00:00Malacanang has ordered the LGUs to conduct an inspection of their homes in their jurisdictions.

00:20Malacanang is obliging local government units to conduct an inspection of their homes.

00:27This is also a part of the preparation of the Big One following the 7.7 magnitude quake that hit Myanmar this Friday.

00:41Atty. Castro is not calling for this, but a demand for the LGUs, especially if the Big One will hit.

00:52The building officers of each LGU can now proceed with the inspection while the PCO official has also given the order to halt the issuance of building permits.

01:04This is to ensure that the homes will be strong and in compliance with the building code.

01:10Local government units are also demanding that the building officers conduct an inspection, if possible, and to be strict with the issuance of permits.

01:27Meanwhile, the palace has confirmed the ongoing preparation of the government for the possibility of the Big One.

01:34Almost all of the government officials are practicing what to do in the event of the 7.2 magnitude quake that will hit Metro Manila and nearby areas.

01:49We cannot say when it will happen, but it is better to be prepared.

01:54Most of our government agencies are prepared for the emergence of an earthquake drill, fire drill, and we have prepared go bags.

02:05The Big One refers to an expected strong quake in the country that may occur if the West Valley Fault moves.

02:13The West Valley Fault is an active fault that passes through the areas of Rizal, Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, and Lalawigan ng Bulacan.
