00:00And at this point, let's talk about the update on the programs of the current administration here in Mr. President on the go.
00:25First of all, my fellow countrymen, the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers was passed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
00:33This September 23, our President passed the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers.
00:40This is to ensure the rights of Filipino sailors.
00:45As part of the aspirations of the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers, it is to ensure a stable salary, safe working conditions, and the continued training of sailors.
00:57This law will strengthen the protection of Filipino sailors against abuse and discrimination.
01:04The Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers is important because it will help our Filipino sailors prepare for their career in the global maritime industry.
01:16According to President R. Marcos, passing this law is part of the recognition of the government of the sacrifices and contributions of Filipino sailors in the country.
01:27This is a way for Filipino seafarers to be seen, heard, and the government to support them.
01:36Meanwhile, still on the topic of law, yesterday, the 6th Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council or the so-called LEDAC meeting was held,
01:47which was led by our President.
01:49Up to 19 out of 64 Common Legislative Agenda Priority Measures of the Administration were included in the law due to the assistance of the Senate and Congress.
02:01According to Senate President Francis C. Escudero, the number of approved laws in the Senate will increase by five before the end of the year.
02:11Meanwhile, in the House of Representatives, according to House Speaker Ferdinand Martin N. Wildes,
02:17only two of the legislative priority agendas were included in the Senate so that the law can be passed by December.
02:24Well, recently, our lawmakers were focused on revising the proposed budget for 2025 of each government agencies,
02:31and we are hoping that more legislative agenda priority measures will be included in the law before the end of 2024.
02:40And that is the update on the programs of our government.
02:45Until the next episode, Mr. President, on the go.
