00:04for the members of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025.

00:09Before this, Howard remembered his colorful career

00:12from his bitter and sweet memories.

00:15Here's teammate Rafael Banderera's story.

00:20Dwight Howard became emotional after receiving the news

00:25that he will be one of the members of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025.

00:32I knew I was going to do it. I was trying not to cry so fast.

00:36But I'm just so grateful, man, and just thankful for God and this opportunity.

00:41It's such a big honor. I'm just so happy, man. This is crazy.

00:50Howard was one of the most dominant force in the post and defensive players in the league

00:56from the mid-2000s to the 2010s.

00:59He was an All-Star and All-NBA Selection player

01:03five times in the NBA All-Defensive First Team and an Olympic Gold Medal.

01:08He was also accompanied by three NBA Defensive Player of the Year awards

01:14from 2009 to 2011.

01:17There's no doubt that Howard's career was in danger.

01:20But many doubted his true potential

01:24because he transferred to other clubs to try and win a title.

01:29Many thought that Howard had no chance to use it.

01:33But he finally did it as a part of the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.

01:39Howard admitted that it wasn't easy for him to adjust

01:43from being a superstar to being a role player.

01:47In the latest episode of his podcast, Above the Rim with DH12,

01:53the Filipino superman described his journey to win the championship.

01:59I'll never forget what Kurt Rambis said to me the first day I got to the Lakers.

02:04He said, you're not Dwight Howard no more.

02:07And as a player, I'm like, damn, what are you saying?

02:13I'm not Dwight Howard.

02:14Like, I thought you wanted me to be Dwight Howard.

02:19I didn't know how to take that.

02:20I didn't know how to take them saying, you're not going to get no shots.

02:24We just want you to do this.

02:25You might not play tonight.

02:27All these things that I was listening to.

02:29Sometimes you, Keith, Tony Batiste.

02:32Yeah, we all went through that.

02:34Everybody was saying to me, I'm going through it.

02:37I didn't know how to handle it.

02:39But I said, let me just try to smile it through,

02:42try to have as much fun, keep my work going.
