00:00The International Congress of Communications in Caracas came to an end after two days of work.
00:05Congress has taken a number of important decisions. Details from a special envoy, Junot Soner.
00:12Caracas, Venezuela continues to be a global center of the fight against fascism and imperialism.
00:18After three days of the World Festival of the Anti-Fascist International,
00:22on Monday finished the International Congress of Communication
00:25with an anti-fascist, anti-colonial, anti-patriarchal and anti-imperialist agenda.
00:30Its objective is to be part of constructing a new world.
00:34Our communication intended to recreate the narratives for changing the world,
00:42changing the subjectivities, the identities, changing the living people,
00:49with creating the new states, the new utopias, the new forms to be people, to be humanity.
01:02More than 400 delegates from 100 countries came together for two days. Their battlefield,
01:07communication, networks and the so-called social media owned by western corporations.
01:12In eight workshops they discussed ideas and proposals with concrete outcomes.
01:17We decided to make an executive secretary to work permanently, not just in Venezuela,
01:24also in each other country that is getting over here.
01:30A number of decisions were taken. Delegates agreed to establish the Hugo Chavez International
01:34People's Communication Award. The first grantee are the more than 100 Palestinian journalists
01:40who lost their lives in Israel's attacks.
01:43Imperialism's walls cannot be an obstacle against the communication and development
01:50of the peoples that love independence, peace and justice.
01:54This congress is a beacon and a window for us.
02:01Creating the network of the networks established was a permanent secretariat within the
02:05International University of Communication, an international team of researchers and the plan
02:10of action for the creation of media content. Media institutions will consolidate their
02:15relations within what delegates call the network of the networks, globally.
02:20As you know, Islamic resistance comes from other nature, Latin American socialism, the
02:28other one. But when these people that actually are trying hard to fight against imperialism
02:39come under or unite themselves under a unique flag of...
02:44Several speakers spoke about coordinating the effort with China and Russia. Delegates
02:49from the latter have already ideas.
02:51Russia has his own experience to struggle with fake news. On political level, on society
02:59level, we can propose a project of laws for any countries how to work with fake news.
03:08In her closing remarks, the rector of the International University of Communications,
03:12Tania Dias, said the congress was a step further to complete Simon Bolivar's dream.
03:17In communications, the liberator's vision is now beginning to embrace the entire world.
