00:00At this point, let's talk about the latest update on the programs of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. here in Mr. President On The Go.
00:25First of all, fellow countrymen, it is expected that 1.2 million hectares of rice will be planted in the country.
00:35Now, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has launched the Agri-Pohunan at Pantawid Program.
00:41This is the gift of our President to our farmers for celebrating his 67th birthday in Gimba, Evisia.
00:52According to the Municipal Agriculturist of Dalanusa, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has chosen for his countrymen to launch this affordable loan
01:02because Gimba is the largest rice farm in Evisia, which has more than 15,000 hectares.
01:11The Agri-Pohunan at Pantawid Program of the Department of Agriculture is a comprehensive credit facility for farmers
01:20in the access of rice, paddy, pesticide, and fertilizer, as well as services such as machinery and drones.
01:30The farmers registered in the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture are qualified in the program.
01:36There is a farmland that is not more than 2 hectares.
01:40There are no outstanding loans from the formal lenders or from the DA Agricultural Credit Policy Council.
01:46There are no negative findings and the technical training in rice is complete.
01:51Each beneficiary has a maximum credit of Php 60,000 per hectare for planting,
01:58where Php 28,000 per hectare is for the production of rice and input credit, while Php 32,000 per hectare is for subsistence allowance.
02:06The loan term is 180 days until the time of planting ends.
02:11This has an interest rate of 2% per year.
02:15As explained by DA Secretary Francisco Chu Laurel Jr.,
02:18each beneficiary is a member of the Interventions Monitoring Card or IMC,
02:24which serves as an electronic wallet where they can obtain interventions from DA accredited merchants.
02:32This can be obtained through automated teller machines, online banking, and over-the-counter bank transactions.
02:41The target of the DA is to distribute the IMC to 5,000 farmers in the middle of September.
02:48In his message, the President said that the Agri-Puhunan and Pantawid Program
02:54was a result of the serious listening of his administration to the needs of our farmers.
03:02While the government is addressing the needs of our farmers,
03:09such as rice, paddy, and post-harvest facilities,
03:12it will complement other infrastructure needs.
03:17This includes the construction of bridges that will connect the barangays,
03:22such as Balbalino and Sandaanan in the town of Gimba.
03:25The Agri-Puhunan and Pantawid Program will be included in the priorities of the Agri-Puhunan and Pantawid Program.
03:34That's all for this morning's update.
