00:12The House Quad Committee recommends a full-scale legal offense against Harry Roque for his
00:16ties to LuckySouth99.
00:19Vice President Sara Duterte and House Speaker Martin Romualdez's trust and approval ratings
00:23take a nosedive in a survey.
00:25Erwin and Ben Tulfo are the top senatorial bets in the latest PulseAsia survey.
00:30The Commission on Elections junks the petition to disqualify doomsday preacher Apollo Kibuloy's
00:35bid for the 2025 senatorial election.
00:38And hundreds of patients are forced to evacuate after Israel orders the closure of one of
00:42northern Gaza's last functioning hospitals.
01:04The House of Representatives' Quad Committee wants government agencies to mount a full
01:08legal attack against former Rodrigo Duterte spokesperson Harry Roque for his ties to
01:12PORAC's camhub LuckySouth99 and his escape to the UAE in the face of congressional warrants.
01:18Roque already faces human trafficking and money laundering complaints with the Justice
01:22Department in connection with LuckySouth99.
01:25Due to the lack of court warrants, Roque was able to leave the country.
01:29The Quad Committee also wants the Anti-Money Laundering Council to freeze Roque's accounts.
01:34Roque was the counsel for Whirlwind, the real estate company who leased property to then
01:38Pogo, LuckySouth99.
01:40Roque earlier admitted helping LuckySouth99's Catherine Cassandra Ong set meetings with
01:44the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation so the Pogo could renew its license.
01:49The committee says Roque must return to the Philippines immediately, but without a court
01:53warrant, the legal grounds to compel him to come home are limited.
01:58Vice President Sara Duterte and House Speaker Martin Rumuales' trust and approval numbers
02:03take a double-digit dive in the latest Pulse Asia survey.
02:06From 61% of Filipinos trusting Duterte in September, her score dips to 49% in November.
02:13Her approval rating also takes a nosedive from 60% in September to 50% in November.
02:18Meanwhile, Rumuales remains the least trusted among the country's top four officials.
02:23Only 21% say they trust him in November, down from 31% in September.
02:28His distrust rating rises to 35%, up from 25% in September.
02:33The survey was conducted from November 26 to December 3 as the House of Representatives
02:37were investigating Duterte's alleged misuse of public funds.
02:41Meantime, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s approval rating only drops by two percentage
02:45points to 48% nationally, while his trust rating drops by three percentage points, from
02:5050% in September to 47% in November.
02:56A recent Pulse Asia survey reveals Filipinos' pre-election picks for the 2025 midterm elections.
03:02Correspondents were asked if the midterm polls were held from November 26 to December
03:063, who would they vote for?
03:08Broadcaster and Axis Representative Erwin Tulfo leads the survey with 62% support, followed
03:14closely by Tito Soto at 59%, while Bong Go and Ben Tulfo rank third and fourth with 54
03:20and 52% respectively.
03:22Rounding out the pre-election picks are re-electionists Pia Cayetano and Bong Revilia, former Senators
03:27Manny Pacquiao and Ping Lakson, and TV host Willie Revillameh.
03:31The last two seats would be a close fight among Makati Mayor Abby Binay, re-electionist
03:36Senators Lito Lapid, Aimee Marcos, and Bato De La Rosa, and Las Pinas Congresswoman Camille
03:41Villar.
03:42Still within striking distance of the winning circle of 12 are former Senators Kiko Pangilinan,
03:47Gringo Honasan, Ba Makino, and former Interior Secretary Benjur Abalos.
03:54The Commission on Elections junks the petition to disqualify arrested doomsday preacher Apolo
03:58Kibuloy from running for the 2025 senatorial elections.
04:02Kamalek finds the grounds for disqualification to be incorrect and without factual and legal
04:07basis.
04:08Kibuloy faces sexual and child abuse and qualified trafficking charges and was arrested in September
04:13after months of evasion and violence.
04:15He is also in the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation's Most Wanted list for sex trafficking of children
04:20and promotional money laundering.
04:23But to Kamalek says, Kibuloy's ongoing legal challenges do not merit disqualification without
04:29a final decision.
04:30Kibuloy filed his COC through a representative in October.
04:35Israel orders the closure and evacuation of one of northern Gaza's last functioning hospitals,
04:40forcing medics to search for a way to bring hundreds of patients and staff to safety.
04:44Kamal Edwan Hospital head Husam Abu Safiya says obeying the shutdown is next to impossible
04:49due to the lack of ambulances to get the nearly 400 patients out safely.
04:54He also says the hospital is under heavy bombardment and direct targeting of the fuel
04:58tanks, which can cause civilian mass casualties.
05:01The Israeli military has yet to comment on Abu Safiya's remarks.
05:05Israel says its operation around the three communities on the northern edge of Gaza is
05:09targeting Hamas militants.
05:11Meantime, on Saturday, December 21, Pope Francis again condemned Israel's airstrikes in Gaza.
05:17Francis opened his annual Christmas address saying,
05:19Yesterday, children were bombed.
05:21This is cruelty.
05:23This is not war.
05:24In book excerpts published in November, the pontiff said some international experts said
05:28that what is happening in Gaza has the characteristics of a genocide.
05:33Israeli Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli criticized Francis' comments, saying
05:37the Pope's remarks amounted to a trivialization of the term genocide.
05:43And that's today's wrap.
