00:40She admitted that she got the disease from eating salty and fatty foods.

00:56Rosemary is blessed because she is one of the beneficiaries who got free surgery because of PHC programs.

01:09or Bukas Center of the Philippine Heart Center.
01:12And today, President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. emphasized the distribution of Bukas Center of PHC
01:20which can provide quality medical services for our countrymen.
01:26This center is not just a health facility.
01:30It aims to bridge the gap between primary care facilities and higher level health institutions
01:36by providing urgent health care services for minor surgeries and other ancillary services.
01:43So when you or your loved ones come through these doors, you will find not just a place of care
01:48but a place of immediate compassionate support.
01:52The Philippine Heart Center was established in 1975
01:56under the Presidential Decree No. 673 of the Administration of the former President Ferdinand E. Marquez Jr.
02:03And for almost 50 years, thousands of Filipinos have been suffering from heart disease
02:09and the Philippine Heart Center has helped and improved them.
02:13The Philippine Heart Center or PHC has long been a symbol of hope and excellence in health care.
02:19PHC has remained steadfast in its commitment to save lives
02:23and alleviate the suffering of those with cardiovascular diseases.
02:28At present, the hospital has more than 500 bed capacity,
02:3210 operating rooms, 6 cardiac catheterization laboratories,
02:378 intensive care units, and 20 patient wards.
02:41At present, there are 15 regional heart centers in 18 regions throughout the Philippines.
02:47Of these, 7 are fully-fledged regional heart centers
02:52including in Ilocos Norte, Albay, Camarines Sur, Iloilo, Cebu, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro.
03:00And as part of the Department of Health's Modernization for Healthy Equity

03:08the government's target is to open 28 open centers throughout the Philippines.

04:05and more than Php 134 million for the National Kidney Transplant Institute.
04:11Meanwhile, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority,
04:15heart disease is still the leading cause of the Filipino's disease.
04:21According to the health department,
04:23it is contagious because the younger the younger, the more heart disease.
