00:00So just tell me a little bit about last season, like what about your game, you know,
00:06George has even just talked about in this episode, like not getting to practice as much.
00:10Charlie and I have talked about on the podcast about, hey, I think his reps are probably the
00:16reps he's getting on the road. So combine that with the amount of travel where you're playing.
00:21I mean, 2024 just had to be just the craziest year ever for you.
00:26Yeah, it was. And you said not as much practice. It's basically zero practice time.
00:31Like every day it's either streaming, filming, traveling at a tour event or a weekend. Well,
00:38weekends off at tour events is a regular thing for me as well. But weekends with the fam,
00:43like I got three girls and again, like trying to balance being a dad, have two full time jobs.
00:48And it's, it's, it's a lot. How are you going to manage that moving forward?
00:53Like with this huge YouTube career that you guys both have and then,
00:57hey, I mean, you don't take like when you have PGA Tour starts and they're giving you a tea time,
01:02like hard to turn that down, right? Right, I know. But I made the commitment last year that I was
01:07going to dial back my focus on the PGA Tour and playing professionally and channel more of my
01:13energy to the YouTube side. And I just threw that in. It was a tough decision because like I said,
01:20I saw my game starting to trend in the right direction. And even in 2023, having a little bit
01:25of success as well. And just where, where I was, I was very at peace with the decision to, hey,
01:32you know what the PGA Tour might not be it for me. And I'm okay with that. But again, I, if I get in
01:38tournaments, I want to play, I still have the competitive side to me. But I made the decision
01:43just to put my focus on YouTube knowing that what we're doing there could potentially for the,
01:49the bigger, the bigger picture and the greater good and the impact that we're going to have in
01:54the game of golf is potentially more than me even being a top 20 player in the world.
01:59So yeah, I made that decision. And then again, once I was freed up a little bit, the golf game
02:06got good. I started taking it a lot less serious and all of my practice rounds turned into
02:12quite literally jokes or filming videos. And again, even seven, eight years ago, I remember
02:18we fired up a Twitch stream, you and I at Napa. I don't know if you remember that.
02:22I did. Seven, five years ago. Yeah. We, we played a little match on Twitch. We can go find it. The,
02:29the, the records there. I don't remember. I don't remember exactly what it was, but
02:34what was it for? Was it on your channel? It was just on our, on our Twitch channel,
02:38way back when, like you, you were, you were part of the pioneer story for us.
02:42Holy moly. Here I am. I didn't know. I didn't know. I didn't know. I had it in my DNA. Here
02:47I am five years ago. I think genuinely it was one of our very first streams on Twitch.
02:54Was it just you and I, or was there, is it a match? No, just a little practice
02:58round. We were playing together in Napa and L O L. Do not remember that. Who won?
03:05Don't remember. It could have been Wesley. Wesley's not played Napa. Well, actually he
03:09played good there last year. I've played nice there. I'm, I kind of feel like not remembering
03:15anything that I won on 18, but that's just how I feel. I don't know. It has been pretty
03:22impressive watching Wesley, you know, everyone's going to say, Oh, I mean the, the top comments
03:27and questions and even like probably where you're at, like, Oh, I can't imagine you'd rather
03:32be commentating and play on the PJ tour. Wes, I can't believe you wrote a film,
03:35YouTube videos and play on the PJ tour, but like where we're at now, it's like,
03:38PJ tour is amazing, but there's some draw, like there's some things that like,
03:41in our current light, like what we're doing now, it's like you get more time with family or I mean,
03:45it's just, there's some trade offs that like, whatever. And so, but watching him
03:51play and like, he still has that drive, but he's gotten so much better the last year
03:55because again, that pressure's taken off where like, he doesn't feel like he has to do it for
03:59his job anymore, but also like, he's going into a way looser knowing that it's kind of like when I,
04:05like when I play in these events now, like YouTube is my main job. So like the reason I can make a
04:10cut in the PJ tour event out of never playing one is because like, at the end of the day, I know
04:14that's not my, I'm not doing it for my livelihood, um, which makes a big difference, but he's still
04:19going into these finished 25th at the farmers. That's awesome. I mean, if you play 20 finds,
04:24you know, I spilled my giblets all over the back nine of that place, but his practice round was
04:30an Aviara filming a one V one match, you know, on Tuesday, like the day before. And so like he,
04:35he goes into it now, some people are gonna say, Oh, he's not taking it seriously, but
04:39there's a, there's a part of that that makes you play better when you're in that mindset,
04:43which ultimately can be way more beneficial than you spending every waking minute and hour
04:47practicing, grinding, trying to prep, because you know, there's something to be said when you go
04:52into it with carefree, with the right mindset, like no matter how prepared you are, what practice
04:56like it's going to take your game to another level. And so.
