00:00So what we've got here is the R10.
00:06There's a lot of sensitivity in this component.
00:13It's a little bit noisy.
00:15Basically, you guys have written a bit of what happened, I'll tell you later.
00:18This is official information that, as a system administrator,
00:23being able to kind of quickly press a switch to these things.
00:28Yeah, so this down here is an IP address,
00:31and this is the host name, which is the IP address.
00:34So it just gives them that kind of little fingertips thing.
00:37So when you're trying to administer a system like this,
00:39you're trying to look at serial numbers and all that kind of stuff.
00:43So that's the media server.
00:45And then behind Chris here we've got a lot of the pixel processors.
00:49So what they do in the system is very different jobs,
00:53but they both kind of come together and work together within a system.
00:56Vegas is an ideal place, correct?
00:58It's got LEDs on the outside.
01:00It has 16,000 or 18,000 seater seatings.
01:06It's quite something.
01:09And then this outside has a surface that's called the exosphere,
01:13and that has LEDs on the outside,
01:15where people can put lots of imagery on the outside.
01:18But this inside surface is the head of the jewel.
01:22If you go to a cinema, this is probably 40 times as large as a big cinema.
01:27And all you can see is the scale,
01:29and you can see the ideas that people are building.
01:32So this is huge.
01:34And what we've done is developed a media server
01:38for the video players to play the video on the inside and on the outside as well.
01:44The inside is really where the challenge comes,
01:47because it's such a large display
01:49that you can't connect a computer to it and drive it as one thing,
01:53like you might do with a monitor.
01:55You need to split it up into chunks.
01:57A section of screen, so we've only got nine, but normally we'd have 12.
02:01And that is this area of that thing.
02:04So although this is tiny,
02:06the actual resolution of this equates to that much space in the menu.
02:11So it allows us to test how our software works,
02:16all the timing between what we do.
02:22It's an amazing project to be involved in.
02:26Obviously we've supplied all of the hardware for this,
02:29we've worked very closely with MSG,
02:31who are the owners of this venue,
02:33and we've actually got a long relationship with MSG.
02:39One of the big things we did here is move from standard video
02:43that you'd normally be monitoring with a cable,
02:46but everything in the venue is network-based.
02:49No-one else has really done that.
02:51It was three years of development
02:53to put the first system in place to do all of that work.
02:56They're kind of the integration of the equipment,
02:59so that we put all those things together and spend hours on them.
03:03This is our totem pole,
03:05and the guy at the top is Totem Paul.
03:09We've got our projection mapping on,
03:11so there's a camera system around this truss here,
03:14which is looking at these passive markers on this 3D-printed object,
03:19which acts as a rigid body that we're tracking in 3D space.
03:22So we're able to pick it up and turn it around,
03:25and it's really fast because the projectors and the cameras are all...
03:30and actually the media that we're playing
03:32is all refreshing at 240 frames per second.
03:37We're projection mapping this live in real time.
03:40We've got this handy little crazy Susan here,
03:42so we'll spin it around.
03:46Susan's got eyes.
03:47She's got eyes, yeah.
03:49We did some funny drinks with some children
03:51where we folded out a version, effectively.
03:54Right.
03:55So it was in the US.
03:57We've done it a couple of times,
03:58but this was in the US, like STEM Fest,
04:00to get children interested in science.
04:02So what we were trying to do was marry the physical
04:08with the virtual computer system.
04:11So this is effectively a flat map of Paul.
04:17So we get them to colour it in,
04:19and then what they can do is we can take that
04:22and actually take a photo or a feed of that
04:26and put it on there real time for them
04:28to see what they've put on to hopefully help with...
04:33There you go.
04:34I see, there he is.
04:36The children must love that.
04:38We did it as though it was in an Orlando Tech Fest.
04:41We also have baby Paul.
04:43Oh, baby Paul.
04:44So this shows that we're able to track...
04:48Oh, I see.
04:49...side by side, so they're slightly different
04:51because each projector is in a different space.
04:54Yes, in a slightly different place.
04:56So we're able to project from different angles.
04:59I'm so happy to be here,
05:01and I should also mention that if there are any brave members
05:04of the Settler Sense team who are watching live,
05:09it's lovely to include you and indeed your colleagues
05:12who will be, I hope, watching later.
05:15I think giving this award, giving this sort of award,
05:18is one of the most wonderful things that I have been tasked to do.
05:22I am, as you know, the personal representative of the King,
05:26His Majesty the King, in West Sussex,
05:29and giving these awards is a very wonderful thing
05:34because they are very, very hard to get.
05:37The award is a very big congratulations and thank you
05:44for your outstanding commitment
05:47and your excellence in what you do.
05:50I really am full of admiration.

08:55The last few years has been
08:58very suitable to our industry, it's been a rollercoaster.
09:01It always is.
09:03We know it's been tough,
09:05getting just amazing projects delivered,
09:07and we know it continues to be tough
09:09and we really do appreciate all of the effort
09:11that everyone on this team
09:13puts into every day here, in a certain sense.
09:16But it is the performance of this team
09:18that creates the experiences
09:20that gets us to win such awards like this.
09:23So it's what you guys all do
09:25that allows us to win these awards.
09:27Thank you so much.
09:28When I'm out and about,
09:30the feedback from our customers means so much
09:33and it's always fantastic.
09:35And yet again, just last week I was in Florida,
09:38I was talking to clients and customers
09:40and they were as complimentary as ever
09:42and so I'm not going to speak,
09:44say any more of my words,
09:46I'm going to read out a quote from one of our clients
09:48that Chrissie and I actually had dinner with last week.
09:51So Thursby Pierce, who we've worked with for many years,
09:55a project manager at Lectrosonic,
09:57now a project manager at Clare.
09:59We were chatting to him,
10:01he was talking about how wonderful the team was
10:03and I said to him, would you mind just putting in words
10:05what you think of the 7th Sense team?
10:07So here are Thursby's words.
10:09I've worked with the 7th Sense team for over 15 years.
10:13The whole crew are terrific to work with.
10:15They've supported many complex projects
10:18I have managed over the years
10:20and the team have always exceeded my expectations
10:23as a manufacturer to support their customers.
10:25Many of the projects were bespoke,
10:27very custom applications
10:29that require lots of attention
10:31to video content and workflow.
10:337th Sense consistently offers
10:35the best hardware and software solutions
