Two men have been arrested following investigations into a spate of anti-Semitic graffiti spraypainted on property in Perth’s metropolitan suburbs.

00:00On the evening of the 1st of February, about 6.30pm through to the morning, early morning on Sunday the 1st or 2nd of February,
00:08police will allege that two males, aged 27 years old, were involved in the spray painting of anti-Semitic messages
00:17and their swastika symbol, both in Delkeith and also one in Dianella or Morley.
00:23Those two males, two 27-year-old males, have now been charged with criminal damage.
00:28They're charged with criminal damage in circumstances of racial aggravation.
00:33I'm pleased to say that those laws in Western Australia carry a very significant penalty.
00:38That's a 14-year imprisonment penalty.
00:40It's obviously up to the courts to decide on penalties.
00:44We have capabilities out there today to identify those who commit serious crimes such as this within hours.
00:51We had the suspects within hours.
00:52What we did over the next two and a half days was firm up the evidence against them.

00:59We look at movements of vehicles and phones, forensics.
01:03Everything was thrown at this because we know our community just does not tolerate this behaviour.
01:10The most important part of this investigation for us was that our community stood up with everyone,
01:16stood up with the entire community and stood up with those victims of this hate.

01:24They came forward with their CCTV observations throughout the night.
01:29In WA, we are very fortunate to have the capabilities that we have been given by government,
01:34but we are even more fortunate to have a community that supports law and order
01:40and attacks this hate immediately.
