00:00Hi, I'm health reporter Sarah McCann.
00:04In March, National World launched our Endo-with-Battle campaign
00:06to help amplify the voices of those living with endometriosis.
00:11We asked you to share your story and we're inundated
00:13with over 400 responses to our anonymous survey.
00:17Here are some of the anonymous responses we received
00:20regarding the impact of endometriosis and diagnosis delays.
00:26This condition is debilitating every month.
00:29The pain is crippling.
00:34I was diagnosed privately as my GP continually told me it was nothing sinister.
00:41I've been trying to get help for 25 years now
00:43and I have been seen by various specialists
00:45and I am still yet to have a laparoscopy.
00:50Infertility lead to investigations,
00:52which lead to a diagnosis before having IVF.
00:55I was told by doctors that I had anxiety and depression
00:59and that this is what was causing me to feel as though the pain was worse than it was.
01:04These are some of the anonymous responses that we received
01:07regarding the cost of endometriosis and reasons for seeking private healthcare.
01:10The waiting lists are too long and I knew I'd end up leaving my career if I didn't get seen.
01:30I was in pain every day non-stop for two years straight
01:35and the NHS told me it was a three-year wait for surgery so I had to go private.
01:39It cost me £13,000.
01:43I had no choice.
01:45The NHS kept cancelling my operations.
01:49Challenges getting taken seriously for thoracic endometriosis
01:52when I didn't have a previous endometriosis diagnosis.
01:55And we also asked you what would you like to share with health ministers
01:59about what life is like with endometriosis.
02:02Here are a few of those anonymous responses.
02:06It's destroyed a decade of my life
02:08and the gaslighting by the medical profession was unacceptable.
02:15GPs need to be educated on the full range of possible symptoms
02:18and we need to reduce waiting lists to be seen with investment
02:21into more specialist consultants and surgeons.
02:25Endometriosis needs to be taught in schools
02:28and GPs need to listen and act
02:30when anyone seeks help for endo-issues.
02:34It is taking far too long to wait for a diagnosis.
02:38The NHS is failing us.

02:53We'll be они beg Argentendymis
