00:00The Transport Group established the new type of Filipino jeepney,
00:04which is the successor of the modern jeepneys.
00:07That is the message of Vel Custodio.
00:12The League of Transportation and Operations in the Philippines, or LTAP,
00:16presented the rehabilitated traditional jeepneys
00:18that can be compared to modernized jeepneys.
00:21The group believes that it is important to preserve the Filipino identity of jeepneys
00:26despite the modernization.
00:28I don't want to call it an existing jeepney.
00:31I don't want to call it a modern jeepney.
00:34I want to call it a minibus jeepney.
00:36The modernized jeepney is here in Liktrato.
00:41It is also the successor of the Republic Act No. 11981,
00:45or the Tatak Pinoy Act,
00:46which promotes the Filipino work that can be compatible with the global market.
00:51This is what LTAP presents as an electric modern jeepney.
00:55But what makes it different from most modern jeepneys that we drive
00:59is that it is made in the Philippines and it has 21 seating capacity.
01:03It is also passed through the UR4 standard of the DOTR.
01:07LTAP also ensured that rehabilitated jeepneys can withstand the flood.
01:12Aside from electric jeepneys, LTAP also showed two more types of rehabilitated jeepneys.
01:18This is the regular jeepney,
01:20while this is the air-conditioned jeepney that LTAP presents.
01:24What makes this regular jeepney different from the traditional jeepneys
01:28is that it is passed through the standard DOTR, the UR4.
01:32While this air-conditioned jeepney still uses fuel,
01:36but all of these jeepneys only cost 13 pesos to be massaged.
01:41The electronic air reactor uses the rehabilitated jeepney,
01:44where it has an air cleaner to increase the heat of the machine's compression.
01:49Through this, the fuel will be more efficient and the carbon will not be impacted
01:53which will help in reducing fuel consumption.
01:56It also uses engine oil that has a high metal viscosity
02:00for a better function of the machine.
02:02This is followed by the Clean Air Act,
02:04where the UR4 standard of the Department of Transportation
02:08and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources is included in the vehicles.
02:11Another thing that LTAP supports is the insurance commission for drivers.
02:15It supports the partnership with Fortune Insurance Company, Inc.
02:19They also support the launch of Driver's Village, a housing project,
02:23in collaboration with various government agencies,
02:27including the National Housing Authority, SSS, and Pag-ibig.
02:31The group also targets to have a scholarship program for drivers and their children
02:35and a retirement program.
02:37LTAP has the authority to present the programs they support
02:40and the rehabilitated jeepney in the DOTR.
02:43Vel Custodio for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
