Doncaster Free Press Daily Bulletin with Stephanie Bateman - Wednesday June 19, 2024
Transcript
00:00Good morning, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Wednesday, June the 19th.
00:05Just bringing you some of our headlines this morning.
00:08We have stories that come out from the council.
00:11They have given their agreement to plans for a pickleball court on Wheatley Hill Industrial Estate.
00:20If you're not sure what pickleball is, you need to pick up on that story and have a look.
00:26But it's going to be somewhere where young people can vent off some steam.
00:32So that's good news for that area of the city.
00:36Then we have a very unpleasant one where a cat has been hit with an air gun in a quite sickening Doncaster attack.
00:45The RSPCA are looking into that at the moment.
00:49You can find the details of that on the website today as well.
00:53And then one that one of our local democracy reporters covered for us.
00:59The fact that more than £70 million has been paid out for injuries caused to mothers and babies attending hospitals across South Yorkshire.
01:09That includes a substantial sum from Doncaster as well.
01:14So you can read that this morning also.
01:18So for those stories and for anything else that's happening in Doncaster today, just visit the website www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk
01:27And of course X and Facebook.
01:29And I hope you have a really nice Wednesday.
