00:00Good evening Sadler's fans, I'm outside Bescott where Walsall have just extended their lead
00:05at the top of League Two to four points with a 1-0 victory over Barrow. It was Taylor Allen's
00:14first half strike, a low effort which deflected beyond Paul Farman and into the far bottom
00:21corner that proved decisive as Walsall registered a third league win on the bounce and extended
00:28that league unbeaten run to 10 games. Port Vale's goalless draw at Bromley has opened
00:35up that four point gap and guaranteed Walsall top spot at Christmas. Walsall obviously boasted
00:43game in hand over Port Vale as well. Harrogate next weekend away from home before back-to-back
00:51home fixtures over the Christmas period and Matt Sadler made one change. George Hall dropped out
00:59of the squad altogether and Matt Sadler confirmed that Hall suffered a hamstring issue towards the
01:06end of training on Friday. He was unable to shed any more light in terms of what that will mean
01:11in terms of a time frame or what that will mean for the long term but I expect we'll hear more
01:17on that over the coming days. Ryan Sturck also had to be replaced just before the hour. Matt
01:22Sadler said that he had been suffering with illness and that's the reason he came off. Charlie
01:27Lakin then filled into that number six slot and he was a standout today. A really good performance
01:32from him and then I spoke to Matt Sadler about the speculation surrounding his future. There was a
01:38report that came out yesterday that he was being considered for the managerial vacancies at Millwall
01:45and Northampton Town. Matt Sadler said that talk will always happen in football but that his focus
01:51is very much on the task at hand at Walsall. So top of the tree at Christmas with things looking
01:57rosy at the best got.
