00:27To help in passing a legislation in connection with the proper use of artificial intelligence or AI

00:35This is one of the goals of the participants government agencies like the DOSD

00:39DICT and DTI under the AI governance capacity building initiative in partnership with the British Embassy and experts from the Alan Turing

00:47Institute the UK's National Institute of Science and AI

00:51According to DICT undersecretary Josel Batapa Sigue

00:54This is an important step for the government in terms of policymaking related to AI

00:59Especially since it can help various sectors such as agriculture and health while also understanding the risk or dangers it poses

02:22The four-day training focuses on elements of AI governance that legislators should consider when crafting strategies related to it

02:30To a discussion on the ethical questions that arise from how AI systems are being developed

02:39And then really move into thinking about how to address those risks and how to manage those risks to ensure that AI is used

02:48They believe that the Philippines is in a prominent position when it comes to a regulation that all governments now are realizing you can't just
