Transcript
00:00Good morning everyone, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press on Wednesday, August the 14th.
00:05Just bringing you some of our headlines today. We put out a story late yesterday following
00:11the unrest at the hotel in Manvers Rotherham a week or so back. There's been a number
00:17of people who've been arrested and charged with disorder offences. One such person, a
00:2319-year-old, actually appeared in court yesterday and was given a three-year custodial sentence
00:31for throwing rocks at police officers. He said in court he didn't know why he did it.
00:39Well, he's got three years to think about that now, hasn't he? So that's following,
00:44like I said, lots of other ones, so keep your eye out for those. The court are dealing with
00:49them quite quickly and most people are being sent to jail for their involvement. Then we
00:55have a piece also sent out yesterday. There was a missing woman, Christine, she went missing
01:01from Doncaster at Monday tea time. There's a couple of pictures that are online. Family
01:06are obviously frantic to find out where she is, so if you could take a look at that picture,
01:10let them know. If you have seen her, get in touch with the police, they've put out a statement
01:15regarding her disappearance as well. And then finally, I put a story out yesterday,
01:23obviously this week's, next two weeks actually, exam results weeks. We've got a little story
01:32about a Doncaster lad, 18, who because of his background, didn't think he was worthy almost
01:39of getting good grades and going to university. He has secured a place at the University of Warwick.
01:44It's dependent on some really good grades, but he is predicted to receive those. So there's
01:50a story about him there and obviously, come results day, we will be making sure that we
01:55let you know how he got on and if he secured that place and good luck to him. So for those three
02:00stories and for anything else that's happening in Doncaster today, just visit www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk
02:07or of course you can catch up with everything on Facebook and X and have a lovely Wednesday.
