00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. once again expressed his continued support for the Philippine seafarers.
00:08This is after the President formally passed the Magna Carta of Filipino Seafarers today.
00:15According to President Marcos, the new law will serve as a tribute to the sacrifices of the Philippine seafarers
00:22and a call for a better future for them.
00:27The President also gave strength to this new law, the Legal Framework,
00:33to ensure that the marines will receive adequate training, a good contract, and a fair salary.
00:41With the help of this, the Philippine seafarers will receive protection from exploitation
00:48due to a clearer mechanism regarding disputes.
00:52It is expected that more than half a million marines will benefit from the Magna Carta of the Filipino Seafarers.
