00:00This Christmas and New Year, Transport for London has announced a series of changes that
00:05could affect travel across the capital. Firstly, from Christmas Day, December 25th until New
00:11Year's Day, January 1st, there will be some key disruptions across TfL services. The
00:17congestion charge will be suspended during this period, meaning drivers will not have
00:22to pay the ÂŁ15 daily charge to drive in the central congestion zone. However, if you're
00:29driving in London, the ultra-low emission zone will remain in operation for all days
00:34except Christmas Day, so keep an eye on the type of vehicle you're driving. For those
00:40planning to use public transport, there will be a reduced service on parts of the tube
00:44and overground networks. This is due to planned maintenance works, which will impact some
00:50routes. Mainline services from Paddington and Liverpool street stations will also be
00:55affected so it's a good idea to check in advance if you're travelling on these lines.
01:01If you're planning to head out on New Year's Eve, TfL will be running extra trains to help
01:07you to get to celebrations. So whether you're heading to a party, a firework display or
01:12just taking in the festive atmosphere, there will be more options to get around during
01:17New Year's Eve. TfL's Chief Operating Officer, Claire Mahon, says this festive period we
01:23are once again excited to help Londoners and visitors experience all the entertainment,
01:29culture, bars and restaurants and shops that the capital has to offer. TfL's services
01:35are the best way to easily and safely get around the city.
01:42In the run-up to Christmas, most lines will conduct a normal service, however on Christmas
01:47Day itself, most of the underground network will be out of action. For more on this and
