00:00Good afternoon from Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center, this is our update on the weather for the next 24 hours.
00:09Earlier this afternoon at 3 o'clock, the center of Tropical Storm Pabuk, formerly known as Storm Romina,
00:16was hit by a 165-kilometer flood of free islands.
00:20So, this is far from our land and we don't expect any direct effect on any part of our country.
00:28Meanwhile, we can see here in our latest satellite images,
00:32the thick clouds in the eastern part of our country, particularly here in Southern Luzon and some parts of Eastern Visayas,
00:41is the continuous effect of the shoreline or the hot and cold wind.
00:46So, we still expect a high chance of rain here in some parts of Eastern Visayas,
00:52in Cabiculan, and also here in Calabarzon, the whole of Mimaropa, and also in some areas of Western Visayas,
00:59in the provinces of Aklan and Capiz.
01:02Meanwhile, in some parts of Luzon, it is the continuous effect of the northeast monsoon or the cold wind.
01:09So, we expect that this flood and storm will bring this weather system to the eastern part of Northern and Central Luzon.
01:17So, in those areas of Cagayan Valley, as well as here in Cordillera, Metro Manila, and some parts of Central Luzon.
01:26For the rest of Luzon, in Ilocos Region, 10 parts of Central Luzon, as well as here in 10 parts of Visayas and the whole of Mindanao,
01:35for the next 24 hours, this weather system will continue.
01:38Generally, in fair weather conditions, we are still prepared for the chances of sudden and quick rains that will result in thunderstorms,
01:46especially in the afternoon and evening.
01:49And this will be our forecast for tomorrow in this part of Luzon.
01:54The rain will continue to fall in some areas of Southern Luzon, in the regions of Calabarzon,
02:00as well as here in Bicol Region and a large part of Mimaropa.
02:04So, in these areas, especially here in the areas of Quezon and Bicol Region, we are prepared for the chances of floods and landslides.
02:11For the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, we are expecting a strong downpour in the Northeast Monsoon.
02:18So, we are expecting a cloudy sky tomorrow.
02:21And if we are going to experience rain, these will be the light rains in the afternoon, especially here in the area of Ilocos Region.
02:28Maximum temperature forecast for tomorrow, it is possible to reach 31°C.
02:3324°C in Baguio City, 28°C in Tagaytay.
02:37Maximum temperature forecast for Metro Manila tomorrow, it is possible to reach 30°C.
02:4229°C here in Legazpi and 27°C in Tagaytay.
02:49In the areas of Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao, also because of the shoreline,
02:54the areas of Kalayaan Islands, as well as some areas of Western Visayas,
03:01as well as Eastern Visayas and Summer Island, as well as Leyte Island and Biliran,
03:07we are hoping that the rainfalls of the shoreline will continue, especially in the afternoon and evening,
03:14when we are going to experience strong rains.
03:19For the rest of Palawan, or for the majority of Palawan, rest of Visayas and the whole of Mindanao,
03:25starting tonight until early tomorrow, we have a good chance of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
03:32But these rainfalls are just temporary.
03:34We are hoping that starting tomorrow morning until afternoon, the weather will be clear again.
03:40Maximum temperature forecast for Kalayaan Islands and Puerto Princesa tomorrow,
03:45possible to reach 30°C.
03:4831°C in the area of Iloilo and Cebu and 31°C in the area of Tacloban.
03:54Maximum temperature forecast for Cagayan de Oro tomorrow, possible to reach 32°C.
04:0033°C in the area of Davao and 33°C in the area of Zamboanga.
04:08This is our latest weather advisory issued as of 5pm today.
04:13We are hoping for heavy to intense rains that will hit the shoreline.
04:17These are the areas shaded in orange in the provinces of Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, and Catanduanes.
04:25Moderate to heavy in the areas shaded in yellow in the provinces of Quezon, Camarines Norte, Marinduque,
04:32Romblon, Masbate, Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Aklan, and Sakapis.
04:40These are the areas that will experience heavy to intense rains.
04:43Again, in the provinces of Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Northern Samar,
04:48let's be prepared for heavy rainfall and landslides
04:51because these are the areas that will be most affected by the rains that will hit the shoreline.
04:56Our time period starts from today afternoon until tomorrow afternoon.
05:01Tomorrow afternoon until Wednesday afternoon, heavy to intense rains will continue to hit the shoreline.
05:08We will notice that some areas will experience heavy rainfall that will hit the shoreline.
05:12The reason for this is that if there is a northward shift of rainfall that will hit the shoreline,
05:19the axis of this weather system will increase.
05:21We are still hoping for heavy to intense rains in some parts of the Bicol region,
05:26in the provinces of Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and Camarines Norte.
05:30The rainfall here in Quezon will also increase.
05:32We are hoping for heavy to intense rains here in the provinces of Aurora.
05:37Moderate to heavy rains will hit the areas shaded in yellow in the provinces of Isabela, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque,
05:46Romblon, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar.
05:53When it comes to Wednesday afternoon to Thursday afternoon,
05:56we are still hoping for the continued increase in the rainfall that will hit the shoreline.
06:02Some parts of Cagayan Valley or the northern portion of Cagayan Valley will experience heavy to intense rains.
06:09Heavy to intense rains will hit the areas shaded in orange in the provinces of Aurora and Quezon.
06:16We are also hoping for moderate to heavy rains in the areas shaded in yellow in the provinces of Cagayan,
06:23including Baboyan Islands, Isabela, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal,
06:28in the provinces of Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon,
06:34in the provinces of Marinduque, Romblon, Masbate, and Northern Samar.
06:39Again, the areas that I mentioned in the next three days,
06:44especially the areas that will experience heavy to intense rains,
06:48we are ready to face the storms that will hit the land
06:51because we are hoping for the strong and continuous rainfalls that will hit the shoreline for the next three days.
06:59That's why we are staying away from the possible heavy rainfall warnings
07:02or the rainfall advisories that are being issued by our companions
07:06in the hope of the regional centers in our localities.
07:09And in our coastal area, as of 5 p.m. today, we still have a gale warning high
07:14here in the northern and western coasts of Ilocos Norte,
07:18so in the provinces of Pagudpud, Bangui, Burgos, and Pasukin.
07:22There is also a gale warning here in the northern and eastern coasts of Catanduanes,
07:26in the provinces of Baras, Gigmoto, Viga, Panganiban, Bagamonoc, and Pandan.
07:31So to our fellow fishermen and those who will go fishing in these areas,
07:37if possible, let's not go too far because we will experience a strong wind.
07:45And for our three-day extended weather outlook in the neighboring cities of our country,
07:50starting on Wednesday, on the day of Christmas,
07:53the rainy season that we are hoping for here in some parts of Luzon.
07:57So because of the effect of the shoreline, or the combination of hot and cold winds,
08:01we will experience rains that will fall this weather season in parts of Metro Manila
08:06and a large part of Central and Southern Luzon.
08:09The rains that will continue to fall in the northeast monsoon,
08:12or the cold winds in Baguio City, in these three days,
08:15so from Wednesday to Friday, we expect this rainy season in Baguio City,
08:19where the cold winds will fall.
08:21It will also continue, like what I mentioned earlier,
08:23the effect of the shoreline in a large part of Cabiculan,
08:26so that includes Legazpi City, on the day of Christmas.
08:29But improving weather conditions that we are hoping for,
08:32near Thursday and Friday,
08:35so our time here in Metro Manila will be clearer.
08:39Even so, there are still chances of rainfall
08:42in the afternoon and evening after the thunderstorms.
08:44This includes a large part of Southern Luzon, including Bicol Region, or Legazpi City.
08:50Maximum temperature forecast for Metro Manila for the next three days
08:54is possible to reach 31 degrees Celsius,
08:5723 degrees in Baguio City,
08:59and 30 degrees Celsius in Legazpi City.
09:02In the areas of Visayas,
09:05Western Visayas and Eastern Visayas, because of the shoreline,
09:08we will still experience rain on the day of Christmas,
09:13so the area of Iloilo City and Tacloban City,
09:16we will still be prepared for possible rainfalls and landslides.
09:22But in Central Visayas,
09:23fair weather conditions will continue for these three days,
09:28and improving weather conditions that we are hoping for
09:31in the areas of Western and Eastern Visayas,
09:34from Thursday to Friday.
09:35So maximum temperature forecast for Metro Cebu
09:37for the next three days is possible to reach 32 degrees Celsius,
09:4232 degrees in the area of Iloilo City,
09:44and 32 degrees Celsius in Tacloban City.
09:48On the day of Christmas,
09:49in some areas of Mindanao,
09:52in the cities of Metro Davao, Cagayan de Oro City,
09:55and Zamboanga City,
09:56we will experience generally fair weather,
09:58aside from occasional rainfalls and thunderstorms,
10:01usually from afternoon to night.
10:03On the next days,
10:05on Thursdays and Fridays,
10:07because of the easterlies,
10:09or the hot wind from the Pacific Ocean,
10:12we will be able to experience scattered thunderstorms
10:15on these days.
10:16So on Thursdays and Fridays,
10:19especially in the eastern section of Mindanao,
10:21in the regions of Caraga and Davao Region,
10:23we will experience a high chance of rain,
10:25as well as in some areas of the Zamboanga Peninsula.
10:28But the clear weather will continue
10:31in the central portion of Mindanao for these three days.
10:34So this area of Cagayan de Oro City,
10:36we expect generally fair weather.
10:38We will still experience occasional rainfalls
10:40and thunderstorms.
10:42The high temperature here in Manila
10:44will drop later at 5.33 in the morning,
10:47and will rise tomorrow at 6.17 in the morning.
