00:23Sometimes they encourage you to keep going. I'm not young anymore, but I still feel that I have some contribution to make. And I still love what I'm doing. And I recently made the film that I'm most proud of in my life, The Way. Emilio, who wrote it and directed it, we financed it ourselves. You know, we literally raised the money and mortgaged the house to get it done. And I've never had a film that had a more satisfying response.
00:49I met Kate first time. She's quite remarkable. She's one of my favorite actresses. I was very humbled to meet her last night. I was very shy meeting her. When we get around somebody that we admire in the business, you know, truly great talent, it's, it's hard not to be intimidated because, I mean, she was very disarming and funny, you know, but I mean, you're looking at her and you're realizing, oh my God, this is this magnificent actress, you know, that you've watched over the years.
01:13It's very gratifying that someone from our profession could have such, such a talent and such an influence. I was in the backstage at a benefit for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in 1965. And Reverend King was as close as that jar there. And I looked at him, oh my God, he's my hero. And I wanted desperately to meet him and I wanted the blessing, you know.
01:37And I said, oh no, no, no, he, I don't bother him. He's just here for a short time. He can't be bothered with you. Oh no, no, you must meet him. You must get the Black Quidditch. And I didn't. So it's one of the great regrets of my life that I didn't acknowledge someone that, that I so loved and so admired and it had such a profound influence on my life and on my whole society. I regret that I didn't get the blessing. So I'll get the blessing from you.
