Kit is anxious to tackle his first baby-sitting job and promises Rebecca that her daughter Molly is safe with him. But Kit has to learn that the little girl turns out to be quite a handful.
Kit wakes Baloo up from a nap next to the Sea Duck, and pushes him into fulfilling his early appointment to help Rebecca with her shopping. The two travel to the Cunningham apartment, where Kit is set to babysit Molly while the adults are out. Kit eagerly embraces the opportunity, while Baloo is less than thrilled about the shopping trip. Rebecca leaves Kit with strict instructions, but he soon finds Molly a more formidable charge than he was expecting.
After getting her to settle down, Kit turns on Danger Woman, Molly's favorite radio show; she is soon dressed accordingly in her Danger Woman costume. Kit then takes her by wagon to get ice cream; during the trip, they overhear the Cape Suzette cliff guns firing to ward off attacking Air Pirates. However, pirate plane's approach is intended to drop a submarine into Cape Suzette's waters, with Mad Dog and Dumptruck being sent to sneak into the city to take plunder.
The two pirates cut their way through a protective net, unwittingly allowing a large sea creature to follow them in. Kit stops at an ice cream stand with Molly, only for her wagon to roll away downhill at high speed. She tears through the city, narrowly missing being spotted by her mother and Baloo as Kit tries to catch her. He succeeds just before she plunges into the bay, which the pirates in their sub do after accidentally getting caught on a seaplane as it takes off.
Having been spotted by the youngsters, Mad Dog decides to take the pair captive, but are scared off by the sea beast that's been following them. Kit and Molly rush back to the apartment, only to find that Rebecca and Baloo have beaten him back home. Rebecca, highly disappointed, orders her two employees out, much to Kit's dismay. As the two are leaving, Wildcat arrives with news of the sea monster; however, Kit decides to try and make things up to Rebecca while Baloo and Wildcat go after it.
Kit's pleas to the irate Rebecca go unheeded, but he is on the scene when the sea monster arrives, having been driven inland by the various attempts to capture it. It then reaches in through an open window of the apartment, and Kit bursts in just in time to rescue Molly. The two end up hanging from a ledge by a phone cord, and are spotted by Baloo who takes off in the Sea Duck to help them. Kit manages to jump onto a drainpipe, and Baloo swoops in just in time to catch him and Molly.
The creature, which continues to menace Rebecca, grabs hold of the Sea Duck, and after a struggle is dragged out above the bay. Mad Dog and Dumptruck, having had their fill of the city, leave with a parting gift: the Cunninghams' kitchen sink, which the creature drops on them from above.
