00:00Hi guys, I'm Natasha. I'm the manager of the Dead Poets Inn in Holbrook in
00:04Derbyshire. We've got this lovely gentleman here today talking to me
00:07about our lovely pub. I've got Alan here as well who's hiding from the camera at
00:11the moment but we'll go with that. I'm just here to tell you a little bit about
00:15our lovely pub and the fact that we've just won Amber Valley Camera Pub of the
00:18Year for the second time. So I'm immensely proud and I just want to use
00:22this platform to say how proud we are of all of our customers, of all of our
00:26lovely staff and our bosses that are looking after us. But yeah, so I just
00:30want to show you a little bit about our pub. So we've qualified, obviously we've
00:34won Amber Valley Camera Pub of the Year. We now qualify to go forward to fight
00:38against everyone else in South Derbyshire. So whoever's won for Derby,
00:43whoever's won for Erewash, whoever's won South Derbyshire, we'll all go head to
00:47head again and hopefully we'll get through. It's a tough competition though
00:52so lots to win. Obviously we've got all these lovely beers here so
00:56hopefully with help from our Brunswick Brewing Company we can win. So fingers
01:01crossed. So what type of beers do you sell? Oh we've got eight handpulls. There's
01:06another bar over here to my left. We've got eight real ales. We normally have a
01:10range of about 20 traditional ciders as well. Obviously we've got larbas for the
01:13larba drinkers but not our forte. We're linked with the Brunswick Brewing
01:18Company as I just said so we've always got a house beer on. We've always got
01:21draft bass because we're in Derbyshire and if I got that out I would not be
01:24running this pub anymore. We also have the lease with the pub with Everard so
01:29we always have old original on as a nod to them which is amazing. So lots of real ales.
01:33What would be the most popular beer you sell? Aside from bass I would
01:39definitely probably say the Brunswick's definitely becoming a firm favourite
01:42because we moved here in 2018 and not many people had had Brunswick beer in
01:45the village before. So when James Salmon, who was the head brewer, he obviously
01:51took over the business alongside Alan Pickersgill of the Brunswick Inn in
01:54Derby and we started putting our house beers in and it turned out that they
01:58were a massive hit so we sell no end of rocket now which is which is really good.
02:02Yeah we do we do a small lunchtime menu so we serve Tuesday right through to
02:07Sunday 12 till 2 in the week and then 12 till 4 on the weekends. Just sort of light
02:13bites like chip cobs things like that, pork pies etc. There's about 10 of us in
02:17total I think now yeah we will be starting to recruit though because we've
02:20got some lovely lovely young people that are moving on in their careers so
02:24been lovely to have them for a short while but yeah we're going to be
02:28starting recruiting soon onwards and upwards. Still run a successful quiz
02:31night so that's the first Wednesday of every month we have live music on the
02:36second and fourth Saturdays of every month. We've got our June beer festival
02:41coming up which is classed as a cider and sausage festival that's around the
02:4520th of June I believe but that'll be a that'll be a big one and then just
02:49looking forward to an amazing summer in our new beer garden.
