00:06the National Commissioner of Baybrook League Philippines.

00:16But ma'am, what is the first time of Baybrook League Philippines?

00:21Baybrook League Philippines is the national charter of the Philippines

00:26of Baybrook League International.

00:28This is our inaugural tournament.

00:31It's our first year.

00:33Our national tournament is going to happen on May 2-11

00:37at Clark International Sports Complex.

00:39So it's actually a youth baseball.

00:42Wow, so grassroots po ito sa mga kabataan natin.

00:46Ang ganda kaya ng performance ng national team natin pagdating sa baseball.

00:51Pero ma'am, bakit ba Baybrook yung pinangalan natin?

00:54Kasi of course, we know legend yan.

00:56Yes, the Yankees.

00:57Actually, hindi naman Baybrook League Philippines ang nag-coin ng liga na to.

01:02It's actually, like I said, it's an official charter from Baybrook League International.

01:07So it came from the United States named after the legend, Baybrook.

01:12So we got the charter last year.

01:17So we are a new youth baseball league here in the Philippines.

01:21So obviously, it's named after the legend, Baybrook League.

01:24Ito Miss Ken, this is the inaugural national tournament.

01:26Kung baga buong Pilipinas ang na-expect natin for this tournament.

01:29Pero ilan po ba ang na-expect natin yung mga baseball players?

01:32How many teams?

01:33And what will be the format of this inaugural tournament po?

01:35We are very excited that we will be joined by around 50 teams from all over the Philippines.

01:43It's across five different age groups.

01:46We have 10 under, 12 under, 14, 16, and 18 under.

01:50So we have an average of 10 teams per age group.

01:54And all of these teams will come from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

01:58So, grassroots program talaga all over the Philippines.

02:01So ngayon ma'am, ito ba ang mga participants natin okay na?

02:05Or mag naghahanap pa rin ba tayo ng mga kuponan na makakasali po dito sa Baybrook?

02:09Actually, we have set a deadline for tomorrow, April 10.

02:12Ay!

02:13Ang gabawa siya ng pala.

02:14Wala!

02:15Ang mayro na, guys!

02:16Ang register na.

02:17Tomorrow is the deadline we set for those who want to participate.

02:22Kasi siyempre yung iba, they're still gathering funds, they're still gathering their teams.

02:27So, we have extended the deadline up to tomorrow for those teams who are interested to still join.

02:33Some age groups are already closed kasi nga puno na.

02:36Like for example, ang 18 under category namin is already closed because there are,

02:41there are so many teams who want to join.

02:44But for all the other categories, age groups, pwede pa din.

02:47So, we have until tomorrow, guys.

02:49Ang gusto nyo sabahala pa.

02:50Ayan, register na kayo.

02:51Ang gusto mo makasali sa Baybrook Philippines.

02:53Pero ito, Miss Ke, no.

02:54A very historic partnership dahil with Quec Development Corporation po.

02:58Kumbaga, mabibigyan po kayo ng magandang stadium for this inaugural tournament.

03:02Pwento nyo naman po yung naging partnership po ninyo.

03:05And gaano kalaking bagay lang po na dito gaganapin mismo yung ating tournament?

03:09This is very huge sa local baseball community just because this is the first time I think

03:17na ang grassroot level ng baseball will be held in a world class venue just like Clark International Sports Complex.

03:29With the partnership namin with Mr. Matt Attaway and of course you've mentioned Clark Development Corporation,

03:37Attorney Chairman Devanadera, and Mr. Ian Mejia who has actually helped us.

03:42Also with the support of the Philippine Sports Commission under the leadership of Chairman Bachman.

03:49We are very blessed to have these organizations and sports agencies to support us.

03:55This is really a groundbreaking event for youth baseball here in the Philippines and we are so excited to share this with everybody.

04:03Ano yung kasi May 2 hanggang 11 po? Ano ba yung tournament format natin for this time?

04:09Well, depends on the number of teams who will participate. If there will be 6 or 12 teams participating, it will be divided into 2 groups.

04:21Tapos Rock Robin and then they will advance to the playoffs and then the finals.

04:25So, our teams will have a guaranteed number of 5 games naman.

04:30So, para naman hindi naman kawawa yung mga gagaling pa from Mindanao and Pisayas.

04:35Tapos pagdating nila dito, 2 games lang sila, 3 games lang sila.

04:38So, I think yun nga, ang aim namin sa Babe Ruth is really to provide equal opportunities.

04:44Kasi pagdating nila sa nationals natin, it won't matter if you came from the provinces of Mindanao or the cities in Manila.

04:52You will be given equal opportunities to play in a world-class venue just like Clark International Sports Complex.

05:01As well as, you will be given an event to remember.

05:04Opo ma'am, dagdag ko na lang din.

05:06Last year, ang ganda ng performance na pinakita ng national team.

05:10Naka-five feet po tayo sa East Asia Baseball Cup.

05:12Ano ba yung impact nito?

05:14Kasi, parang dahil ba dito, mas umusbong yung mga youth po natin na gustong subukan itong baseball.

05:21Yeah, very important yung naging coverage and also the performance of our Philippine National Baseball Team.

05:28Just like what you did Bernadette, I know for a fact that Bernadette covered that again.

05:32Kasi we were together in Clark.

05:34Pero ang ganda ng media coverage din kasi.

05:36And also with the advent of, of course, the social media.

05:39It has been very instrumental yung naging victory ng ating Philippine National Baseball Team.

05:46As well as, yung nakita nila yung paglalaroan nila.

05:50Kasi the venue where the East Asia Cup was held, that exactly is the venue for our national tournament.

05:57So, talagang napakagandang opportunity sa mga bata to dream about something and be able to actually play in it.

06:06So, that's very exciting for us two sa management committee ng Babe Ruth League.

06:10Eto Miss Ken, kung sa na po ba yung impact ng ating Babe Ruth League Philippines?

06:14Kung baga, may mga nanggaling po ba tayong players dito sa liga po natin?

06:18Kung baga, ngayon nagalaro na sa mga professional, mga universities, UAP or NCAA for Baseball.

06:23Yeah, good for you to mention that kasi last November, we went to Misamis Oriental.

06:29We held our first Mindanao Regionals there.

06:32And we were together actually with the Philippine National Baseball Team coaches

06:37and also Philippine National Baseball Team players.

06:39So, in the process, may nakikita, kasi nag-conduct kami ng clinics doon.

06:44So, may nakita sila doon ng mga,

06:46Uy, pwede to ha, pwede to, ganyan.

06:48Pwede to sa college, pwede to sa school na to.

06:50So, I think ha, meron isang player doon that played in the regionals sa Mindanao,

06:56who was, quote-unquote, discovered.

06:58Ha?

06:59Ako?

07:00O, parang kung ano din, artista, no?

07:02Na-scout.

07:03Na-scout, yes, na-scout.

07:04And then, ngayon, I think, he will attend the University of the Philippines na.

07:09So, kung baga, that is really the opportunity that we want to give to the kids.

07:12Na, um, dream big, play hard, and then if ever,

07:17magbibigan namin kayo ng avenue to display your talents,

07:20and hopefully, magkaroon ng audience na either university coaches

07:26or Philippine national baseball team coaches,

07:28and they will get discovered.

07:29Just like what happened to that player from Mindanao.

07:32Oo, ang ganda nun, no?

07:33Napaganda ng platform ito.

07:34Mayroon tayo, pwede ma-discover, no?

07:36Sana ma-discover din tayo.

07:38Oo.

07:39Mag-e-baseball ba rin ba tayo?

07:41Pero ma'am, ano pa ba yung mga next for Babe Ruth?

07:43Yes.

07:44Okay, um, after the national tournament in May,

07:47um, whoever wins in each age group

07:50will go to the World Series in the United States.

07:52So, lahat ng age groups natin, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18,

07:56have, um, uh, a slot na reserved for them in the World Series

08:00to play in the United States.

08:02So, um, wala na tayong Asia-Pacific, uh, kumbaga, gate.

08:07Yes.

08:08Lalampasa tayo doon, and we will go straight to the World Series.

08:11Wow!

08:12So, exciting, exciting.

08:13That's going to be in August, summer time sa States.

08:15Oo, abangan natin yan.

08:16Sana, ano, mahusay talaga ang mag-qualify sa ating favorite Philippines

08:20para, syempre ba, may laban tayo doon.

08:23So, kailangan talagang magaling na magaling papadala natin.
