00:00In Venezuela, representative of the Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez Foundation opened a
00:16hall in homage to the first meeting between Hugo Chávez, Frias, and the leader of the
00:20Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.
00:25A human rights organization known as Europe Met Human Rights Monitor denounced that Israel's
00:29regime is committing urban massacres in Gaza.
00:36A Russian government condemns the support of the Ukrainian regime to various terrorist
00:39organizations in the Sahel region.
00:47Hello and welcome from the south, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from the Televisual Studios
00:51in Havana, Cuba.
00:52We begin with the news.
00:53In Venezuela, representative of the Eternal Commander Hugo Chávez Foundation will open
00:59a hall in homage to the first meeting between Hugo Chávez, Frias, and the leader of the
01:03Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.
01:05The ceremony took place within the framework of the celebration of the 30th anniversary
01:10of this historical moment.
01:12On the same occasion, the newspaper La Esperanza está en la calle was presented, which gathered
01:16hundreds of local and national press clippings from 1994 on Commander Hugo Chávez.
01:22This election is the result of extensive research carried out by historian Lucas Gordner, who
01:28highlighted the love of the Venezuelan people for Commander Chávez and stressed the importance
01:32of keeping his memory alive to strengthen and expand the Bolivarian Revolution towards
01:36the world.
01:44The commemoration of the death of the liberator brings us together first, and in the framework
01:49of this date, we remember that it was precisely 30 years ago, and for that very reason that
01:54Commander Chávez traveled to Havana for the first time and that first meeting took place.
01:59That first embrace between Commander Chávez and Commander Fidel Castro, and to pay tribute
02:04to a moment that was decisive for what was to be later the course of the history of our
02:08America today, we open the doors of a small but emotional room called the First Embrace
02:13and is dedicated to the love relationship between Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro that
02:17begins with that embrace.
02:24Well, hope in the street is a slogan of the commander which came out.
02:30Even when he returned to the street, that was the slogan that went out everywhere.
02:34People started to paint hope is in the street because Chávez at that time said that the
02:38salvation of the people was not in Rafael Caldera, it was not in Miraflores.
02:43He said, I am not going to Miraflores.
02:46I'm going to the catacombs of the people.
02:48I'm going to build a revolution together with the people.
02:54In Colombia, the Quinta de Bolívar Museum commemorates the 194th anniversary of the
02:59passing into immortality of the liberator Simón Bolívar in the city of Bogotá.
03:03The commemorative act was attended by the diplomatic representation of Venezuela created
03:07in Colombia, members of the Advisory Commission of Foreign Relations, and of the National
03:11Congress.
03:12Likewise, authorities commemorate the legacy of the liberator with a floral tribute, remembering
03:17also his influence in the unity and integration of Latin America, which brought justice, emancipation,
03:22and self-determination to the peoples.
03:24In this sense, participants highlighted the important role played by Venezuela in the
03:28peace of the Colombian country and made a call to abandon the polarization that separates
03:33the sister nations.
03:34Venezuela has played a very important role historically.
03:43This is not of today.
03:45Venezuela has accompanied many attempts at peace since practically the 90s and has always
03:49been very firm.
03:50It has played a fundamental role today as guarantor at the dialogue table in good times
03:55and in bad, in crises, and when things are going well.
03:58So all our gratitude to this place, to this commitment, and to this vocation for peace.
04:09That is why I call on us to leave ideological polarization aside, to understand that the
04:14relationship between countries is not managed by governments, but by states.
04:19That is why they are permanent.
04:20That is why in some way they have no ideological sign or political color, nor do they obey
04:28any tribe.
04:29So that the invitation we make from here in the Quinta de Bolivar, as we call it in
04:33Bogota, to look for the things that unite us and work on a special relationship between
04:39Colombia and Venezuela.
04:45Also in Bolivia, the Chamber of Deputies commemorated the 194th anniversary of the passing to immortality
04:50of Liberator Simón Bolívar.
04:52Through the legislature, Gloria Calleja, Secretary of the Committee of Ordinary Jurisdiction,
04:56the country paid homage with her offerings, highlighting the legacy of unity and struggle
05:01for independence left by the Liberator Bolívar in the Latin American people.
05:06The organization of the event was carried out by the Embassy of Venezuela in the country,
05:11the presence of military and police authorities, as well as diplomatic representatives and
05:15other authorities.
05:20And in Panama, the Emanuel Amador Art Gallery presents, as it does every year, the annual
05:25exhibition in homage to the victims of the United States' invasion of the country on
05:29December 20, 1989.
05:31The Art Gallery annually holds between 14 and 16 exhibitions dedicated to commemorating
05:36the victims of the U.S. invasion, in addition to paying tribute to the victims of the desecration.
05:42This year's exhibition includes, for the first time, images presented by the December 20
05:47Commission on the Exhumation carried out in 2020 and 2021 to try to find the bodies of
05:52the disappeared, who are presumed to have been buried in mass graves of the invading
05:56army.
05:57The gallery celebrates 30 years of management, making these exhibitions in tribute to the
06:02fallen at the hands of the U.S. government.

06:22Welcome back.
06:39The Ecuadoran Court will resume Wednesday the case on the sanction imposed by the Ministry
06:43of Labor against the Vice President Veronica Abad after having suspended the hearing four
06:48times.
06:49If the court ruled out in favor of Abad, the sanction against her would be abrogated,
06:53which would deprive her from duty for 150 days, earning no wages.
06:57In this regard, analysts describe such a harassing measure as illegal, while the Ecuadoran parliament
07:02is the only authority to suspend or sanction Veronica Abad.
07:06They further consider that such a decision of the executive aims at preventing Abad from
07:11office due to the fact that the current head of state, Adil Ndobua, expressed his intention
07:15to be re-elected.
07:16So, he would have to enable her as the interim president during his electoral campaign.
07:24The 22nd edition of the series of conversations, Cuba and U.S. foreign policy, was held in
07:30Havana.
07:31With the participation of the Cuban Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Fernández de Cossío,
07:35the Forum for Dialogue and Relations between Havana and Washington was inaugurated.
07:39In this context, the minister stated that Cuba is willing to negotiate with the United
07:43States in search of a relationship based on respect for sovereignty and non-interference
07:48in internal affairs.
07:50He also added that despite the pressures from the U.S. government, they would not be able
07:54to bend the will of the Cuban people.
08:05The U.S. government has caused much harm to the people of Cuba and continues to do so
08:10and may cause even greater harm in the years to come.
08:21The goal of mercilessly harming the people of Cuba can be achieved since the U.S. government
08:26is a powerful government and has the destructive capacity to cause such harm.
08:31What it will not be able to do is to achieve the objective of bending the will of the Cubans.
08:37Our will.
08:38It has not been able to do so until now, and it will not be able to do so.
08:46This Tuesday, Cuba celebrated the 10th anniversary of the return of its five heroes to the island
08:50with a political and cultural event.
08:53President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Commander Raúl Castro, among other representatives
08:57of the Executive and the Communist Party, led the celebration.
09:01The Cuban people and guests of various nationalities celebrated in Havana this historical epic
09:05that recalled the loyalty, firmness, and dignity of Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Lavañino,
09:10Antonio Guerrero, René González, and Fernando González, who firmly stood up to the unjust
09:15sentence imposed by a U.S. court.
09:23And in the rural area of La Huaca, Mexico City, most of an edible herb known as romelito
09:28is produced and forms part of a representative dish of the Christmas dinner.
09:33This year, a series of floods put part of the crop at risk.
09:35Let's see more details.
09:40Don Gustavo has been a fruit and vegetable merchant for 45 years.
09:45He knows that during the Christmas season, his customers are looking for fresh romelito
09:49to prepare it with mole for Christmas dinner.
09:51Mr. Gustavo explains that the romelito has not become more expensive for this season
09:56because the supply of this product is abundant.
10:01The price of romelito is currently good.
10:06It is difficult for it to go up or down two or three days before it even goes down when
10:11there is a lot.
10:12But there are times when it is scarce, and then the price of the product is even doubled
10:17two or three days before.
10:19It is the law of supply and demand.
10:22This time, it will not be like that because there is a lot in the central supply center.
10:26You can see trucks with a lot of romelito.
10:31Don Gustavo recognizes that romelitos, a classic dish on the capitol's tables during
10:38Christmas dinner, remains but is losing ground to other options.
10:46Is romelito still a tradition in the Mexican tables?
10:49Yes, it is still quite a lot.
10:52Not like before, it used to be sold in huge quantities by the bundle.
10:56Now we are bringing 20, 30 kilograms, but before we used to sell two or three bundles
11:02of 60 kilograms.
11:04Ten to 15 years ago, we used to sell a lot of romelito.
11:11For some people in the capitol, romelitos are a must on their Christmas table, and they
11:16are buying them in advance.
11:19The price is maintained always fresh above all, always with good quality.
11:25At home with my grandparents, we always used to eat romelitos, then with my parents and
11:29now here at home.
11:35In early October, unusual rains flooded 22 hectares of romelitos in Mexico City.
11:41Putting the crop at risk, the local government supported the producers.
11:46We are fulfilling the commitment of the head of government, and on her behalf we are delivering
11:51seed so that this productive agricultural cycle is not lost and that in December we
11:57will have romelitos.
11:59We know the importance of romelitos for the area.
12:02Mexico City is the number one producer of romelitos at the national level.
12:11By 2024, production is expected to exceed 130 tons, thus guaranteeing supply.
12:19The joint effort between the local government and the producers of the rural area of the
12:24Tlahuac municipality made it possible to rescue dozens of hectares that were affected by atypical
12:29rains during October, thus avoiding a shortage of romelito during the Christmas season.

13:17Welcome back.
13:30The human rights organization Euromet Human Rights Monitor denounced that Israel is committing
13:36urban massacres in Gaza.
13:38The organization denounces that the tactics employed in Gaza by Israeli troops, ranging
13:42from aerial bombardment, rubber explosives and bulldozers demolishing residences, have
13:47reduced entire towns in the Palestinian enclave to rubble.
13:50Jabalia, Beit Lahaya and Beit Hanun, in the north of the Strip, have been completely razed
13:55to the ground.
13:56The agency asserts that what Israel is trying to do is to erase the Palestinian material
14:01and cultural presence, thus reiterating a clear violation of international law.
14:10The UN Security Council called for an inclusive political process in Syria and respect for
14:15the country's sovereignty, independence, unity and territorial integrity.
14:19The organization advocates that Syrians themselves should control the process.
14:23UN Special Envoy Gerd Pedersen urged action against terrorism, a striking issue considering
14:28that several member countries are in talks with a self-proclaimed leader, raised as a
14:32global terrorist.
14:33China, Russia and Iran reiterated the importance of abiding by all council resolutions, the
14:391974 agreements and support for the UN force to observe the disengagement and the implementation
14:45of its mandate in the Syrian Gulf.
14:52The Arab League again called for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its
14:57capital in the occupied East Jerusalem.
14:59The call was made during a meeting in the capital, Cairo, with the Delegation of Foreign
15:04Affairs and Defense Committee of the French Senate.
15:07The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed al-Burghait, stressed the importance
15:11that the Arab world attaches to the French recognition of the Palestinian state within
15:15the borders of June 1967.
15:18The official affirmed that the creation of a Palestinian state will bring peace based
15:21on justice and dignity.
15:28And the Iranian government warned of responding firmly in case the West decides to implement
15:32the snapback mechanism again.
15:34The snapback mechanism, created in 2015 within the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, enabled
15:39the United Nations to impose sanctions against Iran if it violates its nuclear commitments.
15:44In this regard, Amir Zayed Erevani, representative of Iran to the United Nations, assured that
15:49pursuing such aggressive policy will trigger a steadfast response.
15:53Likewise, the diplomat argued that the European troika's unfounded allegations are based on
15:58political interests.
16:00Moreover, Erevani reaffirmed his nation's everlasting commitment to continued cooperation
16:05with the International Atomic Energy Agency, noting that Iran has always heartened its
16:09nuclear energy for strictly peaceful purposes.
16:18I make it clear once and for all, the so-called snapback mechanism is not a tool in their
16:22hands that they can use to threaten Iran.
16:25Iran has clearly stated that a very provocative action will be met with a decisive and proportionate
16:30response.
16:33In Ethiopia, people across several towns and villages in the Amar region demonstrate to
16:37call for an end to the ongoing conflicts.
16:39Students, religious parents, the elderly, public and government officials took to the
16:44streets carrying posters with messages in defense of stability.
16:47Those mobilized denounced that the recurring security problems greatly hindered development
16:51efforts in the area and demanded a return to total normality.
16:55The Ethiopian Council of Ministers declared a state of emergency in Amara from early August
16:592023 to control the armed conflict between regional forces and armed groups to ensure
17:04peace.
17:05However, clashes continue.
17:11And the Russian government condemns the support of the Ukrainian regime to various service
17:15organizations in the Sahel region.
17:17Russian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov pointed out that the Ukrainian support
17:22to terrorist groups represents a greater risk for the people of the Sahel region in
17:26Africa.
17:27Gerasimov said that Kyiv is conducting terrorist training using unmanned aerial vehicles along
17:32with subversive practices against civilians.
17:35The Chief of Staff warns that the West continues to adopt neo-colonialist approaches, considering
17:39the African continent only as a source of strategic raw materials.
17:48And the Azerbaijani government denounced the establishment of a North Atlantic Treaty
17:52Organization infrastructure on its borders with Armenia.
17:55President Ilham Aliyev said that NATO, on the pretext of being EU observers, created
18:00a space in the border area.
18:02He also pointed out that the sending of observers to the border had been jointly agreed with
18:06the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, the President of the European Council, Charles
18:11Michel, and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, in 2022.
18:14But it was to be a limited contingent.
18:17The head of state noted that over the time, the number of EU observers increased to more
18:21than 200 people.
18:28And in China, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian condemned the statements made by
18:33some U.S. politicians on the fight against drugs in that Asian nation.
18:37The diplomat denounced that U.S. authorities distort information about Beijing's anti-drug
18:43operations.
18:44Furthermore, he pointed out that China is one of the countries with the highest number
18:47of controlled substances, as well as the strictest regulations in the world.
18:51Likewise, the Chinese spokesperson urged the U.S. administration to bind and solve their
18:55domestic problems instead of looking for external culprits in an attempt to shirk their responsibilities.
19:08China firmly opposes some U.S.
19:11politicians who distort facts, spread fake information and discredit China's drug control
19:16efforts.
19:17In terms of anti-narcotics, China has the strongest determination, the most ruthless
19:21policy, and one of the best global records.
19:24China has classified the largest number of substances, and the nation has the strictest
19:29drug control worldwide, every day.
19:31China's anti-narcotics authorities fight off the illicit diversion of precursor chemicals
19:36in strict accordance with the law, ensuring that corresponding companies run their businesses
19:42in accordance with the laws and regulations.
