00:00The country's economy rose under the administration of Marcos Jr.
00:04where the unemployment rate also decreased.
00:07That's the national news of Quenzel Bocobo of IBC 13.
00:14Since President Bongbong Marcos Jr. took office,
00:18the Gross Domestic Product increased by 6.1%
00:21or the number of domestic products and services in the Philippines
00:26according to the Department of Finance.
00:29The DOF also added that the Philippines is also part of the leading economy in the ASEAN region.
00:35This is also one of the reasons why the DOF held the 126th Anniversary Forum
00:42of the Manila Times today.
00:44The Philippines is among the leading economies in the ASEAN region
00:48growing at 6.1% as of the second quarter of this year.
00:53According to the Central Bank of the Philippines,
00:56the inflation rate in the country is only playing at 3% this year.
01:00The unemployment rate decreased by 4%
01:03while the underemployment rate is at 11.2%.
01:07And the best part is that the international reserve of the Philippines
01:12also increased to 112 billion US dollars.
01:16All of these inflows, of course,
01:19translate to an opportunity to build up our gross international reserves.
01:25And so the latest figure that we have is as of the end of September.
01:28And you see that currently we have 112 billion US dollars in our foreign reserves.
01:37And that's an increase from the end of last year of only 104 billion.
01:45All of these,
01:46because of the movements of the government
01:49according to the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028,
01:53including the allocation of 9.6 trillion pesos in funds
01:58for various projects for transportation,
02:01water,
02:02digital connectivity,
02:03health,
02:04and education.
02:05If these positive indications continue,
02:08such as a decrease in the inflation rate,
02:11GDP growth,
02:12and a decrease in poverty incidence in the country,
02:15it is not surprising that from the lower middle
02:17to the upper middle income is the status of the Philippines
02:20in the next year.
02:22From IBC 13,
02:24Quenzel Bocobo for Balitang Pambansa.
