00:00So update, this is our update on our monitor, Typhoon Leon.
00:06This is our latest satellite image.
00:08So this is Leon earlier, earlier at 4 in the afternoon,
00:12at a distance of 505 kilometers,
00:14east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
00:16This is carrying a strong wind of 150 kilometers per hour,
00:20close to the center, and a gust of 185 kilometers per hour.
00:25It's moving in the direction of Canluran,
00:27north of Canluran, at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour.
00:30And we can see that mostly,
00:32Leon is affected by those in the area of Northern Luzon,
00:37as well as in the eastern part of Luzon,
00:40but his trough or extension is possible to reach the Visayas area.
00:45That's why we always monitor the upcoming updates of the forecast.
00:49Let's take a look at Leon's track.
00:53So this yellow area, yellow-orange area,
00:56these are the strong winds, at least 39 kilometers per hour.
01:00And this red area, these are also strong winds,
01:04at least 89 kilometers per hour.
01:07And then, we can see this enclosed area.
01:11This does not indicate the magnitude of the typhoon,
01:13but this area is where the center of the typhoon is possible to reach,
01:18if it has a shift to the west,
01:20so it's possible to reach.
01:22So we can see, although there is a distance,
01:25at least in the landmass of the Philippines,
01:27but some parts of the extreme northern Luzon are within the area of probability,
01:32that's why the landfall scenario around Batanes area was not ruled out.
01:36So we can also see on the track,
01:38it's possible for this to go in the northwest direction
01:42before the landfall on the eastern coast of Taiwan.
01:47So we can also see that around Thursday,
01:50Leon is the closest to Batanes area.
01:54And then, as we mentioned earlier,
01:57the landfall scenario to Batanes was not ruled out
02:00because it's within the area of probability.
02:04We also expect that Leon will continue to intensify
02:09while it's in the sea, the east of the Philippine Sea.
02:14And then, likely, while it's also close to Batanes,
02:18we don't rule it out,
02:19or it's possible to go to the super typhoon category.
02:23So we expect that it's possible for it to go out
02:25in our Philippine area of responsibility,
02:28Thursday evening or Friday early morning.
02:31So we will continue to wait for updates
02:34if we will have possible landfall events.
02:42So because of this,
02:44Tropical Cyclone Wind
02:46Signal No. 2
02:47Batanes, Babuyan Islands,
02:49Mainland Cagayan,
02:50Northern and Eastern portion of Isabela,
02:52Apayau,
02:53Northern portion of Calinga,
02:55Northern portion of Abra,
02:57and Ilocos Norte.
02:59Signal No. 1
03:00Isabela, Tirino,
03:03Calinga, Mountain Province,
03:07Benguet, Abra,
03:11Ilocos Sur,

03:13Eastern portion of Nueva Ecija,
03:16Aurora,
03:18Northern and Eastern portion of Quezon,
03:20including Polilio Islands,
03:22Camarines Norte,
03:23Camarines Sur,
03:24Catanduanes,
03:25Albay,
03:26Northern portion of Sorsogon.
03:29So we are mentioning that the highest possible
03:32Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal
03:34that we can increase
03:35during the passage of Leon
03:37can be Signal No. 3 or 4.
03:39But we showed earlier that
03:41it is possible for Leon to be a Super Typhoon category
03:44so it is not ruled out
03:46if we will increase Signal No. 5.
