Police in New South Wales have formed a strike force to investigate the suspicious death of a four-month-old baby boy.

00:00On the 21st of January police say that a four-month-year-old presented at Gunnedah Hospital with serious
00:07injuries.
00:08He was later airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle where he later died.
00:13Detective Inspector Tom Aylett says that parents are assisting with inquiries into the young
00:17boy's death.
00:18However, they do think that people local to the area may have more information than what
00:22they have told police.
00:23We're just looking for anyone that's in the community that can come forward about the
00:28family, anything they've witnessed or heard, you know, circumstances of this where a young
00:33child passes away, people in the community talk now, sometimes that's rumour, sometimes
00:37that's fact.
00:39We want the investigators to decipher what that information is and would encourage anyone
00:43to come forward to Crimestoppers or Gunnedah Police Station.
00:46Police say investigations into the boy's injuries are still being ascertained but they cannot
00:50rule out domestic violence.
