00:00The Bureau of Internal Revenue reminded taxpayers to pay their taxes before the deadline.

00:06Meanwhile, Joshua Garcia in the center of the news added a target collection to their account.

00:17The Bureau of Internal Revenue is working hard to meet the target of their tax collection for 2024 and 2025.

00:25Meanwhile, the deadline for the annual income tax return was set for April 15.

00:30According to BIR Commissioner Atty. Romeo Lumagi Jr.,

00:34their campaign was a good result for paying their taxes

00:38if they were able to collect more in 2024 than in 2023.

00:43We are continuing our webinars to explain to our countrymen

00:49how to file and pay their taxes that we said they don't need to wait for April 15.

00:58Many have already filed and many have already paid.

01:03That's why it's a good thing that our collection ran well in the first months of this year.

01:09The agency is also continuing to work hard to make the process easier.

01:13Unlike before, now they don't have to go to offices to pay their taxes.

01:19Instead, they can do it online through their official website and accredited payment channels.

01:24If they can't do it online, they can go to their tax assistance centers and district offices

01:30to guide their people electronically.

01:32This is part of improving their collection through digital transformation and ease of paying taxes law.

01:39While maintaining the integrity and professionalism of their services and agency.

01:44For now, BIR wants to give them more than P3 trillion collection target

01:50to help the government to fund projects such as infrastructure,

01:55helping the people, and more.

01:58The target that we were given is P3.23 trillion for 2025.

02:06That's why we need to increase our collection.

02:11We hope that we will do our best so that we can always meet this target.

02:19BIR also reminded that aside from criminal cases,

02:22there is a 12% interest and 25% surcharge for those who cannot pay their taxes within the deadline.
