00:0047 Filipinos have returned home from Lebanon amid rising tensions between Israel and Hezbollah.
00:10According to the Department of Migrant Workers, the government will continue to provide pre-repatriation services and post-arrival assistance for the returning Filipinos.
00:21My report, CBN Manalo.
00:2447 Filipinos have arrived in Naia, Terminal 1 last night.
00:32They are our countrymen who availed of the government's Voluntary Repatriation Program after being trapped in Lebanon.
00:41They were welcomed by the Department of Migrant Workers, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, and other government agencies.
00:5145 of them are overseas Filipino workers and 2 are dependents.
00:57This is the largest batch of OFWs who have returned from Lebanon since President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered the repatriation program to begin in October 2023.
01:12We will not stop offering free repatriation services and post-arrival assistance that our beloved President ordered through a whole-of-government approach.
01:24In total, there are 525 OFWs and 30 dependents who have returned from Lebanon.
01:31OFWs will receive P170,000 in financial assistance.
01:37They will also be given various skills such as entrepreneurship, employment enhancement, and skills enhancement training.
01:46We're making our services more available. We have hotlines.
01:50We have transport even for those who need to be brought to shelters from their homes, from anywhere within Beirut.
01:58The Department of Health is also involved in physical examination and psychological first aid.
02:04And we will provide them more hospitalization services even after they have gone home to their specific provinces.
02:13According to the DMW, 364 OFWs from Lebanon will be able to return to the Philippines this month.
02:21More than 200 OFWs have been arranged by the Lebanese Immigration Authorities.
02:27For now, Lebanon is under Alert Level 3.
02:30This means that it is a mandatory repatriation.
