:34Special all clear, sir.
38:36I understand you've got two survivors.
38:39Responding to the mayday, the 600-foot car carrier Overseas-Joyce is on the scene.
38:45They've reported a life raft and men in the water.
38:48I believe one on the raft, three PIW.
38:50Four people on board, one in the raft.
38:52One seven zero eight ETA to scene, one plus one five.
38:57A little over a minute from the scene.
38:59Forty-five to fifty and thirty-foot seas, so we'll consider that the worst case.
39:05And we'll get you there on six after request you takeout drive here on scene, post position.
39:12Coast Guard rescue swimmer Bob LaPolt and hoist operator Eddie Completo open the cargo door to look for the raft.
39:21We'll just be.
39:23ETA's that signal.
39:27And this is the gear, we need it.
39:29Ready?
39:30How to do it?
39:31I see it.
39:32Oh, no.
39:33I see something on our crew.
39:38Two o'clock, about three o'clock.
39:39OK, I see .
39:44They spot what looks to be a man in a survival suit.
40:07But the suit is empty, a grim sign.
40:14Sold out the guard, Robert.
40:23The Mercleo allez-winning cards.
40:26aje estabmissars are ledge forward.
40:34Shimmer is ready, silver is on air.
40:38Silver is halfway down.
40:41Can I drill right, 30?
40:43The raft was the Ocean Challenger crew's best chance
40:56at survival, and it's empty.
40:58Rescue swimmer LaPoult punctures and sinks the raft so that no one else searches for survivors
41:18that aren't there.
41:28Then suddenly, the overseas Joyce radios that they've spotted a man in the water.
41:58The coast guard spots a survivor.
42:09After 40 minutes in the water, he's still conscious.
42:28The ocean will travel to an alien space which protects them and allows us to run to protect
42:38the sea.
42:39The ocean has formed a moon with a man in the sea.
42:44The ocean has come from the ocean that is being decided.
42:50The sea quality is recorded with the seagulls and the sea quality is made by the sea.
42:56A wave nearly knocks a survivor back into the sea.
43:26Now, it's a race to reverse the effects of hypothermia.
43:54One man is in the helicopter, three are still missing.
44:22We don't see him anymore.
44:24Roger that.
44:52We don't see him anymore.
44:54We don't see him.
44:56We don't see him anymore.
44:58We don't see him anymore.
