00:52Cuba.
00:53Let's begin with the news.
01:10The Israeli occupation forces entered the rural region south of Damascus, the Syrian
01:15capital, near the Lebanese border.
01:17The forces seized the town of Hina, with the aim of advancing towards Khan al-Sheikh, in
01:22the Katana area, opposite the Lebanese Rashaya neighborhood.
01:26The Israeli tanks were less than 3 kilometers from the town of Katana, and about 20 kilometers
01:31from Damascus.
01:32According to Lebanese military and security analyst Charles Abinader, the Israeli troops
01:38infiltrated into Syrian territory without encountering resistance.
01:48And the UN registers that more than 1.6 million people are at risk of being displaced in Syria.
01:55This figure is in addition to the hundreds of thousands who have already been forced
01:58to flee.
01:59According to World Food Program director Cindy McCain, $250 million are urgently needed to
02:06prevent more people in Syria from falling into famine.
02:09She explained that agency members remain there and providing vital assistance despite the
02:13escalating situation, adding that they continue to expand their work to ensure that food reaches
02:19people in need, wherever they are.
02:29And the coalition of armed terrorist groups in Syria, responsible for the overthrow of
02:33President Bashar al-Assad, announced the creation of a transitional government led by Mohammed
02:38al-Bashir.
02:39According to the terrorist coalition, al-Bashir, who until now was at the head of a terrorist
02:44group belonging to the al-Qaeda organization, will be in charge of managing the transition
02:48phase in order to establish the new government, under the pretext of preventing Syria from
02:53entering into a state of chaos.
02:55The announcement was made after talks between the extremist groups and former Prime Minister
03:00Mohammed al-Halali.
03:01Mohammed al-Bashir, head of Syria's transitional government, is a politician and engineer who
03:12served as Minister of Development in the Government of Salvation during the fifth and sixth sessions.
03:18Later, the Shura General Council announced that he had received a majority vote of confidence
03:23to head the Council of Ministers in early 2024.
03:27Al-Bashir is a key member of the Hayat Tariq al-Sham terrorist group, an affiliate of the
03:31al-Qaeda organization.
03:40And terrorist groups in Syria have declared a curfew in several parts of the country following
03:45the overthrow of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
03:47The measure came into force from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. local time in the cities of Damascus,
03:53Latakia and Tartus.
03:55Authorities warned the public that those who do not comply with their decision will be
03:59sentenced to one month in prison.
04:01Medical personnel, firefighters, ambulance workers and security forces are the only ones
04:06exempted from the ban.
04:26The International Federation of Journalists has informed that as of December 10, 2024,
04:33104 journalists have been killed worldwide.
04:36According to this data, 2024 has been another particularly deadly year for journalists and
04:41media professionals.
04:42The organization reaffirms its commitment to the urgent adoption by the United Nations
04:47of a global convention to protect journalists.
04:50In this context, for the second year in a row, the Middle East is the region that holds
04:54the decimal record for the number of journalists killed, reaching 66 dead in 2024, 55 of them
05:00in Gaza.
05:01On October 13, 2023, the International Federation of Journalists urged UNESCO to make efforts
05:07for the protection of the members of this sector.
05:18Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived in court to testify as a defendant
05:21in criminal charges against him for three separate cases.
05:25Netanyahu will answer charges of fraud, breach of trust and accepting bribes in three separate
05:30cases during his court appearances.
05:32He denies wrongdoing and says the charges are a witch hunt orchestrated by a hostile
05:36media and a biased legal system that seeks to overthrow him.
05:40Dozens of people gathered outside the court in Tel Aviv, some to protest against Netanyahu,
05:46including relatives of hostages held in Gaza.
05:49It will be the first time an Israeli Prime Minister testifies as a defendant in a criminal trial.
06:00South Korea's parliament on Tuesday approved a motion to appoint a prosecutor to investigate
06:05President Jun Suk-kyo over the introduction of martial law.
06:09The declaration of martial law, the first in more than 40 years, lasted only about six
06:14hours but triggered large street protests.
06:17Jun and his associates faced criminal investigations and impeachment attempts.
06:22In this context, the Justice Ministry has also banned the President and eight others
06:27from leaving the country.
06:29Likewise, former Defense Minister Kim Jong-un, who has been accused of recommending the martial
06:35law and sending troops to the National Assembly to prevent lawmakers from voting on it, has
06:40been detained since Sunday.
06:47And now, we have a short break coming up, but first remember you can join us on TikTok

07:00We'll be right back, stay with us.
07:17On the first anniversary of Javier Mele's government in Argentina, the ultra-right-wing
07:30president drove approximately 23 million people into poverty.
07:35More than half of the population has fallen into poverty as a result of the neoliberal
07:39economic policies implemented by Mele.
07:43In this context, the Gross Domestic Product contracted more than 66 percent of children
07:48under the age of 14 in households with incomes below poverty levels, and key sectors such
07:54as industry, construction and retail trade are facing major difficulties.
07:59Likewise, thousands of people, mostly unemployed and retired, depend on sub-kitchens.
08:03At the same time, Mele eliminated regulations in sectors such as energy and private healthcare.
08:14It is terrible, but today, I have nothing to eat.
08:21I don't come every day, but when the spontaneous need arises, I say, phew, I don't have money,
08:27I don't have any.
08:29I have already asked for loans here and there.
08:33So I have to come here.
08:35They take care of me here.
08:37They give me food for the day.
08:42We used to cook 13 pots.
08:44Since Mele took over, we cooked 28 pots and there is not enough food.
08:48The government sends food for 1,800 rations.
08:51However, we distribute rations for 4,000 and 5,000 people on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
08:56The group of priests of the Option for the Poor issued a communiqué on Monday accusing
09:00Argentine President Javier Mele of creating hunger among the population.
09:05Through a statement, the group affirmed that one year after Mele's government took over
09:09the executive power, the real winner was the concentrated economic power.
09:13They summarized the main problems of different groups that have been abandoned by the state,
09:18such as doctors, pensioners, universities, laid-off workers and indigenous people and
09:23rural communities.
09:25On one year after La Libertad Avanza assumed the presidency of the nation, the Social Observatory

09:36poverty line.
09:39And in Peru, relatives of those murdered in 2022 in Ayacucho protested outside the
09:50airport of that region to reject the presence of Dina Boluarte.
09:54The demonstration took place within the framework of the commemoration of the 200th anniversary
09:59of the Battle of Ayacucho, where groups of people rejected the president for the coup
10:03that led to her appointment and left at least 50 dead.
10:07Likewise, social organizations demand justice as they assure that the authorities have not
10:12taken the right measures.
10:13In this regard, the demonstrators took the opportunity to reflect on the independence
10:17of Peru, considering that the people continue to be subjected to a colonial regime and the
10:22predominance of the great economic powers.

12:17over 3,300 houses and buildings as well.
12:21Authorities in the Philippines evacuated more than 9,200 people living in areas threatened
12:34by the eruption of the Canlao volcano.
12:37The civil defense said 9,403 residents of areas close to the volcano, located on the
12:42island of Negros, have already been moved to evacuation centers.
12:47It informed that food would have to be collected and shipped to feed some 34,000 people, as
12:53well as thousands of tents and beds.
12:55The Canlao volcano erupted last Monday afternoon, spraying a cloud of ash that quickly rose
13:003,000 meters up the chimney, scattering debris in numerous towns and spraying hot volcanic
13:05gases.
13:06And Brazilian authorities also declared a state of water scarcity for five of the country's
