00:00In the heart of Sydney's Jewish community, vandals leave behind a trail of destruction.
00:08After extinguishing the flames of this torched ute in Wallara, a disturbing anti-Israel message
00:14is revealed.
00:15A unit block and ten cars were also spray-painted with anti-Semitic slogans.
00:21The behaviour of the people who did it is disgusting behaviour that's against community
00:25standards.
00:26These are people's houses that they live in, these are people's cars.
00:29I have lived here, as I say, 55 years and never felt threatened.
00:33Detectives say they have identified two alleged offenders on CCTV fleeing the scene.
00:40Police are still working to determine the exact motive of the vandals, but say they'll
00:44treat any potential hate crime seriously.
00:48Community leaders and politicians have condemned the attack.
00:51The Prime Minister is saying there is no place for anti-Semitism in Australia.
00:56A project overseas cannot be made a platform for prejudice at home.
01:00Police are throwing massive resources at catching and then prosecuting these vile individuals
01:08that have perpetrated what is undeniably a hate crime.
01:11The local member has described it as unacceptable.
01:15I think Australians, we care about having a country that is welcoming to everyone of
01:21all face, backgrounds and sexualities and we will not be intimidated.
01:25There's a very real fear that this could eventually lead to someone getting killed.
01:28We find any form of these sort of attacks abhorrent and against the social standing
01:34of what we expect in Australia.
01:37The damage bill is expected to run in the tens of thousands of dollars.
