00:12Gruppo Era inaugurates Fiber, the system that regenerates carbon fiber.
00:17Greener in 13 metropolitan cities, Mase launches the project Reforestation.
00:23It is born in Imola the first Italian plant for the regeneration of carbon fiber composites on an industrial scale.
00:30It is called FIBER and is made by Era Ambiente, controlled by Gruppo Era,
00:36the first Italian operator in the recovery and treatment of waste.
00:40FIBER reaches the more than 100 plants that Gruppo Era owns,
00:45investing more and more in the circular economy.
00:49This represents a solution for the Italian industry,
00:53because it unites competitiveness with environmental sustainability.
00:59Concrete, pragmatic, promotes short and circular lines,
01:04thus reducing the strong dependence on foreign import of carbon fiber.
01:09Because this plant is able to regenerate carbon fiber,
01:14thus obtaining a recycled carbon fiber that has the same characteristics of a green carbon fiber.
01:21So we also save energy and reduce, as I said before, the dependence on foreign import.
01:31Thanks to the assets of Era Ambiente and the know-how developed in the laboratories of Gruppo Leonardo,
01:37carbon fiber will be recycled with positive drawbacks in terms of sustainability and circularity.
01:43Era Ambiente has given us the opportunity to combine our waste,
01:48i.e. materials composed of carbon fiber that residue from the processing process of some airstructures,
01:55in materials that can be reused and marketed for other processes,
02:01virtually closing a circular process of production and processing,
02:08with great advantages, especially from the economic point of view,
02:13but also from the environmental impact and the possibility of providing critical raw materials,
02:19because this process can also be reused and applied to other critical raw materials of our process,
02:26such as aluminum and titanium.
02:28Among the industrial sectors interested in this excellence, from aerospace to nautical,
02:33from rentals to textile and fashion in the sector of automotive.
02:39I think this is part of a social responsibility, not only entrepreneurial,
02:47because we think that most of these materials come from Japan,
02:52with ships that consume one and a half million liters of fuel per month,
03:02so the fact of recycling, remaining in areas where they can be gradually reused,
03:10I think it is exactly what was missing.
03:15After 40 years, it is what was missing.
03:18The protection of urban green and the contrast to climate change is at the center of the Reforestation Conference,
03:24the project proposed by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Safety in the field of the PNRR.
03:29The initiative provides an investment of 211 million euros,
03:33intended for the planting of 4.5 million trees in 13 Italian metropolitan cities,
03:38with the aim of improving air quality, reducing pollution and making urban spaces more sustainable and livable.
03:45For us it is a very important project that is part of our DNA.
03:48We have already carried out projects of this type in the past,
03:52that see technology, nature and man put them all at the center.
03:57However, today we will present a study made by Palsy with the SEMIQ,
04:01where you can see the need of the citizens who want to live in green, in well-being.
04:07So combining technology, energy and well-being is a very important thing for us.
04:13Under Secretary of State Almase, Claudio Barbaro,
04:18together with representatives of the institutions Capitoline and the partners of the initiative,
04:22including Expo Italia and Palsy Luce Gas,
04:25Reforestation aims not only to increase the arboriculture heritage of cities,
04:29but also to develop a new model of urban green management through the involvement of the private sector,
04:35an innovative approach that introduces a public-private partnership
04:39to guarantee a more efficient and sustainable governance over time.
04:43Reforestation Urbana, 211 million invested by the Ministry of the Environment
04:47through a project funded by the PNRR funds,
04:51has been presented today as well as a form of public-private partnership
04:56that we are going to outline in its details.
04:59The project aims to strengthen urban resilience, reducing the effects of heat islands
05:04and improving the ability of cities to absorb CO2.
05:08In the coming months, the first operations of the Mazzione plant will start,
05:11with a program that will develop progressively throughout the territory involved,
05:16an initiative that stands out for its scope and for its environmental impact,
05:20with the involvement of 1,268 municipalities and over 21 million citizens,
05:25covering about 16% of the national territory.
05:28Since we started, we have tried to give a different dimension
05:33also in terms of communication of environmental dynamics.
05:36Environmental education is an important asset of the Ministry of the Environment and the State for many years,
05:42but we have found it, led by dynamics that refer to the relations with the school,
05:47that we are now transferring to all the issues related to the Ministry's communication models.
05:55The event also offered the opportunity to present the data of Palsiluce Gas Index,
06:00an observatory made with Nilsen IQ,
06:02which has highlighted how the presence of green spaces in cities
06:05is considered a priority for the quality of life of Italians,
06:09an aspect that makes the reforestation project
06:11a key pillar for the future of Italian urban areas.
